#kingdomdeath #wonderwoman #oilpaints - Zábava
I can’t get my head around this one, I’m watching you putting the paint on then wiping it off and in no time at all it’s absolutely stunning. I can’t understand it.
Not gon lie. You are by far my favorite mini painter on CZcams.
😍😍😍😍😍😘
Me too, plus after all the years of watching people come and go on CZcams with the same things Marco has managed to show me new ways in the hobby I've never seen before.
Word
Bro! im loving Marco, hes the best mini painter ive watched, he seems to look at mini painting in such a different but more understanding way.
Marco I love how you are breaking the unspoken rules of miniature painting showcasing different mediums. After oils and spray-cans I am almost expecting you to drop a "watercolor/gouache painting for miniatures" anytime now!
😁😁😁 already done with gouache czcams.com/video/pWojUQsVoKk/video.html 😁😁😁 Thanks a million man!
My favorite is watching other youtubers saying "i never thin my paints" and "i never use washes or glazes" then praising GW Contrast Paints.
I'm always thinking "clearly they never watch Marco"
Hello I am a fairly recent subscriber here but i was delighted to see this video. I learnt to paint in the 1990's and this is exactly the method i have always used. Acrylics were fairly new and were only considered good for undercoats back then. I still have and use my original set of windsor and Newton paints. I have about 20 tubes and have never needed more and won't for years to come. On my pallet i only put dots of paint with a wooden toothpick this is often enough but not always. So they are also the most economic paints available. And yes, i have painted hundreds of minis, though mostly in 54mm not for wargaming. Realy enjoying your work. All the best.
Thank you, interesting.
I've bought my oil paints, haven't tried yet. I'll try the toothpick method for sure.
No idea where you got the idea acrylic paints were terrible even in the late 90’s?!? I’m baffled by that, professional artists have been using high quality acrylic paints for decades… they have certainly become much easier to use in recent years and even cheaper acrylics work very well where as in the past you had to spend a pretty decent amount to get any acrylic of decent quality.
My mom has been an acrylic artist who works on board, canvas, metal, and paper since the mid 70’s and her old work still looks great.
I’m pretty sure one of the most respected galleries in Canada wouldn’t be exhibiting her work for the last 4/5 decades if her use of acrylics was seen as of poor quality and unprofessional.
She does say they are harder to work with, but she prefers the speed at which acrylics allow one to work as a huge benefit…But acrylics sure are less fussy then they used to be that’s for sure!
So I’m just a bit confused by your comment… maybe you could clarify just in case I’m misunderstanding something here…
I learned the phrase "wet on wet" as an oil paint terminology (long before learning about acrylics) by watching Bob Ross with my Dad when I was little.
My man, Marco, out here laying down some invaluable lessons. Especially helpful as I'm still learning the ropes. Thanks for the vid
It's so refreshing to see a miniature painter that does something different than just citadel paints, base coat+wash+highlights. You've inspired me (a complete noob) to start blending my own mixes (which is really useful since I don't own many paints) and maybe trying out oils in the future. Thanks!
😁😍😁😍😁
Your tutorials have changed my painting methods and given me back the fun that had left my hobby time. Thank you 😊
I just finished my first model with only oils, and man! I'm so proud of it! Thanks for all the tips, they are really useful!
The maestro strikes again. Super informative. This guy is metal.
It looks like a much more enjoyable and artistic way to paint models. The GW method almost becomes like a chore or painting by numbers. This method looks like something I could really get into. Thank you!
That is very much my experience. Oil > Acrylics but I can see the point in mixing both + varnish for the ultimate experience
Started with oils a few years ago and never looked back. Nothing can substitute the properties of this glorious medium! I now only use lacquers for priming & basecoating.
The intro alone gets you my subscription 😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I really love this kind of tutorials. A new Material Sport has opened it's doors. Time to do some shopping.
I'm trying this now and it is UNREAL how easy it is. Thanks.
This video was wonderful and has fully convinced me to buy a set of oil paints!
😍😁😍 You'll have a ton of fun!!!
Very impressed by the results with the first layer on skin.
Wow this is on a whole other level than the edge highlighted space marines you see all the time on youtube (which are impressive in their own right!). Your choice and control of colors gives it a warm and vibrant Boris Vallejo feel.
Okay... i have to start painting with oil, thank you for the video
Marco, you've just stepped it up even more. I struggle to emulate your style as it is, now you've dropped this! Amazing!
Vallejo and GW will be coming for you! Marco here at the forefront of a new wave of mini painting techniques
Love Kingdom Death models, thanks for featuring them occasionally. GW models are everywhere and I tire of the style. You gave me the courage to finally try oils by the way. Thanks!
Impressive work.
Ahhh Marco you are a legend. I love how you break down the barriers for us and explain techniques clearly and with examples. I tried oil painting a Marine earlier this year and it was a struggle, but watching how you painted this miniature highlights how I was approaching the oil painting process completely wrong. I look forward to trying again and that is thanks to you and your exceptional videos :). Cheers dude.
Amazing as always. All your videos are great but i have a crush on your oil paint videos.
Stay safe and keep up the great work! Dont stress, we will stay here and wait for your content 😉
Been debating making this switch for a good while now and think your explanation was exactly what I needed to convince me. Thank you for your time!
Ah nice, I. Been following since you started last year and always useful videos!
Not going to lie. I got excited when I saw the Olive oil. I immediately wanted to make some pasta.
Revisiting videos since I bought oil paints. This channel is a digital treasure!
I love the positivity and lightheartedness of your videos!
I was looking into oil paints, I think this is the one video that convinced me to actually order some and try it.
I´ve started painting my first miniature entirely in oils. You have been an huge inspiration for me, to consider oils. Together with Vince Venturella and James Wappel. All starting with your textured space marine :D (witch im definetly gonna do my self!)
Thank you.
😍😍😍
Marco and Vince are both amazing, and I'm definitely checking this Wappel guy if you find him worth mentioning in such company. Thanks for the tip!
@@FUCKUTUBEFUCKGPLUS Wappel is indeed worth checking out. He has over 500 hours of video content on his Patreon, and tons of recent stuff on his Twitch/CZcams channel you can check out for free. Vince/Wappel/Miniac/and Marco are probably my favorite contributors to the hobby as a whole.
Amazing. Honestly speaking I am not ready for this yet. Still trying to work on techniques with acrylics. You are so much fun to watch as you give me techniques to work toward. Thank you
I'm a pretty new painter as well and honestly I wonder if it wouldn't have been easier to start with oils, they just make more intuitive sense in a way. If nothing else you could at least get a black or dark brown color and try an oil wash instead of a regular acrylic wash. They really add depth to the models.
@@nightdew4934 thanks for the thought. I will have to give that a try. Need to branch out to grow 😁😁
Thank you. You explain things really well. Like you talk and explain all the way. And awesome work.
Thanks a million 😊😊😊!
Yesss!!! The video I've been waiting for!!! Awesome work!!!
Me too!
i love it so much how he laughs at his own joke at 0:10
😂😁😂
when u started i was like wow the mini looked great. then you hit the ugly duckling phase. where you think you totally screwed up the mini and have to start over. Then as you work BAM! you have a well done mini once again. it is sometimes so hard to not over paint something at that ugly phase or give up hope thinking you screwed it up. Every day is a new lesson from you once again well done!
Mother of god... you are playing on totally different league!
Ottimo lavoro straordinario!
Incredible as always! More Kingdom Death please! : D
Marco, this video could not have come at a better time. I ordered some oil paints and white spirits and they just got delivered.
Thanks!
Literally my favorite painter on CZcams. I learn so much by watching your videos!! You've really helped me adventure further into painting than I ever hoped
😍
That was one of the most enjoyable oil on miniatures videos I've ever seen! Thank you, Marco!
Love it. Would like to see something similar with the inks.
By the way, for those who love the grim-dark looks check the "28 magazine". Only 3 numbers at the moment but free and with an amazing quality.
It's a fantastic magazine, but I'm desperate to get it as a hard copy which I can hold in my hands! The artwork and photos are too good to view on a screen.
I've tried my hand at oils several time. I love using them! Still not even close to your mastery of it, but I enjoy how smooth and easy you make it look lol!
Now You made me want to try to paint in oil... i have to grab a nice barbarian modell with lots of skintone :D (Thaks for these suuuuper instructional Videos. Keep up the great work.)
You make it look so easy. As an old mini painter i started with oils and enamals and it never got close to that. But you peeked my intrest. I think ill give it a try, applying what ive learnt over the years. Just got to remeber not to keep the brush out of my mouth. Great work by the way.
Between this and Ninjon's video I have picked up some cheap oil paints, thinner etc and am cautiously looking forward to giving it a go
Man thank you soooo much. I just tried it today. Painting with oils is so much fun !!
Mate! Just wow! I am learning so many cool techniques from your channel!
And oils smell awesome.
Wonderful video... always great to see new material Marco.
I have never seen your channel or this techniek before but i love it,
immediate sub.
😍 thanks man!!!
welcome to the Marco family!!! Niels, you have a year back catalogue to explore. I suggest a beer and munchies and binge watch from the first Blanchisu style video....
Amazing. For sure I'm gonna try it
Awesome figure; the oil paint really makes it POP out more. The colors are beautiful.
Amazing stuff!!! You are so awesome 🤘🏻 🤯
Your nails are fine but your painting is outstanding and continues to inspire me.
I'm about to attempt using oil paints to add some shading to a large D&D blue dragon I'm working on right now and I admit it's daunting. But after watching this, even a hack like me can go for it, I think! Good show, Marco!
Watching now. Was watching something else, Marco will always get preference. BTW, Marco. I got my Kimeras finally, straight from Pegaso. Was hilarious as they came wrapped in Italian newspaper. They have/had 100 slots. My box had my name inside it, so they clearly had boxes ready and marked them as orders came in. :) I love small business style stuff like this.
She's gorgeous. Pretty much perfect Artemis Wonder Woman. Diana lost the mantle to her and she was a redhead. :)
Nice skills man!
That looks incredible, thankyou so much for this information 👌🏻
Awesome video, can't wait to try it!
Beautiful. Thank you for the info.
Marco, how many crystal brush and golden daemon have you won? We won’t accept anything less than 50...
Seriously, you should open a painting/art school, we would all fly there for masterclasses. I have never seen somebody mastering so many techniques and variations, coupled with such creativity and seamless execution. Really an inspiration, thanks for sharing!
He does offer private, face to face classes and it's very much on my 'to do' list :)
😁😁😁 I started being serious about painting competitions only last year! I went to seven events coming home with twelve medals 😁 then Covid19 killed the momentum 😥 same for workshops and lessons 😥. I do online lessons but I can't wait to have again painters in the studio and fly to events!
@@MarcoFrisoniNJM Congrats on the medals! :)
Where can I find info re 1-1 online classes?
Another great tutorial - thank you.
Tony
As someone who has just started on this oil painting minis journey, I'd say don't worry about the cost of materials.
30 UK pounds bought me ten 37ml tubes of winton oil paint (from which basically any shade could be created by mixing) and a bottle of artist's odour free spirit (and hardware store spirit is apparently fine, so I overspent). Buying a certain well know brand of acrylics, the same amount of money wouldn't even get you five 12ml pots.
Now, I just have to learn to paint! 😆
Your vids are great, you're so happy. Is it something in the fumes? 😉
I wanted to used this technique on my latest mini, I had the oil paint ready, or so I thought. It appeared to be aquarel paint... This month for sure I'll get real oil paint!
Thanks for the video Marco! I learned a lot from YT tutorials, but you learned me the most. Thanks again.
Great inspiration to try new techniques as always
Incredible stuff!
Marco we don't deserve you, your videos are just too good.
😂😂😂😂😂😘
Great Marco. Thank you. I use like a pallette for oils just a square flat piece of white ceramic, which is very cheap and easy to find and I think more simple to clean and use with oils. :-)
Hi Marco, great job. I love your video. I am painting with oil since a few years now (from 25mm to 90mm, and some flat pieces). I used acrylic before and had allways issues with all those layers. With your videos I still learning especialy about color mixing. Thanks a lot and btw I love your "irish" accent!!!
Getting into this after getting in my full practice with acrylics using a zorn palette
that's pretty good!
Absolutely breath-taking work. I've not painted anything for sometime but I'm currently looking at starting a new project to get back into painting. A part of me would love to start painting with oil paints as the results are astounding but I admit that I find them intimidating as I suspect I'm missing a lot of foundation level knowledge.
I got you covered! It's a bit old, but the info holds up ;) czcams.com/video/x_pxojd7kp8/video.htmlsi=PM-hzVlr-K-U2CCy
Start with a super essential selection of high quality, art store oils (cyan, magenta, primary yellow, black and white, and you can mix everything else!) and see if you like the medium! But, I totally agree, the real barrier for oils is more in the informational/where to begin stage than the actual complexity of the oil process
The oil joke got me. Subscribed.
😂😁😂
Grande Marco! Spectacular tutorial as always! Saluti dai fan Italiani
That intro may have been funnier than it should have but it made me crack up
Lovely video as always! Funny enough I already painted like this after having discovered your channel where you demonstrated oil washes and doing some experiements and painted the armour of my warcry stormcasts this way. Seeing you do it will certainly help my technique get better, some of my blends were a bit clumsy.
Favourite painter on CZcams!
😍😁😍
Hi Marco i am trying oils for the first time on my latest bust thanks for giving me the confidence to give it a go ! Regards Gav.
This is a great video on using oils! I hope you make more oil content soon. Not enough content creators make oil videos, so thanks for making them!
For the next video I'd like to see "I airbrushed a squad with oil paints" ;-)
😁😂😁 I do it 😁 but spraying oils it's too messy and not really a game changer
Well done!
Great video I keep on coming back to! Not everything made sense to me the first time I watched it but since then I ave tried oil paints several times and I think now I fully understand the process. It’s not difficult but hard to adjust to if you come from acrylic paints 😅
Marco, that's insanely simple. Can't wait to mess about with oil
Yeah okay, fuck it. I'm getting Oil Colors right now.
Brilliant Video Mate!
😁😊😁 and check the full the full playlist for more details 😉
@@MarcoFrisoniNJM Will do so! Thank you so much :) I ordered the Artists Set, ne Brushes and some White Spirits. Can't wait to get startet, although I hope I'm not missing anything.
Hello. Im dirtyburger-chan- Just want to say that i love watching you play with colors. Keep it up
damn you and your high quality lessons that moved me out of my comfort zone and made me a better painter.
I put a curse on you for making me feel bad that I can not support your Patreon at thin moment in time.
BE CURSED WITH PROSPERITY AND GOOD HEALTH!!!
😁😂😁😂😁 Thanks a million man!!!
Spettacolo come al solito... :) Grande Marco
Never tried oil paints, but after watching this video I'm working on my confidence to try it. I have to admit it feels a little bit scary.
Check also the new, updated video posted yesterday 😁 for more information!
Damn this actually makes me want to start trying oils, I don't have time for all this experimentation!!!!
Marco... I never fail to learn new bits of technical knowledge watching you work. My creative brain loves you, but my wallet is starting to demand a restraining order, unless I can figure out how to get my colorblind self working purely in CMYK color mixing, before diving into yet another painting discipline...
Grande artista!!!
Grande come sempre
I'm absolutely going to try oils soon. :o
Beautifull!!! 😍
I mean, that is fantastic. I am just cleaning out and setting up a new look to my hobby room (the attic) and I am buying all the oils etc to give it a try.
If I had a question...it would be how to paint the cylinders and curved oval shapes you find on space marines and eldar. The flat panels have always defeated me as I can't work out what part should be highlighted and how etc.
Thanks for your videos sir, they are fantastic!
"HELLLO GEEEUYYS"....makes me happy!
You have earned your "like" within the first 10 seconds of the video 😄
YES I love this
