#warhammer #gamesworkshop #dungeonsanddragons - Zábava
As always, Marco just casually creates one of the most beautiful paint jobs I've ever seen and is just like "It's QUICK and EASY!" And I'm over here crying trying to accurately edge highlight my marines.
This paint job is actually easier than edge highlighting your marines! Edge highlighting is a difficult precise process that takes a lot of time and brush control to do cleanly. This paint job looks good because of the scheme and color choices made by a pro artist with lots of experience, but the steps are actually pretty fast and easy once you know what to do.
A treat for all the wargamers, army and commission painters out there 😉 See you later in chat at the premiere!!!
Thank you so much for championing TMM! For real-world viewing it surpasses NMM, yet it gets so little attention. So good to see TMM utilised to such a high standard - looking forward to more TMM from you - please!
Craziest thing in this video is how calm you said ,,And here is the final result". If I did something like that my ego would scream lauder than it's possible :D
There pro-painter youtubers and then there is Marco. I've never seen someone use so many different techniques and make painting look so effortless.
Marco is a modern painting master. Full stop
Simple difference - Marco is an artist while most others on CZcams are more of a technician painters.
Every time you post Marco, I decide "oh that's my new style for everything now"
Man this mirror colour is sooo sick. If i only had access to stuff like that back in my day...
Great work!!!
The King is back! viva Marco!!!
Definitely very metal, really helpful and inspirational for working/tinting over TMM
Marco, it's good to see you're back with new vid. always welcome! Have you experienced new Dual Exo from AK interactive? Can they oppose your beloved Molotow acrylics?
Oh, Marco. Your work leaves me speechless, mate. Just phenomenal.
I can't wait to see you paint some Marvel Crisis Protocol!
Merlin: "Quick! Mount your horse! Igrayne will think her husband has returned from the war!"
Uther: "But... the cliffs... The sea!"
Merlin; "Your lust will hold you up... You will float on the dragons breath. RIDE!"
Such a timeless masterpiece, that movie.. They sure don˝t make them like that anymore!
Have noticed a mixing in the inks compared painting/spraying them on top gives a different finish. Planning to experiment more comparing the two somewhere in the future.
The master did it again. Did I tell you are the best^^. Thanks for that amazing content. Hope you will do a workshop in france.
I always thought I was the only wargamer painting with Stuart Semple's Silveriest Silver :) Nice to see I'm not alone!
Absolutely love this! Always a treat to see your videos.
Glad to see new videos. Please keep them coming!
Another video packed with juicy tips and tricks! Love it
Marco, you are just the best! I learned lots of new things, new ways to think about painting, and got a crazy amount of inspiration. For all your continuous effort and everyone that will find you in the future: grazie mille!
Awesome. Love your TMM
None more metal! Great video as always.
Glad I've joined patreon to follow along on this one!
Looking very thin there Marco, wish I could drop the Christmas pounds as easily ;)
Thanks again for the great tips! That silver ink looks wicked cool!
Another great video, as always; I love your approach to miniature painting. I have an Ogre army to paint with includes five Stonehorns. Please will you do a Frostlord on Stonehorn with your innovative approach? I'm learning loads, but I'm not yet able to take your ideas and run with them entirely on my own. Many thanks.
how are there people who give dislikes to this video?!
marco nailed it once again and i feel so motivated to finally begin using my airbrush on characters and not only environments or vehicles. (theres a browser addon so you can see dislikes btw)
more amazing tips as always Marco! Definitely gonna look into that secret tip near the end.
Always watch your videos, great to see you back after holiday!
Amazing work! Very inspiring
3:19 Liquitex Naphtol Crimson, my favorite red after testing, many, many reds! Turns out I like reds without any orange bias.
Marco, I watched your video on Krondys about 20 times. You make it look easy and it only took you 5 hours. It is a fantastic reference, even though my version is turning out quite different to yours!
I was amazed at the end result and then you said it was around 5 hours and I'm really impressed
Love true metallics at a higher display level!
Marco reminds me again and again why I love colors. And that I need to get good with an Airbrush.
i love that Gamblin cobalt teal for verdigris. the "radiant turquoise" is also great if you want it brighter and more desaturated.
Posted this just before I read your post and looked up the pigments used for your suggestion, guess what? 😉
"That Cobalt Teal looks lovely and also made out of a single pigment (PB28). Did not expect that. Was thinking something like PG7+PB15+PW6."
Oh my... where's my silver
Another Fine piece, Thank You!
Jaw droping piece as always!
This would double up as a cool grey knight scheme!
Marco just casually showing how to do an amazing ice base while prepping a fiery base
Awesome as usual!
Looks like an awesome Power Metal Cover we will never get.
Paintjob is as always awesome. For the base - whats the structure? Not cork i guess?
Thanks a million! It's a chip of bark, the kind you find in flower compositions or playgrounds
I don't know why, but I'm getting some Sergio Calvo vibes from this paintjob
Can't wait!
Marco veramente complimenti è fantastico.
Thank you yet again
you're the best marcooooo!
Hi Marco, have you ever experimented with the water soluble oil/alkyds on the market? I'm wondering how they might be used as standard washes and how acrylics might interact with them.
HI Marco,
a really cool tutorial as usual.
the first silver metalic layer, could the alchol based paint of greenstuf world be used for that?
through an airbrush?
Isn't it difficult to clean the airbrush of this paint?
Loved the tip about the W&N ink for highlighting metals! None of the paints I have here can highlight a shiny surface properly, so I might give that a go!
Do you find it works better than White Metal from Scale75? I was considering getting a bottle of that, since I've seen you use it in many videos. xD
Your style is just so delicious! I can’t express in any other way. Other than your TMM looks like they are juicy. I love it 🤤
I know it’s not shown Marco, but was there any clear coat applied between the silver and the ink?
Have you tried the Liquitex metallic acryllic inks? How do they hold up to the alcohol one you mentioned in the video?
always a treat to see a TMM master!
I'd love to see you paint some battletech, it's both mech and a miniature.
Do you ever use oils through an airbrush, and if so for what applications.
Do you have any advice on how to get the inks to stay put when spraying it over the metallics? When I've tried, they just want to run and spiderweb all over the glossy surface.
You just need to be gentle on the trigger and work in thin layers giving each application the time to set!
Bellissimo
Marco, I have a question about Winsor & Newton drawing inks as you use here. I have tried them, they look great, but when trying to varnish over them I think the dye is re-activating? Any tips on how to varnish over W&N inks? I certainly will try the silver one for metallics, thanks for the tip!
I suspect the answer is "don't varnish". If you must varnish the rest, probably do that before you put on the last highlights using these more fragile inks.
I have been using W&N's range of artist acrylic inks for years now and have never had an issue with them reactivating under an airbrushed or rattlecan varnish even a few minutes after applying ink. However, they are delicate and if you don't allow them to fully cure over at least 24 hours, any liquid on them combined with the pull of a brushstroke will pull the layer off. Once the varnish has cured I have done every brush technique under the sun over top and have had no issues.
What do you use to thin Molotow liquid chrome for the airbrush, and does it need anything different to clean the airbrush either :)
I don't thin it! It can run as it is through the airbrush and it gives you the best behaviour when pure out of the bottle. I clean the airbrush with an alcohol based cleaner so it works for any kind of acrylic paint!
@@MarcoFrisoniNJM amazing, Thanks Marco ❤️ :)
Maybe I missed it, but what was the chrome paint that you used after the black base coat? Can you get it that shiny with a brush? I don't have an airbrush.
Molotow Liquid Chrome! And yes, it works well also with a brush 😊
So you can paint acrylic back over oil? How long to dry in between?
When oils are dry there are no compatibility issues! In my case after the cleaning step I don't have oil paint left on the open areas, so I can paint on those without waiting a second
Is there a way I can take some of your classes?
Question out of curiosity could you do a couple of videos on TMM where you push it to display standard?
ala if you want to enter a painting competition with TMM or colored TMM this is what you need to do.
Awesome idea!!! Thanks a million!!! In the meantime check the video about the gladiator's bust 😉 It got a commendation in Master Historical Painting at the World Model Expo and it has a good amount of TMM!
@@MarcoFrisoniNJM You wouldn´t happen to have a link to that video??
@@Erikjust here it is! czcams.com/video/cMfPeRsAJQM/video.html
Any suggested alternative brand to the schmincke acryl super retarder?
How long do you wait between applying oil paints and passing through with a white spirit Q-tip?
He mentioned that he usually waits 15 mins
@@johnnycarcosa5974 ok thank you, kind sir :)
Does Marco use varnish when he’s done? I’ve watched a lot of his videos but haven’t heard him say anything about it.
I never use varnish! Varnish kills the different finishes and the depth of the layers of paint and I don't want to lose all that visual information 😉 Plus modern acrylics are crazily tough so they don't need any extra protection!
How do you wash your brush after than W&N Silver Ink?
Maybe with Isopropal Alcohol?
That Cobalt Teal looks lovely and also made out of a single pigment (PB28). Did not expect that. Was thinking something like PG7+PB15+PW6.
I really have to to try the last “secret tip” for metallics😃! Just wondering, have you ever tried using posca pens or other acrylic pens for freehand (especially for runes and all kind of writings)?. The version with the smaller size should work well on minis.
I recommend trying Liquid Silver by Vallejo, it seems to be the same as the one shown in the video, but easier to buy in my opinion.
grandee ;)
The only question You missed to Answer is How do you Use the molotov Paint, For me its very sticky with fingerprints and at the same time no paints stick to it. How do you get it into your airbrush without it clogging the needle etc etc i dont get it , even squidmar made a video ith it and it didnt work out for him. pls marco enlighten me
😅 Honestly, I just put it in the airbrush and sprayed 😅 The rule to use well Molotow paints is to shake them really really really well, but in general they are meant to be used straight out of the bottle
@@MarcoFrisoniNJM Thanks for your quick answer! Actually interesting, my Attemps all where a failure sadly. But i will try to shake like a madman^^. Maybe you are Interestet and wanna help with my projekt , Oldshool Chaosdwarfs with Shiney Evil metal XD. PS: I Love your stuff and the attitude you are emitting. Thx for your time!
Why didn't you play the song "Shiny" from the movie Moana? It's so shiny it's damaging my eyes! ^^
I'm sure some weirdos enjoy the edge highlighting hell that is GW style 😋
I find it difficult to edge highlight like they do, mainly because I lack the patience, but it is undeniably effective for tabletop models when you are wargaming. The GW base paint, shade, highlight approach is very well thought out. The model looks great from all angles, with no particular light source, other than from above as provided by the lights wherever you happen to be and the natural shadows those same lights create.
Tbh I've always preferred TMM rather than NNM I respect NNM but it never looks right to me
