    I was so excited when I heard about the new Propilot x. The salmon dial is my favorite, but the grey is equally beautiful.

    I have this watch and LOVE it! There is nothing out that is like it in the price range. This is truly an enthusiast piece and 5 day power reserve with 10 year service intervals!

    Whilst I love the look of the watch, especially with that bracelet. I feel that Oris have cheaped out when it comes to the dial. I totally agree with you that for this price they should have done much more, at least applied markers. The fact that there is no micro adjust at this price ( over three grand here in the UK) is a definite bar to purchase for me anyway. Looking at it and comparing it with other watches currently on the market ( longines spirit collection etc) the oris needs to be around half the price that they're asking. There was no mention in the video of the problem Oris had with their new movement either being all but impossible to set correctly owing to the hands jerking back out of sync on adjustment, so I'm assuming they've sorted that problem out... Anyway at over £3000 I think I'll give this one a miss. See if I can snag one of the equally pretty, although difficult to obtain Sinn brightly coloured dial watch to scratch the itch, so to speak... Many thanks for the video though. Toodle Pip! Lol.

      Ah the Sinn 556i! I have a red dial one coming in whenever they release it and I planned to do a direct comparison with this watch as well.
      As far as the "setting the time" problem with the Calibre 400...it's still a thing, and I think it's a permanent thing because they have a section in the manual for the Calibre 400 dedicated to ways to avoid it.
      I wasn't sure if I wanted to get into it in the video but it's definitely a problem still

    I'm curious how you got these. The reason I ask is I went to an Oris event last week and even Oris didn't have any. As for this watch, I think it will be perfect when they release more dial options. And they will. Also I heard tell of a two-tone Aquis coming late summer. May be cool. Thanks!

      This should be widely available through an AD, I purchased them online from Hodinkee and they still look to be available there.
      New dial colors would definitely be interesting to see, especially a two-toned so that's exciting if true.
      Good luck finding one!

    The dial doesn't bother me at all personally. I'm hoping to see it in person in the next week or two at the AD, but from what I've seen online they look great.
    The thing that I didn't know until this video (after watching dozens recently) is the lack of a reverser on the auto winder. Really?!? What a weird omission for such a premium movement! Ugh.
    Oh and of course micro-adjustments should be present at this price point.

    • @BridgeAndBalance
      @BridgeAndBalance  Před rokem +1

      Yeah the one way automatic winder is definitely something that is disheartening for this amount of money. The dials are nice so don't be discouraged :) I just personally wished for a bit more at this price point.

      @@BridgeAndBalance saw one just about an hour ago actually! It's very nice in person!! They only had the salmon but I would order it in the blue. Might be my next watch, though I'm not quite ready yet. Soon, I hope!

    Curious about that date-window. When you compare them side by side (like at 7.45) the salmon seems not to be centered - is it just the camera angle, closer to the 9th or poor quality control?
    To bad withno luminescence on the indicies but I'll probably try to get my hands one a grey one anyhow.
    Thanks for a great walkthrough

    • @BridgeAndBalance
      @BridgeAndBalance  Před 2 lety

      I think it's mostly due to the camera angle. The date window is centered well.

    I think we aren't looking at these the correct way. Even by their own admission, these are supposed to be "playful". Modern colors on the dial, and not so many "enthusiast" details are coming from all the brands, over the next year or two. Why? to try and get younger folks interested in watches in general.

    • @BridgeAndBalance
      @BridgeAndBalance  Před rokem +1

      I personally love colorful dials, so in the respect I completely agree with you that the playful colors are nice. However I still feel that for >$4k USD these dials fall into the disappointing category for me. I personally had much higher expectations at this price point.

    • @Cotivity
      @Cotivity Před rokem

      @@BridgeAndBalance Framed like that, then yes I agree. The dials are underwhelming for the price. I was only speaking of the "youth" angle everyone is on currently...
