Been driving 32 years (way before back up cameras). My camera stopped working all together. I haven't fixed it because I can still turn my head, which I did before when the camera still worked. It is nice having them to confirm there aren't children walking behind, especially in parking lots and for trying to get out of small spaces. But always use your mirrors and eyes to look behind, use the camera as a confirmation.
No shit man you always look and not solely depend only on the backup camera. I think its more helpful if your in a grocery parking lot backing up making sure no pedestrians are walking behind you that you can't see right away. People now a days don't pay attention when they are walking thru a parking lot. They are looking down on there phone while walking to the store or just being stupid.
I agree the back up camera is an AID. I enjoy the aid, but there is nothing like seeing with the eyes for more comfort in backing up. One thing I immediately noticed when I purchased my Pro4X is the rear seat headrests block a large area of the rear window. I immediately removed them and stow them under the right rear seat. Easy to mount them if I'm carrying passengers back there. Good videos.
Gl figuring out where you are in relation to a curb looking out the back mirror of a 2ss or Zl1. 🙄
It's not parking that's the issue, there are a dozen families in the 20 houses on my street. Many have young kids that ride bikes and do not have any attention span for safety, so when I back out of my garage and driveway in my SUV with multiple blind spots, I don't want to drive over someone. The camera view shows lower down. Parking has never been an issue
If you back into your garage you can see better on the way out.
@whallzee01 I do this with my work truck but my SUV hatch doesn't fit good when I open the back to get groceries or strollers out so I need to pull into the garage but I do agree in most cases driving past to see what's in the way and then backing in is safest and quicker when you need to leave in a hurry.

@JoeChrist34 does it come on at all? I've heard a few people have a problem with it coming loose right at the plug. Looks like it's connected but if you push it a bit it clicks a tiny bit and comes back to life
Your video isn’t about fixing any back up camera. Wrong title! Maybe you could help me just a little?😅 A Chrysler dealer installed a back up camera on my 2015 300C. It works sporadically, sometimes it says "unavailable ", but stops working in early spring, and stays off until Autumn. However, sometimes it will work in hot weather and other times it won’t work in winter months. First time it malfunctioned was in 100° weather and I was parked with camera lens facing into the sun. They want more $ to diagnose the problem than what they charged me to install it. What should I look at first to diagnose problem?
@Digital.Photography if it happens in hot and cold then it's most likely a weather issues. A lot of electronics won't work in extreme heat or when it gets to cold. Are any of them battery powered or is it hardwired in?

When I use the camera for parking, I tend to park crooked. Using just the side mirrors, I can park perfectly straight and within the lines ~98.437% of the time.
That's one of the advantages of having taken Drivers Ed in High School in 1975 (and other classes later). I really feel sorry for younger generations of drivers that don't have that class offered in schools anymore and their only Drivers Education was Mario Kart and a cheat sheet for the test. (I see them all the time.)

Not everybody live in places like British Columbia. I live in Manitoba. There are heavy snowfalls while driving, and all the cars don't have wipers in the back. Not all cars can withstand some heavy snowfalls in Manitoba. Sometimes, other cars splash muddy snow into the side mirror. So what am I supposed to do? Stop in the middle of the road and keep showeling snow during rush hour? And there are elderly people who drive cars that are not fancy as yours... So what are they supposed to do. Uninstall their rear view camera and only use mirrors, as you say?
