I have been looking for a good chili seasoning that I can leave the salt out of for my Hubby. The canned tomatoes have a load of salt already and I am looking to cut the salt in foods as much as possible.

try to get garlic that is native to where you are .
example
the tomato that do very well in Florida , most likely it would do well in Newyork
I am talking about the same seed being taken from Florida to NY
that seed will do well only in Florida
now
maybe you're getting garlic that doesn't fit your soil or habitat
check into it
