For those of us that see those dried chili's in the market and have no idea what to do with them, I thank you!!! Your videos are so educational.
You are my best kept secret! My husband who is from the Yucatan always wonder's how I cook such exceptional Mexican food! 🌴🍹😊
I never even thought about making my own spices! Thank you for all of your recipes, and showing us how to make them.
Cleanest kitchen ever. Sure the rest of your house is extremely clean and organized 👌 🙂😘🤗
Thank you so much, I do try my best and love having a clean home my friend. ❤️
Omg Rachel, we have been roasting several pounds of Hatch Chiles. Not thinking I rubbed both of my eyes and experienced the most painful burning sensation in my eyes. I’m writing to share what helped the most. First I tried saturating cotton balls with milk and dabbing my eyes but received no relief. My wife read about using the back portion of my hands and washing my eyes out with baby shampoo and rinsing several times with water. Lastly I rinsed my eyes with a bunch of saline solution from contact lenses. The saline helped tremendously! I recommend for anyone working with Chiles to keep a big bottle of saline solution and baby shampoo near by!
Thanks for your wonderful recipes!
Jorden
also milk, but obviously you can't use it in your eyes, but it works well on skin.
Good to know 💝
Wonderful!!! Now I can make my own. Takes cooking to a whole new level! Thanks, Rachel!🌸
You’re welcome my friend.❤️
This gives me a way to elevate my dad's recipes I loved growing up, back to the way his Tia used to make, ¡muchas gracias! I never knew how much she put into cooking for us.
Hi Rachel, thanks so much for all the wonderful recipes. They’ve all been just delicious . It’s hard to pick a favorite but the enchilada casserole and the chorizo are a family request often! I love to cook, it’s my happy place. Thanks for sharing. Blessings always

Thanks for the education on how to use chilles. When I was younger I was not interested in cooking. Now with my family I want to cook authentic Mexican food but I don't know how to use the spices and chillies. That's why I LOVE your channel.
Thank you so much, I'm so happy I can help.❤️
Oh sweet amiga what a true wonder woman you are! Showing us how to make chili powder and it's really simple. Your love of cooking and your love of sharing your talent and delicious food with us is such a blessing to all of us. Definitely will try making this chili powder. By the way, last night's dinner of your spaghetti and meatballs was a total hit. Love the taste of your sauce. Here's a wish for a beautiful and blessed week for you dear Rachel and your Ron. Lots of love sent your way.
I agree with you about homemade chili powder, I have been making my own for several years and in fact growing, drying and grinding my own, but getting the correct blend is not always easy.
I love the mix you just made; I will be making some myself, homemade is surely best, thank you for sharing 😀
Do you know what peppers are made to make paprika? Thank you!
I always share your videos. You are my favorite of any cooking videos. I never miss a video. You are a beautiful person, a fantastic teacher and a master cook! Your husband is a very lucky man! Seems like you are also blessed to have him. Thank you Rachel!
I have always seen the dried chili's in the grocery store and also always buy chili powder. It never really occurred to me that it was something I could make myself. You have a way of taking us through the recipe that makes it look so simple. You are an excellent teacher Rachel. Thank you for another great recipe.
You are so lovely and an amazing teacher. I am so happy I found you.
I bought some chilies a while back and really just forgot about them. Then I ran out of chile powder and instead of buying more that is now so expensive, I found your video on how to make it from scratch. I was a little nervous, but you are the best teacher. You make us feel right at home, just like we are family! I'm Italian, but my favorite food has always been Mexican food! Now I'm so excited to use my own homemade chili powder in my next Mexican dish. Thank you so much for cooking with love. It's catchy!😋💕
My husband and I are having enchiladas tonight, they just went in the oven. Thank you 🙏🏼

important to me and I always notice this. You're very special and I love your videos. Ron is very lucky to have you. Margie Stahlheber, Oklahoma City
Rachel, YOU NEVER DISAPPOINT!!!!!
QUESTION? Love, love, love your videos. I went to 1 mexican grocery store and 2 regular grocery stores that had large ethnic food sections and bought bags of chiles from all 3. None of the ancho were near the size you showed. If you could include the approximate amount of the chiles after grinding, that would be most appreciated. After grinding my Guajillo chiles, I had 4 tsp; these also seemed small compared to yours. My ground anchos (I used 5 due to the small sizes) yielded 8 tablespoons. Are this amounts what to expect for the recipe? Hope to hear back. Keep up all the amazing videos please. L
Yes, I am wondering too. Would you please provide what dried ground measurement we should end up with after processing?
You're amazing, Rachel!! Thank you for this great video.

You are so welcome!
You're the sweetest lady. I enjoy your presentations
I have watched this several Times and finally ordered my peppers to make it. Thank you for sharing Your knowlege
I've been watching you for a while now but have strayed off to see what other people are doing. What you're doing is teaching people to cook authentic Mexican foods is an easy to understand format. I'm in Denver and every restaurant I go to serves pre-made red and green chili and that's a drag because everything tastes great except for their cookie cutter chili sauce. So bravo to you. I also think your enchilada sauce has a greater depth of flavor than just about everyone out there...thanks for your lessons, they go a long way with me!
Rachel, I'm making this! I'm never happy with store bought chili blends! Thank you!
Thanks for sharing all your wisdom! I have learned a lot and I love watching your channel!
Thank you so much my friend, I appreciate your support and comment.❤️

Hi Rachel. Thanks for this video. It's exactly what I was looking for and you are so thorough. Bless you. :)
I make my chili powders also. I make a mix also that my son in law uses as a pork rub for my tamales and smokes the pork for my tamales.
Thank you so much for this information it's very helpful!

I made ur shrimp fettuccine Alfredo tonight for supper and my husband is in love with it. He does all the cooking unless I want to try a new recipe so it is a big deal.
That is awesome!
Rachael , you are the best , amazing cook, making your own chili powder, wow, cant wait to try this
My mom made the best chili and now they no longer make the chili powder she always used and so I will try your recipe to see if it tastes similar. Thank you so much for the recipe!!
I have some left over dried chili’s. I’m definitely going to try this. I like the tip to make a small amount because it can sometimes lose some flavor after six months. Thank you so much.
I love your channel. You remind me of my aunts in Albuq. Who canned (etc). It’s you voice which is so soothing and calm. Thank you, Rachel Cooks with Love. I enjoy all that you do 😁
I have some dried chilies in my cabinet I'm totally making this❤️❤️ thank u so much☺️😊
We are fortunate to have a wonderful Mexican-American community, 2 authentic stores, 15 minutes away in Fremont, Ohio & Lindsey, Ohio to source the peppers and other products in your recipes. I can't wait to try your recipe and use your chili powder recipe for it more authentic taste I'm hoping. 😊. Ps: Rachel, if you get back to Ohio and go to Lake Erie, or for those of you who are reading this from Northwest Ohio. Get out your GPS and check out these stores check out these stores: El Aguila - Fremont, Lindsey Village Market - they have great takeout tooThey are only about 35 minutes from Toledo.
I bet that is really delicious with all of the fresh ingredients!!😋😋
Yes it is, thank you.❤️
Thank you for the recipes! I can wait to make my own chili powder!
