    I like this review. It is very objective. Gives both pros and cons to both phones. I like both phones and I like what lg brings to the table. It may be gimmicky and a little inconsistent but I hope LG continue to improve on it. But great job explaining that both phones despite its differences can appeal to buyers. • @mack2771
      @mack2771 Před 4 lety +2

      @@syedozzie671 honestly I love my phone. I had an LG G4 before and hated it so I wanted to see if LG had improved and they truly have. I guess my main reason forgetting this phone was the inclusion of a digital to analog converter. Also it has double the memory and two gigs more RAM than the Galaxy S9 had. I'm not the one to upgrade for any reason generally though just because of that but it turned out my annual upgrade was available and my carrier Sprint had a special promotion where I can get the LG G8 for $10 a month. Also as much as I like Samsung I have them for a while and just wanted to try something new. For the most part I have no complaints except for every once in awhile the phone seems a tiny bit more sluggish than Samsung. However it's still a super-fast device I just seems to hang when going back to the home screen sometimes. The battery life is far far superior and it makes an audible time to let me know when the battery is low. The sound quality is way way better. The phone is wider which I like easier to type on. It is larger which I like as I use a wallet case. Also I like having a dedicated Google Assistant button. The one downfall is the Wi-Fi signal strength and they ope signal strength although left though are both slightly weaker than the Samsung but not a huge deal. Overall I highly recommend the LG device especially for someone that likes music or audio. Also saving $10 a month probably 15 I think actually does it hurt one bit.

    LG screen has better viewing angles, it is less curved.
    You can use LG in a loud environment with the new speaker.
    You will want to use the G8 gestures when you cook for example (your hands are dirty) or if your hands are wet.

    I'm conflicted but historically I've had better luck with LG products in the long run. Samsung mobile products start out great but they tend to become buggy, sluggish, and cant hold their charge worth a damn after a few months. This has happened to me more than once. LG's don't have the same polish but they (with the exception of the LG G5) were better for the long haul.

      My G3 took care of me. I loved that phone so much. I switched to an HTC One M8 and hated every minute of it and even went back to my old Galaxy S4 Active for a little while because I could hardly stand it. Finally got a G6 when it first came out. I dropped it a few months into ownership and the vibrator motor quit working (probably from a weak solder) and LG sent me a new one. LG recently sent me a brand new G6 (it's black, not the Platinum I had originally, but since it was new and not a refurbished model, I didn't complain) under their 2 year warranty because my fingerprint sensor only worked intermittently. Well, turns out, fingerprint sensors just don't like my fingerprints, so the warranty exchange was useless 😂 I may fork out for a new G8 and keep my G6 as a backup.

Well, I was given an LG for free (I work for Sprint), and I prefer it to the Samsung. The in screen fingerprint is annoying. The screen, while great looking, isn't as good as the LG. The LG also lags less. This is probably due to the LG "skin" not being as robust as the Samsung. All in all, they are both great phones. Currently S10 and G8 used phones are available at Lazada and Shoppee for USD 180 and 115 respectively. Since the specs are similar, naturally the choice would be G8, but actual fact the S10 sells much more than G8. The main reason that I can think of is the comparatively unpopular LG track record in the hand phone business, which makes sense for them to come to a painful yet right decision to shutdown the phone business altogether.

    @cnnw3929 Před 4 lety +1

    When you consider some of the deals you can get on an LG G8 ThinQ, the price/performance ratio makes the Samsung a bit less practical. The only advantage the Samsung has over the LG in this case, is the availability of cases and display guards. Even so, Otter Box still has a version of their Defender case for the LG. The Samsung does have a telephoto lens, but let's be real. No smartphone can come close in comparison to even the lowest priced DSLR with interchangeable lenses, which makes the Samsung less of a bargain since it costs twice as much as a Nikon D3500 with a kit lens, which you can buy with the price difference between the Samsung and the LG. You can even add a fast 50mm lens for the Nikon and still come out ahead.
    So if you are into any type of photography other than gun and run, the difference between the phones cameras become moot. Which brings us down to what each phone can do: Make and place calls, watch videos on a 6" screen, scan QR codes, keep up to date with Facebook, check store coupons, snap a quick photo or selfie for Instagram, and so forth. Both have these tasks down in spades, but the LG does it at essentially less than half the cost of the Samsung when sales are considered. In the end, it all depends on the bank account, and which one looks and feels the best. You can't go wrong with the LG. If I had fat wallet and money to splurge, I would go with the Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Plus. Or, perhaps an Apple iPhone 11 Pro Max. Why buy Timex watch when you can afford a Rolex?

      " Why go with Rolex (Note 10+, 11Pro Max) when the G8 (Timex) does most things better? If you spend more for lesser at that point your going off brand recognition in hopes of others thinking you're of a higher quality of living, when in fact your just a douche seeking the approval of others -_-.

    • @cnnw3929
      @cnnw3929 Před 4 lety

New phone, no retail packaging, I'm willing to bet the wall charger isn't original while the seller says it is. The only issue I have with the phone is the seller claims it's a factory unlocked phone. I've been buying factory unlocked phones for over 3 years. None of them displayed a carrier logo right after boot up. However, my G8 displays Sprint. If it's a factory unlocked phone then every other unlocked phone I've ever owned got it wrong, but I know they didn't. Regardless, I won't know just how good it is for another 6 days. The LG G8' s standard lens will take 12 MP shots only if it is half screen. If we make the display full screen, the resolution of the camera is down to 7.7 MP. People prefer to take full screen shots, however unfortunately, it is only 7.7 MP. If you choose 12 MP as camera's resolution, then the full screen will be turned off and most probably, you would not like a half screen photos. Half screen is good if you are taking portraits. For landscapes, everyone prefers full screen.
    Similarly, the wide angle lens is only 10 MP if you choose full screen option. If you need 16 MP, the screen will be reduced to almost half, which then is not wide angle at all.
    I do not know why LG did this. Even the LG G4 and G5 phones had 16 MP cameras and I believe that the resolution did not change even when it was full screen. I am really disappointed with what LG did with G8's camera.
