KIND FILIPINO Saved Me from A Fraught Situation Before Buglasan Festival 🙏 Bais City, Philippines 🇵🇭

- It was 28th October 2022, a day before Buglasan Festival in Dumaguete. I was driving from Kabankalan to Dumaguete to see the festival. The weather was terrible on that day because a typhoon was passing by Luzon causing downpours everywhere.
I was driving at night, and the road in the mountains was so dark because there was almost no street light. While going downhill, I noticed that the headlight flickered and the engine became on and off quickly. Some ten seconds later, the engine suddenly stopped and all the lights went off.
I was left in the darkness with a broken motorcycle. Considering the technical difficulty of the issue, I thought I would need to go to the city to fix it. However, it was very far from the nearest city, and I had no choice but pushed my motorcycle.
While pushing it, a local guy on his motorcycle asked me about my situation, so I explained it. He told me he could tow my motorcycle to Bais City and drove back somewhere and came back with a rope. He tied it to his motorcycle and mine and drove to the city.
However, when we arrived in the city, all the repair shops were closed, but he called one of his friends and towed me again to his place. There were 5 to 6 guys there, and they gathered around my motorcycle and started to look into the problem.
According to them, the ignition switch was the problem, and they brought cables and attached it to let the electricity run again. It worked, and the engine started. In the end, it took them one hour to fix it, and while repairing it, they neither complained nor asked for money or anything. They even guided me to the nearest pension house for me to stay because I was not confident to drive all the way to Dumaguete with the condition of my motorcycle.
I have encountered and experienced an act of kindness from my people while living in the Philippines, but this one was particularly helpful. I couldn't be happier that I happened to see the kindest guy on the earth when I needed it the most, so thank you very much for the help.
Filipinos don't have much but they are respectful and kind people.
Yeah, they might not have much but have a bigger heart 🙂🙂
I disagree that we don’t have much, we have blessed enough of everything.. contentment in life is enough to say we have everything

That was called "BAYANIHAN"😊😊😊.. Filipino love's helping each other even without payback or Monetary donations but a simple thank you is a big deal to us.❤❤❤❤❤..
Oh, thank you for telling me that 😀😀 Yeah, I've encountered a lot of kindness from Filipino people 🙂🙂
Sadly it is slowly dying.
You are not a nobody to us, you are our guest, so we must help you
That's so kind 😊😊
That's the Filipino Spirit.. So kind and hospitable
Yes, it is ☺️☺️
Don't worry Heita, when you're in trouble, Filipinos will come out of their way to help you out and for free. We even get a bit offended if you insist to pay us for service we gladly and voluntarily give.
Yeah, I've seen and met a lot of kind people like them 🙂 Filipino is the best 😀😀
Japanese people although reserved are also the same. I had very good experiences when I went to Japan. Even though some do not speak english, they still went out of their way to help us when we we were lost...they even escorted us to the right place.
Hahaha, yeah we like to escort people because we want to make sure that you are at the right place 😆 It's very relatable to most Japanese people 😆😆
@@Heita_the_ExplorerJapanese are also generous and kind. Very respectful, too. Among all Asian contemporaries, Japanese people are closest to my heart.
5:31 I just noticed that when they were fixing the Motorcycle they were Smiling!
They genuinely helped you fix it without any hesitation... VERY NOICE! 😁👍
Yes, they were smiling and cheerful while they were fixing my motorcycle cycle without complaining anything. It was genuine kindness 😊😊
That's is one of our characteristics, " BAYANIHAN SYSTEM" means helping someone in need together.
Enjoy your ride and discover more fun in the Philippines 💖 😂 🤣
Oh, that's good to know 😊 Thank you very much 😄😄
I'm happy because my fellow Filipinos because they still being Christian, kindness, helpful, lover to their fellow human. Our God Jesus CHRIST will be HAPPY.
🙏🙏🙏
its funny to think that us filipinos really like to compete with each other but when someone needs help we will do what it takes to help that person.
Hahaha, that helps someone like me more 😁😁
Most Filipinos would offer help in a heartbeat if they know they can help you out. Most would not mention or ask for something in return. If you hadnt given them any money im sure it would have been fine with them as well. But thanking them by giving is most appreciated 😊.
In the end, Im sure theyre just happy to help.
Yeah, true 🙂 Rather than getting ripped off by greedy hustlers, I'd like to give my money away to kindhearted people 😃😃
so happy to hear good comments from a foreigner about filipinos..i'm so glad you notice filipino kindness and hope you love and enjoy philippines..✌️✌️✌️
Thank you!!! 😃
One of the reasons living in the Philippines 👍❤
Yes it is!! 😁😁
True....most Filipinos are helpful. I am glad that now there was so much foreigners who experience the hospitality of our fellow country men. Foreigners starting to trust our country and our people.
Sad that some politicians ruined our image just so they could be heard.
But now social media pave ways to transparency, making foreigners realized the true colors of us FILIPINOS.
Thanks for sharing your stories and salute to all the Filipino guys in your video, so... so.... proud of you Kabayans.
Yes, Filipino is very helpful and kind 🙂🙂 That was my intention when I was making this video 😊😊
Filpinos kindness is another level.
We love and treat others like ours with genuine interest, we called people power . Proud being a Filipino 😊
Yes, it is!! It's on another level of kindness 😃😃
I noticed there is a sense of brotherhood for anyone and everyone riding motorcycles here as well. a rider who's broken down at the side of the road, a passing rider will come to their aid- always.
Yes, it's not only them who wanted to help me but also other people on the road who were willing to give me a help 😀😀🙏
Yes, it's normal for us motorcycle rider to help each other not only in the provinces but most likely to cities.. just put down your helmet on the ground and a motorcycle rider will help u.. putting helmet on the ground indicate that u need help.. god bless you and more power
Awww i dunno why i got teary eyed with this simple gesture done by my kababayans to a foreigner.
Ohhh, thank you so much for saying that 😊😊
Salamat mga pinoy. Keep on helping others. God will bless you more. Many appreciate your help
So do I to Filipino people 😀😀
Most of Filipinos are generous and kind hearted
Yes they are ☺️☺️
I chanced upon this video unexpectedly. I was touched by those filipinos who willingly offered to help you. It is our way of helping those who are in need especially foreigners. I had a lot of respect to the japanese people because of your discipline! Hoping to get some more videos in the future because I enjoyed watching japanese vloggers like Mana Hello and you as well. Your content is somewhat different... SUBSCRIBED!
Hi, thank you for subscribing my channel 😃 I know Mana and her channel is in the Japanese format with a lot of pop-up texts but speaks in English. My channel doesn't copy it because I mostly watch CZcams in English and am aiming for the channels I watch regularly, so I think that's why my channel is a bit different from other Japanese vloggers.
Mostly pilipinos r kind 👍. N good. God bless philippines n 🙏all my kbbyans.

Very true as a Filipino I receive a lot of kindness from total stranger. Sometimes you are surprise that they help you out of the blue. Like when Iost my money i already ordered a take out food but the guy behind the line offered to pay it for me. When i stand in the mrt a young woman offered a sit for me even im still not too old woman. When I ride a jeep and I have a big bag then a guy offered to carry it for me when i came down from the jeep. There's so much kindness around us here in the Philippines.
Yeah, I've encountered a lot of kindness like you did 😃 It's a good country to be 😊😊

Hello, new subscriber here. I was listening to your narration and am happy to see that Filipino people are good in helping people specially to foreigners.
Thank you for subscribing 🙂🙂
Yes, Filipino people are very helpful to foreigners 😊😊
It is truly amazing how I hear of my fellow countrymen being genuinely generous to take the time and effort to help a total stranger in need, and not even worry about any monetary return. I have lived in the United States most of my life, and from time to time I visit the homeland of my heritage. 🇵🇭🇵🇭…..For me, it’s pleasantly surprising to see this because, here in America, it’s not often that we come across kindness like this, especially with the fast paced lifestyle, and everyone only looking out for themselves without any consideration for their fellow citizens…..even if someone is in dire need of help. Thank goodness for you Heita, you’ve been blessed with kindness from a people that I truly call “ The Heart Of The Philippines “ …..always caring, always willing, and always with a smile. I am happy, and proud to say I am Filipino and I wish you safe travels in all your journeys in the Philippines 🇺🇸🇵🇭🇺🇸🇵🇭🇺🇸🇵🇭🇵🇭Bless you Sir for posting 😇🙏🏍️👍
Oh, thank you for watching my video from US ❤️
Its rarely you will get help here in US because they mind their own business and they are afraid they will get in trouble if they help. It’s different here in US they are paranoid with strangers. Even just asking name here they think you are a stalker
Putres kasing California (the lead State na mahilig sa lawsuits), kaya nung dumating kami sa California in '84 and as growing up when I was 14, naintindihan ko na why people, neighbors, friends, etc are reluctant to sometimes play with other kid's of other nationalities or ethnicities because if some gets injured, high % na lawsuits gonna be involved. hindi gaya sa pinas na play at your own risk...just dont think about it. so yun nga, mga tao's atitutudes have changed in America- they/ we have become not matulungin because of that. I'm not saying lahat na hindi na matulungin, but is one big reason.
First time to watch you...more video ❤
Thank you so much 😃 More videos to come!!
Filipinos don't grow up in expensive things but rich in respectful manner.
Yes they are 🙂🙂
Thanks about hospitality kind of our country men and you upload to your Channel
You're welcome 😊 but their act of kindness should be known 😊😊
That's awesome man, we Filipinos don't have much but we will always make an effort to help out if we can.
I was up in the mountains in Cebu with my cousins one time I was on holiday and we were at a recreational track that host ATV rides, whenever there were mechanical shorts with our vehicles the staff simply fiddled with the wires and spliced them back together on the spot if they got separated or loosened after jump impact.
Is that Adventure Park? Yeah, many Filipino people know how to fix 2 wheels or 4 wheels 😁😁
This is wholesome bro! 🥰
Thank you 😊
Oh my! I am from Bais! Glad our people helped!
And you're also one of the kind Bais people 🙂🙂
THANK U ALSO JAPAN FOR BEING A GOOD FRIENDS TO THE PHILIPPINES.
So as the Philippines 😃😃 Salamat po 😊
I’m Filipino and things that I take for granted, amaze me when foreigners tell stories like this. I’ve become more appreciative of my mga kababayan with numerous blogs that I watch attesting to the kindness of us Pinoys.
I think everyone would be impressed if you're treated in that way! I didn't expect someone to step in and help because it was late at night 😖
Don't worry, even if you are Japanese, you are not an enemy of Filipinos... let's just forget what happened in the past..As long as you are in the Philippines, everyone in need is helped
Oh, thank you very much 😊😊
I hope your channel gain more subs. Quality content
Thank you very much 😊
Yeah this is a very prevalent and authentic filipino character, it's very easy for them to extend helping hands...it is what we call "bayanihan" trait. AND they also like the challenge ☺️ women on the hand, are more on the caring and nurturing side, if you're hungry and have no money we will feed you 😊
Yeah, I've learnt Bayabihan from the comments I've received here 🙂 It was not only this occasion but also had I encountered kind help multiple times while I was living there 😊😊

Idk. We filipinos just love to help for some reason. It makes us feel good offering service without expecting anything in return. If ur satisfied and happy, thats already good payment
Yeah, I've encountered it a lot while living in the Philippines 😊😊
People around the world are kind. Last Thursday evening I was on my way to an appointment and ended up with a puncture in my rear bicycle tyre. I was struggling to pump it up with a shitty cheap tyre pump, but wasn't getting anywhere. I saw another cyclist pass by and asked if he had a bike pump with him, but he didn't. He also had his young daughter with him sat in a child seat on the back of the bike. He said he lived nearby and would be back.
About 5-10 minutes later he returned, with his daughter carrying a large bike pump, and he allowed me to use it. I pumped the tyre to 20psi, and then took it off, but we could hear a hissing noise, and the tyre was instantly flat again, which confirmed it was a puncture and not just flat. I thanked him for his help and pushed my bike to my appointment, and after the appointment was done, I pushed my bike to my sisters place, which was fairly close by to repair the puncture.
The guy who helped me was English
Yeah, two things that Filipino excels are kindness and being able to speak English relatively well even though you go to the countryside 🙂 I'm in Thailand now and people here are as kind as Filipino but I'm struggling to communicate with them 😅 While I was in the Philippines, I appreciated every help I got there 🙂🙂

i something experience similar to this, me and my brother biking to our cousins to make them repair our laptop but when we are almost at the house of our cousin i notice my brother out of breath and almost fall on his knees at the time it was hot 1 pm i go to the nearest shop to buy a water and when i came back many people gathered helping my brother who is sitting and a bit dizzy, giving him water and such.
Wow, what a rough day but it seems that your brother was in the right place to be looked after 😀😀
1K is a cheap price for such generosity. You can even see the guy looking confused and hesitated when you tried to handed the 1K bill.
Oh, I might have given more 😅
No, i don’t think they were expecting anything or anything more than what you gave. He looked confused because i think it was kind of awkward for him whether to accept or not. I believe they were just genuinely being helpful.
@@Heita_the_Explorer I would suggest bought food or drinks and join them after fixing your bike they will be more willing to accept your suppose "service fee" 😆😆😆

See, when bffs decide to help out, they would go about it and have fun along the way. The feeling of togetherness is already enough for them.

You see this kind of kindness with poor people.. most rich filipinos nah.. corrupt and plastic. But yeah.. specially with provincial area.. we are good to the bones.
Yeah, the province life is better 😊😊
But sometimes, be mindful not to over use our kindness.. we call it "inabuso ang kabaitan" meaning you take advantage the kindness.. filipinos are revengeful. Take what you sow, an eye for an eye..
