If the Switch had accurate gyroscopes this COULD actually work as a proper VR headset. Headaches and retina damage would probably still be inevitable though...

That's the reason why they didn't include a head strap on the original virtual boy because strapping it to your head would encourage you to keep it on too long

It would be a gimmick that developers wouldn't support and Nintendo would forget about, just like the IR camera on the Joy Con. Screen resolution would have to be higher than 1080p to be taken seriously, especially given the fact the cheaper Quest 3 Lite is coming soon.
