Everything about this pistol screams "I was built just for you Mike!" I have really big gorilla hands and this pistol fits me SOOO well. The serrations are the best, like you said a few times. The slide lock, release is perfectly shaped. The grip feels like it was molded just for my hands. Best trigger hands down, period. I put a Floyds Custom magwell on mine, (but that did mean I had to spend more money on mag extensions, oh well) and it makes the grip feel even better, more secure in my hand. I have a Holosun 508T on top that compliments this thing beautifully. Zero slide-bite from the slide. And the return to zero is so fast and predictable. This is the best polymer frame pistol, hands down, on the market, in my opinion. I switched from my Glock 17 to the PDP for my service pistol, and I've NEVER looked back.

Because they cloned it after the Walther design”. Me not knowing too much about Walther’s, he let me shoot his PDP and he shot my Canik. He actually praised my Canik and the upgrades Salient arms did with Canik on the Elite Combat. Such as the barrel and the good, heavy steel rear sight and fiber optic steel front sight. He loved the trigger on it, as do I. I was equally impressed with his Walther even though I don’t know a lot about the different brands out there. I love the serrations on the Walther! the grip is incredible. So guess what I just did last week? Ordered a Walther PDP! I have a really nice Walther clone. So I figured why not get the original! My only worry is that because I have such a high support hand grip, I'll pin the slide release and won't get slide lock back. Glocks have aftermarket raised slide releases, but PDP doesn't really have a whole bunch of aftermarket support.
Also I appreciate a reviewer who can actually shoot. Nice sub 6in groupings. Nothing makes me discredit a review faster than when the reviewer throws rounds all over a huge man shaped silhouette target at 20 yards

I have let several people at the range shoot them and a couple have said they would be buying one. I have a PDP 4.5 inch full size and 4 inch compact. I have over 25,000 rounds through my full size and 12,000 rounds through my compact, with no failures.I liked them so much I bought a full size for my son and a,PDP F for my daughter, they both love them too. The only problem I had was finding a shoulder holster for the gun. I did find a guy locally who makes custom holsters mostly for hunters and he made me three, one for each gun and then one that carries both, one on each side. He asked me why I wanted the double holster I said what if I get shot in the righr hand or otherwise lose use of it. Just another Walther fan.

I love my pdp. Really it's only negative is the high bore access which can be mitigated with a stronger grip. Ended up getting their 50n tungsten guide rod and grabbed a brass backstrap painted black and that really helped balance out the pistol. I've put over 4k rounds through mine and have had multiple issues with their "new" magazines with the blue follower. The springs are MUCH weaker than the original ones that came with the red followers. Once the magazine has seen maybe 400 rounds they become far too weak and star causing failure to feeds.

Two of the best OR pistols out of the box optic wise, is the PDP and the FN 509. The biggest issue with the majority of OR pistols are the fact that the optics cut was an after thought, with the PDP and 509 it was built with the intent to be OR.

I have to admit you’ve got me with the video title. But I’ve expected the outcome of this video. I’ve bought the Walther Q5 SF expert for iron sight competitions, I didn’t like the trigger and the slide of the CZ Shadow 2. As a German, picking the Walther has a neat little advantage, if you are shooting state or nation wide competition, there is always a Walther booth with spare parts should you need one. Unfortunately I can’t buy as many 9mm guns as I want, but I can buy a second for competitions wich are done with optics. So the FullSize PDP Pro SD will be my next 9mm ❤

Love my PDP, but I shoot my VP9 so much better naturally. I’m sure training more with the PDP would iron out my wrinkles but the only guy and I like more than the PDP is the VP nine and it’s just because I have never naturally shot a gun better. Build quality and all of that stuff I would say they’re pretty equal and it’s really kind of like Ferrari Lamborghini in my eyes. I’m just so glad I have both and I would hate to have to pick one but if I had to pick just one I would have to go with the VP9 just because I feel I’d shoot it better under stress.

It's $829 while the standard PDP 4.5 is $649 but only comes with 2 mags, extra mags run $49. Those are Alaska prices they may vary by state and store.

I shoot my P365XL build significantly more than my PDP. It's just flat out more fun to shoot. I've considered changing some things up on the PDP, but I'm not sure if it's worth it. I could just switch to Smith or go back to Glock which I shot fine, but the options for optics ready slides just weren't there for the 19.5 at the time.
PS. The grip texture is actually really weak. I don't know if mine is just worn down after a year+, but it's honestly kinda slippery. I genuinely don't understand why they gave us the terrible texture on the front strap. Front and back strap should be AGGRESSIVE, and the side texture should be close to what you get with Smith. As for the slide serrations, the P10F is more aggressive and they aren't as deep.
As for hot spots, I found that right above my knuckle on my thumb I actually do get a bit of a hot spot if I choke up really aggressively. Never had that issue with Glock. The grip of the P10F, and the Wilson Combat Module are definitely more ergonomic for me.
I really hope people don't take this video super seriously. This is not an objective review of the PDP. It's a good gun, but it is not THIS good. It needs more grip texture, the slide is overly bulky for no reason, the trigger is decent but honestly triggers aren't something I really fuss about, the optic cut is deep but that isn't really a selling point since you can get other guns milled or you can buy something like a Shadow systems that has a deep cut. If you buy the PDP thinking it's going to be the BEST, then you might end up really happy or really dissapointed. I bought it because it was optics ready, and I wanted to give Walther a chance. Now that I've given it a chance, I think I'm just going to stick with Smith or Glock in the future for polymer and BUL for 2011's.

I agree! Only thing I don't like is the finish on the slide is already wearing. I've had it for a month and a half and the sharp, pointy edges on the slide are worn through to bare metal the gun hasn't seen a holster yet. If it's not in my hand it's in the case. Other than that, this pistol is stellar.

Nothing I can pinpoint. The gun is never holstered. If it's not in my hand, it's in the case or on a clean table. This really bugs me. I may see if Walther will warranty this.
If not, I'll buy another damn slide. The Walther is the only firearm I own with this problem. I'm not into the "battle worn" look. I prefer my little arsenal stay as close to pristine as I can keep them.

My first option out of a list of around 12 pistols - is the WALTHER PDP PRO SD with 9mm 18+1, Holosun 508T-RD-X2; and the Streamlight TLR-1HL. I spend several months and many hours on CZcams listening to what others have to say about performance and reliability. Went to the range and test fired it. All I kept saying was "HOLY SHIT.....WOW" and I was very impressed with my shot group (no not the side of a barn). I say around 25 feet and paper targets. As all the commentators and firearms' enthusiast - The Walther PDP PRO SD pistol (in my opinion) stands out as a pinnacle of modularity and versatility in the world of duty pistols. With an array of features catering to customization and adaptability, this firearm exemplifies innovation in design. I love how it fits in my hands and the esthetics.
Here's what I think about it's Performance: The Walther PDP PRO SD pistol delivers on its promise (watch the many videos - yes! on CZcams) of being a duty-ready firearm. The combination of these features translates into a reliable and user-friendly shooting experience. The modularity not only enhances performance but also accommodates individual shooter preferences.
Durability: Walther has a history of producing durable and reliable firearms, and the PDP PRO SD appears to continue this tradition. Quality materials and precision engineering contribute to the pistol's longevity, making it a reliable companion in various duty scenarios. Conclusion: The Walther PDP PRO SD pistol stands as a testament to the brand's commitment to innovation and user-centric design. Its modular features, including the Picatinny rail, optics-ready capability, reversible mag release, and various customization options, make it an excellent choice for those seeking a duty pistol that adapts to their unique needs. Walther has successfully combined versatility with performance, resulting in a firearm that meets the high standards expected of a duty pistol.
LASTLY: I say to always check for the latest reviews and user feedback (CZcams) to ensure you get the latest up-to-date information on any weapon ....you paying for it. Might as well do your homework.
