    This is a pinned comment about my Subscriber Nick’s headphones Amplifier If anyone is interested or have questions. He is still improving the design so any suggestions specifically about OpAmp suggestions to try are welcome. Please be kind.

      Sparkos op amps are really good, from my personal experience. They also offer voltage regulators, which I haven’t tried yet. Awesome project!

      I suggest Staccatto discrette opamps. Even better than Sparkos. Made in Poland, can be supplied only + voltage (min 10V)

      @@yellow_noise3 YES!! I have been doing a bit of research and decided on picking up the dual discrete staccato. As for the input capacitors, I decided to go with Miflex who is also from Poland!

    Hi Gabby, thank you for all of these Ian Canada build videos. They are very helpful. I have one question: for securing the UC Pure to the cable ties, why not use nylon standoffs? Would it be safer?

    • @Gabster1
      @Gabster1  Před 4 měsíci

      Yes you can great idea maybe a bit better
      The standoffs are not connected to the circuits of the ucpure so even if both connect to the shell of the UC’s you should be ok

    I really like these builds and thank you for the step by step guide!
    Can i ask for a video where you replace those scary big ultracaps...and do a bunch of linerar pi duals, with ucconditioners to power the rasperi pi, the fifoq7, the dac, the opa861. With a small explaning on how to choose the toroidal transformers how you connect everything . I am in europe for example and have acces to really good transformers from toroidy caled supreme audio grade v2 but choosing the parameters it,s tricky!
    We use 220V grid....
    If i use a dual linear pi i would need a dual rail transformer....of what value if the parts need 3,3 5 or 15V.....and what VA shoud the transformer be...50VA,100VA...and how to calculate what to get based on what the parts neeed!
    Thank you and cheers!

      I will be doing a Video like yo suggested and showing various options from inexpensive to numerous late caps
      You may want to check the PutePi platform cheaper, easier, no big caps

      You can do that with the Dual LinearPi
      also link of the transformer or Ifi I use in the description. The link below takes you to that part of the Video.

    Hi Gaby, thanks for this additional great video 👍 I recently built myself the very same 3V3 Super Cap Power Supply using Ian Canada's PCPs. But I struggled to short-circuit the two SMT resistances for the 3V3 adaptation in trying to keep them as you did, because during the soldering process the resistors tended to detach themselves by sticking to the soldering iron tip - and then it was a mess to retrieve them ! How did you manage this, e.g. using a very small soldering iron or so ? Or something to avoid the SMT resistances to move away from the circuit ? Any tip for this appreciated, thanks !

    • @Gabster1
      @Gabster1  Před 3 měsíci

      short dabs less then 1 second one side at a time you may have stayed too long . Also precover your wires with a vit of solder then it is easier.
      hope that helps no worries you can order new ones if you ever need to can even use thru hole resistors easier to solder.

      Hello, The most critical area regarding power supply seems to be the '' surroundings '' of the clocks on the fifopi. So there one could use ucpure with 3000F or some smaller but still big caps as has been shown a few days a go. All other areas with lower current like the dac can be done by using Tent shunts saving money and space. Making things more compact could give sonic improvement too. Ian did not visit his thread since 3 March so you need to find some guidance amongst other users. Greetings, Eddy@@ronnyskaar3737
