Why do you recommend hospital grade outlets for a stereo system? Hospital grade outlets are designed for a strong grip, not for low noise and high conductivity like a Furutech or Audience outlet that's specifically designed for high-end audio. And there's a world of difference between a $50 power cord and a $1000 power cord that you may or may not hear without a good power conditioner such as a Puritan or Audience. In many if not most cases, a dedicated line is not going to replace a good power conditioner.

SO! At last, I did it! I just built my humble Raspberry Touchscreen streamer for CZcams music! Yes, I know, CZcams music isn't the most audiophile source out there, but: I DON´T CARE! I am just happy, that it works...lol. It was a long way from my PC over "audiophile Smartphone" to this raspy Volumio Device, but now it works! And I am happy! OMG... And it happened really fast the last few days. As soon as I found some of some Hans Beekhuizen videos by Coincidence, my mind was set- and I purchased the touchscreen first, then the Housing, then some cables! SO: at the beginning, I built the Raspberry Pi3B+ with a Touchscreen. And the Touchscreen was without UI and void; darkness was upon the face of the screen. And my Spirit moved upon the Touchscreen to find some Ideas. And I said, Let there be light: and there was light!

Why install rock if i can just install the windows version on my nuc. Tks

In order to best isolate vibrations, you'd need to know the frequency and amplitude of the vibration input and the mass of the system you are trying to isolate. There are 3 ways to reduce vibrations being transferred into a system: 1 - Mass 2 - Springs 3 - Dampers. Each one of the above operates best in different ranges of frequencies.

How would a FMC setup compare, technically and practically, to an iFi iSilencer? They both seem to filter the noise out, however, 1 has 2 boxes and 2 power supplies. Whereas the other (iFi) is just a dongle. Both are priced roughly similarly. Perhaps you need 1 of the 2 or perhaps both. Any thoughts/experience?

What good is the optical cable if you are going to use poor LAN cables?

I have an Ifi Zen Can headphone amplifier and for it to work well with low impedance headphones it needs more current. I need a super capacitor that is plug and play with 5V and around 4-5A. Do you have anything like that for sale? Great that you are selling these now!

Why call it a media converter? It is purely transporting TCP/IP packets from Ethernet to Fiber. Why add extra connections in your chain?

If you want to get extremely low ESR. In fact, you can buy the cheaper version of Ian's and then using multiple supercapacitors in parallel can significantly reduce the overall ESR. For example, if each 3000F supercapacitor has an ESR of 1mOhm, then four capacitors in parallel would result in a total ESR of 1mOhm / 4 = 0.25mOhm, which is close to the 0.23 mOhm value.

Unless your clock is of exceptional quality, surpassing that of Ian’s SC-Pure, you won’t experience a significant enhancement in sound quality by using the UcPure Quad. Instead of investing a substantial amount of money on the UcPure Quad, consider enriching your collection with additional audio CDs. This approach not only diversifies your musical experience but also makes effective use of your existing equipment.

Hi there, nice build. I have a general question: If you add the USB amanero interface, and connect it to your PC. will it detect the card as a soundcard and then output to the DAC? I would guess so? Also, how does the input selection work? If you add for example a CD player digital output to the SPDIF input on recieverpi, how do you select which input to use? Via the pot on the screen?

LOL not sure how you arrived at the sum of $250 for this. The MA alone is $200 delivered to Europe with import tax. The iFi power units are $80 each too and then the Protodac costs are on top of that. More like $500 total and there are much better sounding DIY options for that sort of money, or even a fully finished ChiFi DAC with DSD and USB input. Then, you start talking about putting expensive clocks in there too! Also, are you 'grounding' your Altoids tin to a block of wood?

Gaby, I am quite new to your channel. So glad that I found you. I am a retired disabled veteran in the USA. I have loved good music all my life and passed it on to my kids. Two of my 3 children (grown), are musicians. I have always been a DIY, and was an early adopter of technology in my generation. hmm, Would be a good idea to use Rock wool to lined the high voltage areas/contacts as shield incase it blows it won't catch on fire at least buys you time.
