This was 1957, they would only show him from the waist up because of his dance moves, lol.... its pretty much in the very beginning of his success. He was so confident and that was so damn attractive.. He is still very much missed.. RIP Elvis

Women love men who take care of their looks. Clean man (body and soul).
Women love confident, vibrant, honest, and reliable men with charisma and a sense of humour. Clowns are not on a woman`s list.
If you have all that and you are all that, you are most certainly successful at what you do, and success is the greatest aphrodisiac for women.
Women don`t care so much about how much hair a man has.
Of course, Elvis had it all but he was a Jesus-like figure, an idol. He doesn`t count as "a man" per se. Stars are unreachable, which makes them sexier to begin with. They are "Gods and Goddesses".
In real life, women don`t have unachievable high demands of regular guys.
That`s why it`s such a pity that men don`t care much about their appearances. Most men don`t care if they smell good or not, but women do!

Muhammad Ali and Elvis were buddies, and Ali had this song as his favourite. «I was the Elvis of boxing. You never realise what you have until it’s gone. I don’t admire nobody, but Elvis was the most humble, sweetest guy you’d ever wanna meet. No one could sing like Elvis.» (three quotes by Ali)

Hi CV, Loved your reaction! On this particular evening, Elvis was recorded from only the waist up so that he would not offend the good church going viewers of the day. Ironically, he was belittled, criticized and, maligned by newspaper reporters, churches and politicians because he moved and sang like a black man at a time in America when the divide between the races was great. Elvis stepped over every invisible line imaginable mixing musical genres while moving sensually to music that was only intended for the blacks or the whites. From this one man, the voice of mankind was notable and he terrified mankind in turn. Sadly, he had wanted none of this for he was merely trying to bring his parents from the depths of great poverty. Sadder yet, there remain people to this day who do not want a white man signing black music.💔

Great to see lots of Reactors have been showing that documentary Part 1 & Part 2 on their channels, & many admitting that they listened to others without checking into it.

I don't know if you've looked into his time in the army. He didn't try to get out of being drafted. He could have gone with the army entertainment division as well. He said he didn't want any favors and went to a regular unit. According to his fellow soldiers, he pulled his weight any was just one of the guys. This won over some of the older generation that had not accepted him yet.

You are so right, Elvis had everything. By his third appearance on Ed Sullivan he had four gold records. The women The Sweet inspirations started to sing back up in Los Vegas 1970.
At 14 yrs old I was in Love with Elvis. He was my first pretend boyfriend. All my friends felt this emotional bond with Elvis. His unique voice has beautiful transitions and the sounds he makes. You just didn’t hear this from other singers. Yes, we have to admit he was not only good looking but had natural sec appeal.

I subscribed for your Elvis reactions. Dont worry about people and what they say, the older you get you start to not give a s..t about peoples opinions anymore. Im 59 and have been listening to him since i was a young boy. My mother had many records and she played them in the house. I remember very clearly the day he died, I remember finishing eating supper with my family and walking to my friend's house around the block. When i knocked on the door, his grandmother answered, and she was crying. She said Elvis died today. I didn't even go inside, I just walked back home. Everyone was still in the kitchen and I told them that Elvis had just died . We went to the living room and turned on the television and watched it on the news. Everyone just sat in silence and disbelieve. I saved the newspaper from the next day. The front page simply said The King Is Dead. I think everyone I knew watched the funeral procession on television. To this day I still listen to his music and now I enjoy watching young people discover his amazing voice and charisma through reactions on CZcams. The King may have died but his legacy lives on 47 years later. He is in my opinion the biggest musical and cultural icon of the 20 th century. It would be great if you reacted to all The Ed Sullivan show appearances, most are kinda short like Dont Be Cruel but maybe you can react to 2 or 3 at a time. I believe you can find them all in the order they were performed. Keep doing what you do , the Elvis fans support you and there are lots of us.

Expanding on what you said, my theory is that what made Elvis irresistible to women (apart from the looks, charm, talent) is that Elvis was both the good boy who needed protecting, and the sexual, dangerous bad boy. Elvis comes out on stage sweet, nervous self-deprecating. Then he starts to sing and he is instantly transformed into the confident, wild, dangerous, sexual being (not as much here but ck out "Hound dog" ).
Then when he is done singing he is back to the sweet, nervous boy thanking God.
What women could resist? I'm not sure any other well known singer had this dual personality, they were either the good boy (Pat Boone, Paul Anka) or the bad boy (Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash).

You're either born with it or you're not. You can try faking it but will get found out evebtually. Elvis was just that guy at the right time. He was so young and shy in this video, but could flip the switch into entertainer mode.and drive the girls crazy.
Notice he was on my shown from the waist up. He was banned from swiveling his hips on tv after his first performance, so the studio audience saw him swivel at the end but we couldnt. That's why he exited the stage so fast. He never took himself seriously and loved to play around while singing.
Keep up the great reactions. Your a genuine guy.who enjoys the trip down the different music genre rabbit holes. I love your take on the music of my generation.

This is Elvis third appearance on the Ed Sullivan Show. This is the famous from the waist up performance, which Elvis only found out about a short while before he went on, so he added the flashy waistcoat and extra hand movements. The Jordinares were a very successful gospel quartet that backed many artists such as Patsy Cline and Ricky Nelson. They worked with Elvis from 1956-1968 but were based in Nashville and so didn`t stay with Elvis during the Vegas years. The Sweet Inspirations who included Cissy Huston (Whitney`s mom) and The Imperials opened with Elvis in Vegas but after one season Cissy decided to stop touring and so Millie Kirkham stepped in for a couple of years and was later replaced by Kathy Westmoreland. In 1972 The Imperials decided to part ways with Elvis citing the touring schedule as an issue and so were replaced with JD Sumner and The Stamps quartet. Music has no color my friend so enjoy with your heart, educate with your mind, love with your whole being and pity the haters as they are the ones losing out. Great reaction please keep up the fab work.

The men are The Jordanaires that Elvis hired to do his backup at that time and worked with him for many years. It wasn’t until Elvis did Vegas after his movie contract ended that he hired the Sweet Inspirations, and either The Imperials or The Stamps. I believe it was the Imperials with JD Sumner (baritone), then it was The Stamps that JD Sumner put together. Also as backup was Millie Kirkland then Kathy Westmoreland that were the high sapranoes.

He went from rock and roll and ballads, 1954 to 1958, the Army, to 1960 then movies with music for eight years, them in 1968 he went back to his music and entertainment that we see only on CZcams. He’s gone but never forgotten. Don’t apologize for loving Elvis. He would have loved you because he believed in kindness. Watch his videos about being the King of Kindness or a Generous Heart. Now you understand Elvis. Your brother with his 3 words: you've got the sense of humour, which ladies love. In a documentary, it was revealed that Elvis's grandfather in Kentucky was black. I think his mother's name, Love, is usually Jewish. His father's name, Presley, is a derivation of the British name, Priestly. Elvis's father was only 16 when he was born; his mother was 20-21?. Put it all together and you've got dynamite. All over London, in the Fifties, young men were copying that hairstyle. They called it The D.A. (Duck's Arse), because it dovetailed at the nape. In the Sixties, he wore The Pompadour hairstyle. Regards, J.H., England.

Oh, the band is The Bluemoon Boys, Bill Black, Scotty Moore & DJ Fontana. Elvis started with Bill & Scotty at Sun Records and DJ came in when they added drums. Bill started another group when Elvis was drafted. They reunited for the ‘68 Comeback Special (that was actually only named The Singer Special by Singer Sewing Machine Co) when they did the live performance in the middle of the audience. I’d say that was the very first “Unplugged” performance; and just may be where MTV got the idea.

Elvis hung around and affected our lives for so long. So many years. He was just part of the family. We worried about him, we wished him everything and we were there when he was down, too.

I'm with you my friend! Elvis was just about the best looking human being ever. Take a look at a song from Elvis' last movie called "Change of Habit" - the last song he sings is called "Let us pray." The man looks prettier than 95% of the women in the movie. Makes me sick! If he had any talent to go along with those looks, he may have made a name for himself in the music business!! : )
