âą She - Kiss | The Midni...
For the second time on the channel, we are checking out âȘ@KISS⏠as they perform their song "She" on The Midnight Special! I can confidently say that I have completely underestimated this band and their talent! They absolutely blew me away with this performance and I loved the song! It had so many great riffs and exciting musical sections throughout. The band was energetic and put on an insanely captivating show! I cannot wait to check out more from them! I definitely underestimated KISS! This song and performance was a banger! Loved it!
Really check out Hotter than Hell, song and whole album. Watchin' You. Mainline, Parasite.
Let me go Rock and Roll Live from Cobo Arena, Detroit Michigan. One of those two nights were phenomenal!!!
And I don't like saying it but Ace Frehleys playing live was usually as good or better than Jimmy Page's Live Performances. Yeah, here come my haters. What you hate is the truth. Neither were the greatest Live but Ace was usually better. Sorry Jimmy.
If you don't like Kiss, you don't KNOW old Kiss. đ€đđ€
The 1975 "Alive" is what you need
Absolutely. Those first three albums were diamonds in the rough and Alive is a greatest hits compilation of those great albums. They showcased a young hungry band with something to prove. They lacked proper production. The guys that produced them had no idea how to record a hard rock band like KISS. They were bubblegum music producers.
This
Totally agree. Before this album, their album sales were underwhelming. Alive and Destroyer are the first 2 Kiss albums I bought when I was 12. Alive is on my short list of best live albums ever.
@@ArtScrounger I have it and many more
Yes, ace was tapping on stage since 1973
This was KISS in April, 1975 (edited). The original four: Young, hungry, poor and doing whatever they needed to do to make it. And they rocked!
Actually this was 1975
@@ronjames6128 Youâre right. April, 1975. Their outfits tripped me up because they changed them later in â75.
Yes ! Original members here. Their chemistry is undeniable.
70âs KISS was young raw and hungry đ„đ„đ„
So true!
And horney. Then again, that's 2000's KISS, too.
KISS Army is right here. Love KISS from the 70's and early 80's
And heavy
Exactly. Hungry is the key ingredient. Once they were no longer hungry is when it started coming apart.
All you got to do is listen to Kiss Alive
followed by Kiss Alive II
Yeah, Kiss Alive . . . completely doctored and fixed-up laer in the studio, with loads of fake crowd noise pumped in. Good album, but hardly a true live experiene.
Yes .
@@MarkMay-cr6bv Yep, the same with KISS Alive 1 per Eddie Kramer. So much dubbing was needed as the band was too wild to stand in one place and sing.
â@@MarkMay-cr6bvYes it's true. The drums though were apparently untouched in the studio..to Peter's credit
This the real KISS.
đŻ Straight đ„đ„đ„
Very true and it all went downhill from there, except for Destroyer which is my favorite studio album.
The downfall never happened for me.! I was Rabid.! But if I picked a time when I saw friends and fans losing interest it would be 1978 when the movie and the solo albums came out.! That's when the leak started.! By 1979 it was draining fast.! Not for me.! I was rabid.! Still am.! When Eric Carr died I was broken.! From 1991 back I'm still rabid to this day.!!
@@raymorrow170 Original does not mean better. Shoot 3 out of my 5 favorite 5 KISS studio lps do not have the 4 original member. Creatures, Lick It Up, & Revenge. Plus my favorite "LIVE" lp from them isnt soley the Original member, Unplugged, although Ace & Peter do appear on it. Alive III is my favorite proper live lp, but I am biased, according to Bruce the majority of that lp came from the Indianapolis show, and I was there.
@Spflowers10000 That's true.! But in Kiss history. Album sales and merchandise also attendance at the concerts was and is ALWAYS for the Original band the largest draw in any other lineup in their career.! So tho it certainly doesn't mean better it just goes to show that the majority of the fans want the original four.! As for Kiss Alive 3 the musianship is more proficient the sales NEVER came close to the other two.! Oh wait.! That's the original band.! CASE CLOSED.! All based on opinion and yours just isn't what the facts are.!
Like kiss or not, kiss remains one of the biggest and most influential bands of all time

Yes . If you have pyro it is because of Kiss .
They are not a band, they are an act. Explain how for 50 years, Gene, still doesn't know how to play the bass.

Iâve seen KISS 5 times live. First time was in Chicago in 1978 and the last time was in Seattle in 2023! I feel so sorry for anyone who never got the chance to see them!
Iâm 60 now , became a Kiss fan around early 75 . Heard a kid at the 7-11 , singing hotter than hell. I remember thinking that a kidhell, then it was Rock n Roll all night at the bus stop. In 76 they became my rock heroâs . I didnât get to see them until 79. I wasnât old enough to drive yet , and my brother was forced by my parents to go with me. He hated KISS , he said they were fake, he was a Led Zeppelin head. But he told me after the show , he didnât know any of the songs , but that was the best show heâd ever seen. We went again in 96 , and 2000. I have co worker friends in their 20s and 30s . They hear me praise KISS , and see my key chain , coffee cups , and shirts with Kiss , and they are confused by the old famous band. They only know songs theyâve heard on the radio. And they only see the half band today. If ever shown the 70s Kiss , they are blown back like , we were.
I'm 60 now also.! Late 75 for me.! Rabid from the get go.! Older brothers friend told him take this album home and let ur little brother hear it. It was Kiss Alive. I looked at the cover and didn't quite figure out what was up. Heard that intro then that opening riff.! When that explosion went off so did I and I've been off ever since.!
From 1976 thru 1978, KISS ruled the world.

This is the best line up of this iconic band. 74 - 78 they were unstoppable xx
73 to 79
Any of it with original four.!
People underestimate KISS because of the radio friendly overplayed stuff like "Beth", " I was made for lovin' you", "Shout it out loud", etc. The deep tracks is where KISS is at. A lot of people do not know the REAL stuff (deep tracks). The KISS Army Knows. God of Thunder. KISS!!!!!!!!!! LISTEN TO DAD.
I hear people say all the time, "Kiss is nothing but show"
And I have to remind them that back in the day, we became fans by hearing their music on the radio. It was the MUSIC that made us buy the albums and go to the concerts. In the very beginning we didn't even know what Kiss looked like until we saw our first Kiss album cover, and everyone forgets it was the music that made us look for the album in the first place.
I disagree. It was all about the make up and gimmicks because the music sucked
@@CapeFear1 You don't hold the record for the most gold records in history if your music sucks.
@inkelf Sorry they sucked. They were popular with teens. They were not respected by other bands from their era because it was all about the act and makeup. Their music wasn't respected.
@@CapeFear1 It was by the fans. You know, the people who bought 100 million copies of their records. No one cares if you, or other bands respected them. The early KISS is where it's at! This is when the music was the driving force behind the band, not the money. When money became the most important aspect, the music took a backseat.
God of THUNDER!!! Gene!!

One of the most influential rock bands of all time they sold over 110 million albums and are inducted into the Rock and roll Hall of Fame have more gold album sales than any other American rock band and without the kiss live show any show that you seen in the last 40 years would not be the same it all has kiss DNA in it. Ask motley Crue Metallica Nirvana Pearl jam STP Garth Brooks Lenny Kravitz skid row poison and many more what got them wanting to be music artists.
Kiss was a business brilliantly executed. Say what you want about their music⊠Gene Simmons was a genius. He knew what he wanted to accomplish and he knew how to do it, and he delivered. They rocked, they gave a show that dazzled, and, from what Iâve heard, theyâre pretty good guys. Iâm not a kiss fan, but I respect what they do and who they are and what theyâve done for music through theâ70s and the influence theyâve had on the industry. These guys did everything to deliver an awesome show to make sure their audience left the show impressed.
Actually it was Bill Aucoin, Neil Bogart, and Sean delaney who were the marketing geniuses of Kiss in the early days until they rocketed to fame. Gene Simmons had nothing to do with it.
This is the KISS that we all fell in love with. Young, hungry, and full of fire. KISS in the 70's were untouchable. Watching Ace tapping away........Ace was the best
They were incredible!
Ace was THE MASTER of the 15 second solo...EVERY NOTE FIT
70s kiss hits different

Take the Beatles or Queen.
Most of the great bands change their musical style during their career. Or David Bowie.

Parasite is such an under rated song. I love that tune!

Early Kiss is the best Kiss.....they were playing hundreds of shows a year at this time. They would also play twice a day sometimes. Can you imagine traveling in a station wagon trying to get some sleep in between gigs? They did that too. Playing that much will make a great show.
Literally just search kiss live. Watch every full concert that pops up. I was a kiss fan since a kid and I was about 11 or 12 when we got internet and all I did was hold my guitar and watch concerts and try to learn every song I heard. Kiss is insane. Dude... One album will tell you everything.... ALIVE!
I bought KISS Alive! on November 9, 1975 with money from my tenth birthday for the song "Rock And Roll All Nite". I knew nothing about KISS. Didn't even know what they looked like. I did not know any other kids at school who even knew who they were. After hearing that album all the way through for the very first time "Parasite" and "She" were my two favorite songs. That is how and when Ace Frehley became my favorite member of KISS. It was guitar. I loved that guitar. It took me a little while to figure out who was who, who played what and the difference between a bass, rhythm and lead guitar. I kept hoping the guy playing THAT guitar was the cool demon looking guy. But, it wasn't. I liked KISS for their music, not their looks or stage show. I liked Ace for his guitar. Months later when I was in sixth grade, KISS was on the Paul Lynde Halloween Special. Everybody from school seen it. They came in talking about it. That is when they all started buying KISS Destroyer, KISS merchandise and talking about KISS. That is when I stopped being an island unto myself. They all jumped on the bandwagon with me. I owned KISS Alive! and they thought I was the coolest kid. None of them could afford a double album. The only KISS album you need for early KISS (anything before Destroyer) is KISS Alive!. The entire album is great. (edited for spelling)
Gotta love the guy's enthusiasm
Come on bro!! If your dad is such a big KISS fan he would've been like me. Listen to them all the time so how could you not know about this song. This is one of their best. KISS, early KISS kicked ass. My favorite band growing up and still today and I'm 62.
