    FINALLEEEEE!!!! A LIVE PERFORMANCE!
OH MY GAWD I FEEL LIKE IT HAS BEEN FOREVER SINCE YOUR LAST ELVIS LIVE REACTION!
I LOVE TODAY! THIS IS THE BEST MONDAY IN A WHILE!
THANK YOU SEPH! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU 💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖
Okay so to answer your question: Basic difference between a band & an orchestra: A band consists of brass & percussion. An orchestra has the addition of string instruments (violins, violas, mandolins, cellos, and the like).
However a band can have guitarists & bassists and even a pianist (or a keyboardist). A band can a drummer and a saxophonist and a trumpet player.
It is the addition of violinists (more than one), violas players (more than one), mandolin players (more than one), and celloists (more than one) that makes a band an orchestra.
A marching band is all wind and percussion instruments (horns and clarinets and flutes are wind and drums are percussion).
But it is noted that a marching band has no string instruments. No guitars, bass, violins, mandolin, nada.
Of course there are exceptions to every rule. But the above is the basic difference between a band and an orchestra.
I hope that answers your question Seph 😊
Okay, moving on: I agree with you on the song. Love Elvis and the chorus elevates the song. But it's not my favorite live performance I'll be honest.
I am hoping with fingers & toes crossed this means more Elvis live performance reactions in the near future 😀 PLEASE? PRETTY PRETTY PLEASE? 🎶I BEG OF YOU🎶🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Honest opinion on relationships (not just romantic): Relationships are not a bank account. Once you start treating your relationship like your balancing your checkbook... That's not a good sign. That means you are starting to stack up what you do vs what they don't do like you do your bank account's deposits and withdrawals.
    That is not good.
Communication needs to happen. Relationships require honesty and trust to work.
Do not expect the other person in the relationship to be a mind reader.
    Shoo!
    Annnyyywwaayyy...

“...a style and panache that come close to pure magic. Lithe, raunchy, the sweat pouring down his face, he now moves with the precision of an athlete, the grace of a dancer...flamboyant and flashy, sexy and self-mocking, he works with the instincts of a genius to give poetry to the basic rock performance.”

I love this song. Seph, if you stop to listen better, you will notice that it has a very well produced musical arrangement, the song has some ups and downs that involve the listener bringing them into the music, giving emphasis to the chorus, enriching the lyrics and melody. His lyrics also bring a message between the lines that goes beyond what the lyrics themselves bring. And her live performance enhances her and makes her fantastic.

For one thing, when you see him, you can see how effortlessly he sings along with how he's reacting to the music. You also get those little bits between songs where he's being silly. I don't know, seeing him, just makes him more human and lovable. I'll never forget the first time I saw him walk on stage. He had a presence about him I've never seen before. He was a bundle of humility and brashness, fun and seriousness, all rolled into one package of handsome manliness. I think I'm gonna faint thinking about it. 🤣😂🙃😍🤩 I think the videos I love best are the rehearsal videos from the two movies. Edit to add "documentary" movies.

I just wish he had the version when you could hear the squeal of thr overhead electric equipment which caused Elvis to look surprised & then look up -- it makes more sense when you hear the sound because then you can understand his reaction -- but someone stupidly & inconsiderately deleted it -- makes no sense why people do these things. Someone did the same thing on "You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling" by taking out the raspiness & crack in his voice @ very beginning.

Finally! ☺️ It's always better to *see* The Elvis. I love this song - the lyrics, the melody, the emotion Elvis infused into it. They're still living together, going through the motions, but the heart and soul of the relationship is gone.
    Lyrics:
Lying by your side i watch you sleepin'
And in your face the sweetness of a child
Murmuring a dream you won't recapture
Though it will haunt the corners of your mind
Oh, I've lost you though you're near me
And your body's still as kind
I've lost you on the journey
But I can't remember where or when
Oh, who can tell when summer turns to autumn
And who can point the moment love grows cold?
Softly without pain the joy is over
Though why its gone we neither of us know
Oh, I've lost you, yes, I've lost you
    I can't reach you anymore
We ought to talk it over now
But reason can't stand in for feeling, oh
Six o'clock, the baby will be crying
And you will stumble sleeping to the door
In the chill and sullen grey of morning
We play the parts that we have learned too well
Oh, I've lost you, oh, I've lost you
Though you won't admit it's so
I've lost you on the journey
But I can't remember where or when, oh, no
Oh, I've lost you, yes I've lost you
    I can't reach you anymore
We ought to talk it over now
But reason can't stand in for feeling, oh

He had an actual orchestra to his left if you’re facing him and his TCB band was in the back of him with James Burton to his right with the pink paisley guitar and backup singers to his right all if you’re facing him. The Sweet Inspirations and the male backup singers behind them are the Imperials. When he first went to Vegas he went to see Barbara Streisand singing right before he started and she was all alone on this gigantic stage & he said he wanted to be surrounded by the best people he could find and he was an excellent producer of it all. As you’ve seen, how he interacts with them. You’re right. His body is like its own musical instrument in which his body parts react to each sound. And then "Elvis on tour" from 72 , which follow Elvis across 15 cities of concerts (Thats the way it is, was his from Las Vegas shows, 1970). Elvis on tour got a golden globe for best music documentary. After that you have "Aloha from Hawaii" 1973, the satelite concert (There are actually two of these, as the recorded a "reherseal concert the day before in case something should go wrong on the day of the "real concert". The last concert for tv was the one done 6 weeks before his death, and Elvis was very sick and uncomftable but still sang 5 songs there that is worth listening to.

Alright Seph....we're going to fight about this!!!! We need a redo reaction!!! This song is amazing!!!! This song is about a relationship falling apart, going through the motions and not knowing how to fix it. It's a really beautiful song and the lyrics are great! Plus no one can top Elvis' live performances and Ronnie Tutt is killing it on drums!! I demand a better score and a re-listen!!! A+

Oops, overdub. Hope you'll get to the correct vid. 1970 is my fav Elvis period, he's fire on stage! No dancers or any other fancy tricks, just pure talent, raw emotion and charisma. The words of Rev. Herbert Brewster never seemed more true: "He was a bundle of energy, set to music, and that echo will never die."

2nd comment: Date Of Performance: August 12, 1970 Dinner Show
Place: Las Vegas International Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Song Info (according to Wiki): "I've Lost You" was covered by Elvis Presley. It was released in July 1970, debuted at number 85 on the Hot 100 on 1 August 1970, and reached number 32 on 29 August - 5 September 1970. On the Cash Box chart, however, it reached as high as number 18. It also charted at number five on the Adult Contemporary chart. The song became a gold record.
As a newly released single, Presley included it in his setlist during his third Las Vegas season (August/September 1970) and the version from 12 August Dinner Show was included in the MGM movie Elvis: That's the Way It Is.
In Canada, "I've Lost You" was a Top 10 hit. It peaked at number 10, and spent two weeks in that position. It was also a top 10 hit in the United Kingdom where Presley's career was on something of a major resurgence, reaching number 9 for two weeks in November and December.
"I've Lost You" is a song written by Alan Blaikley and Ken Howard (under the pen name 'Steve Barlby') for Iain Matthews. It was originally recorded in 1969 and released on Matthews' first solo album after leaving Fairport Convention: Matthews' Southern Comfort.
    Short info everyone I know!
    Also: Jerry Guercio Orchestra
    Glen D. Hardin - Piano
    Ronnie Tutt - Drums
Guitar - James Burton (the second guy you pointed to)
Guitar - Charlie Hodge (the first guy you pointed to)
Guitar - John Wilkinson (the last guy you pointed to)
Bass - Jeff Scheff (the third guy you pointed to)
Note: Will try to provide video link where Elvis does back up singers/ band members/ orchestra introductions to the audience at some point.
That's it for this comment I think. May add more info later in a 3rd comment later. Honestly do not know yet so no promises.
I just wing all of this info dumping honestly. I never plan it out lol 😀

Its more about how just playing the roles in relationships can cause the actual feelings if live and fun etc to disappear if they are not wirked in. Then when it is lost you could talk about it but reason can't stand in for feelings.
Basically work at relationships to keep love active and alive... or it could be lost with no way of bringing it back. 😥

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this song...more specifically this version of the song. In this video, they dubbed audio from another show over the video from this show. I hate when they do that. The studio version is marginal. This is great.

    Brilliant Seph.
Filmed during Elvis' 12 August 1970, Dinner Show in the main showroom of the Las Vegas International Hotel, this was in fact only the third live performance of "I've Lost You" by Elvis. Despite this version being included in the 1970 movie "Elvis - That's The Way It Is" it was the performance from twenty four hours earlier which was released on the same titled album in preference to the studio recording. This with the live footage can be found here : czcams.com/video/S-tNKPvACG8/video.html
The studio recording which Elvis recorded in Nashville at RCA's Studio B on 4 June 1970 and was in fact just the second track after "Twenty Days and Twenty Nights" to be recorded at these landmark sessions now referred to simply as "The Nashville Marathon".
The version heard in the movie soundtrack is notable for the solo oboe (or cor anglais) which gets out of time with the rest of the band at the beginning of the song but Sony tried to address this problem with the different mix they presented on the 2014 TTWII Legacy / Deluxe releases, which included the entire 12 August Dinner Show, by raising the piano at the intro therefore "drowning" the offending instrument.

Seph: Elvis and many singers at the time - could afford to tour with an orchestra….
Now that you’ve seen 1 of the songs from the concert movie “That’s The Way It Is” - let me say that when you eventually watch the movie…PLEASE understand that there are TWO versions. The original 1970 theatrical release, and the 2000s re-edited version! Most Elvis fans prefer the 2000s re-edit because it has more songs (but it leaves out a couple which the original had) and cuts out some fan footage and business footage. I feel it’s important to see the old footage originally in order to understand the movie in the context of those times. I’m one of the few who probably prefer the original.

The rhythm guitar is played by John Wilkinson.

Wait 'til you get around to his live 1970 Vegas performance of Love Me Tender...We don't get to hear much of the song because Elvis actually goes out into the audience and starts kissing nearly every woman there. Everybody who watches this one can't believe that Elvis is kissing all the girls on the lips. It was a different time then and people were much more relaxed and civil. You'll really enjoy this one , Seph.

Seeing him perform makes any song better than just hearing him. It was very nice that you got a live video this time. Get rid of that toy penguin it distracts your concentration. I prefer the animated Kingsley and I think he's getting real mad at you for putting him in the closet. I heard he's planning to blow you up with a really big bomb, you better watch out.😮 I like the song and permformance, for me it's a double banger.
