Sara, I'm surprised to see the Canon R5 has slightly more detail and slightly more saturated colours in 8K 24p than the Sony A1 does. However, I have noticed Sony always has had a look of slightly muted colours in all of their mirrorless hybrid camera lines.
Tilt screen > flip screen anyway from a photographers perspective. For me it’s not only the chance of breaking it’s also harder to get straight lines with it out to the side, not as quick and easy to get the screen out and available to use with the flip screen and also we like having it in line with the sensor of the camera when shooting. Just my opinion tho. Totally get why you’d want a flip screen on a normal camera but this camera isn’t for vloggers...

The camera sounds great, just you will need a high end 20+ core Apple Pro or you have to wait for the M 1 X 14 and 16 inch laptops. The other question i have have they worked with Adobe Premiere, Apple FCP etc to come out with an update for these new codexes, basically the same problem that existed first after the Canon R 5 came out ? Because to go out on a limp to order this Camera plus having to pay close to 3.000 $ for a G Master lens is a risky thing, then you don’t even know for shure that your computer & software will be able to read and edit these new profiles

I seriously need some advice. Im looking into getting a new laptop for school and I have no idea on what to get. I was looking into a Macbook Air but I've never owned one and I know nothing about tech. I really just need it to last me through nursing school and maybe even through a masters degree when I get there. What do yall recommend?
No, Sara, I don't think the flip screen is not reliable, I've been using the GH5 for 3 years now, it's super durable. I prefer tilt screen because it doesn't offset with the lens direction (off to the side), it's harder to compose my shots. Also, the tilt screen is just much more simple and quick to open, doesn't get in the way of the neck strap, etc. There are a few reasons why some of us prefer tilting screens, durability is definitely not my concern.
I bought the A1 and I am not looking back. forget about the 8k, it records in 5.7k and downsamples to 4k. It has less noise than the a7siii at anything below 12,400 ISO and much more.
I feel like I like the articulating screen more when doing photography because if i wanna shoot even just a bit lower then eye-height i can just flick it up a little and don't have to fully put it to the side and then turn it up. But that's just my taste
I like that too especially when shooting video with mic and headphones attached to the side but I find that that's the only time where it is useful. With the fully articulating screen I am able to hold the cameras at a lot of different angles and still be able to see the screen easily. I like the one on the S1H which tilts up and fully articulates. It is a chungus of a camera but since they're going for the Canon 1D, I think they could go with a little bit of Chungus.
I wish my Xperia 1 would work with the Alpha 1 in a simialr manner to the Xperia Pro, but instead of HDMI in, it used USB-C for video. Also wish there was an "Xperia Alpha 1" with basically most of the fuctionality of a phone. optional in body image processing, 5G connectivity and android 11, though, i do think the Xperia Pro combo is a nice compromize, a bit expensive though, fo rthat price i would almost expect the phone to dock into the camera and act as part of the camera instead of just a more advanced external monitor
Hello I really love dipping in and out of your Unboxings, Tutorials and Studio Head talky bits because the colours are so vibrant and pop. I realise that you have some sexy cameras and lenses to ensure that the images are pin-sharp and look lush. I'd be grateful is you could share some of your colour grading skills/workflow, to help me get my own projects in the same "Ballpark" as your Office/studio shots with my modest domestic camera and lenses. I have still yet to crack the magic formula for rendering and uploading content to CZcams. I just do this for a hobby and personal amusement to relieve my work-a-day stress but I'd love to try and get close to your exceptionally professional and polished looking episodes. Maybe you have some Tutorials hidden in your Back Catalogue that you could point me towards? Cheers 😀

I used to be a big fan of Canon’s color science but I think Sony is taking over. But I’m curious what kind of screen resolution you guys watching this on? I watched it on my iPhone 11 Pro and could hardly tell the difference in the video.
So in listening to your podcast with Gerald Undone, I know you have some trouble getting the right skin tone with the black magic (outside of davincii) , so on the raw output, how do you think this will compare for workflow in correcting colors for your skintone.

That is insane, nevermind the 30 fps and 50MP. I mean Fujifilm has a camera that only shoots 5 fps and 103MP, and it cost $10,000. That or I might just get Sony lenses if they can come up with a 35mm or 50mm f1.2 lens that can go well with my 135mm GM for portraits.

I like what they did with the A6500(?), how you can flip it upwards so that you can monitor yourself.
Can you test 4K with a 100mm lens and 8K with a 50mm lens with a 2x crop?

Why always color / grade ? Doesnt it look good enough out the box? :)
It's overkill even for mainstream professionals. However it's nice to have one if you have fat wallets or for bragging excuses.
