- Introducing the NH-D15 G2: the further improved second generation of our iconic NH-D15.
With its state-of-the-art, speed-offset NF-A14x25r G2 PWM fans, eight heatpipes and asymmetrical fin-stacks that have been carefully fine-tuned to work in tandem with the new fans, it achieves even better quiet cooling performance than its award-winning predecessor.

Noctua coolers are totally worth it, in one of my builds I have D14 that is over 13 years old and still going strong.
All heatsinks last a long time. I have a U14S and it has worked well for nearly 10 years, but it's also starting to visibly tarnish, and it did distort slightly over time to the point it could barely mount on an AM5 socket. Noctua mounting brackets are also much lesser quality these days. They used to be precision machined parts with a flawless mirror finish, now they're rough casted metal instead, which can cause mounting difficulty. Noctua is overpriced these days. They've been living off the name they got in a small window of time a decade ago where the heatsink market was small. Now there are a plethora of better and cheaper options, and now Noctua is a pay more get less company. This new D15 doesn't even beat a smaller heatsink with 120mm fans from other competitors, which perform better and cost less than half.
Same. I have D14 since 2011. Works like new, even the fans are still silent af.
@@peoplez129 please link us specific heatsinks with 120mm fans from companies that perform better at half the cost with test reviews.
@@Eskoxo Just look up the Phantom Spirit 120. It performs literally 10c better than the old D15, and is only ~$35. At $150 for the new D15, which only performs marginally better than the old D15, it's literally a quarter of the cost of the new D15. Even if you were to replace the fans on it with Noctua fans, it would still be half the cost of the new D15.
@@Eskoxo There is Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120mm that is 1/4 the cost and running only 4C hotter on average to D15 Gen 2 as per GN review.
Same company also makes a triple slot AIO that can easily beat D15 Gen2 in performance with a cost of $60.
Finally! And nice setup with the Fractal Design North XL.
Great! Waiting for the CHROMAX version!
Hopefully Q1 2025.
(I'm not crying cause they were not released at the same time, I'm not)

Sweet. Will be interesting to see the benchmarks.
Can't wait for the gen 3 d15 to drop in 2035😂.

Take 10 years to re release the same cooler with marginally better fans and IHS, truly this is austrian engineering.
9800X3D will love this cooler!
Maybe, but I wouldn't recommend it for anything higher. I have NH-D15S and it barely keeps up with 5950X at stock, even with dual fan configuration.
Overkill for this CPU.
@@GamerichGame GamersNexus recently did a review of Thermalright triple slot AIO that's less than $60, so in regards to NH-D15 I would really think twice.

Noctua has been cooking 🔥
Still rocking a NH-D15S in my second system. I only needed a fan replacement in the 6 years warranty and they were fast to send me a new one free of charge and also the then new mounting bracket for AM4. You definitely get what you paid for!
At long last, the wait is over! This is amazing💜🖤
why? has it been tested yet? or just amazing that they finally actually managed to release it?
This is excellent. The system they show at 1:01 looks so good. And the performance increase!
I am going to name my new born son Noctua D15 and he will be really cool
...and really brown?
was waiting for this🔥
Amazing product Noctua! Thank you! ❤❤❤
Interesting, Thanks for the show.
Gotta say... the competition has you guys beat on price to cooling performance... A $150 cooler that performs maybe 5°C cooler than the $35 dollar Thermalright Peerless Assassin/Phantom Spirit is a massive L in performance and price difference. Idk what you guys where thinking launching it at that high in price.
150 eur for an air cooler is completely insane, but the fanboys in these comments will always disagree
T H E R M A L R I G H T
@@crafti2.027 Wish i could use my old thermalright cogage true spirit cooler on new boards, that's the one advantage of noctua is you're pretty much guaranteed to always have brackets for any new socket/board that comes out and their free.
I'm glad at least one person on here mentions the price. Yes, there are great, cheap options for air coolers like the Peerless Assassin. But even if you look at “premium” manufacturers like be quiet; their Dark Rock 5 Pro is available for like 72€ right now. 150€ is just ridiculous, and I very highly doubt that you'll see an improvement in either thermal or noise performance that would justify double the price.
00:50 Noctua, the only company brave enough to show perfect thermal paste application.
When Less is More! 😊😊😊
Is this generation compatible with previous hestsink covers NA-HC4?
No, it wouldn't fit due to the different heatpipe layout and fin stack size.
Thank you for answer. Big fan from Poland. Greetings!
so for a 13900k which was used with a contact frame i should buy the G2 Standard version ?
Yes, that's exactly what we would recommend!
so with this ad dropping, is it available in stores? been waiting.
Yes! noctua.at/en/nh-d15-g2/buy
Noctua NH-D15 G2 LBC, Dual Tower CPU Cooler, Specialised Low Base Convexity Version for AMD AM5/AM4 (Brown) Does it come with AM4 offset brackets?
Yes, AMD offset brackets are included with all three versions.
Can you please tell me when it comes out, the nf-a14x25 2024 this, along with the cooler, are the ones that interest me the most, I hope it doesn't exceed $75 per fan.
The square frame fan is targeted for September: www.noctua.at/roadmap
As I operate my pc at a nominal room temp. of 34-36°C will it be useful?
This is hard to tell without knowing your exact system specs and what cooling you use at the moment, but generally, the hotter the room, the stronger cooling you will need.
This is really a new era 🙌🏻
That is insane good cooler!
Is it compatible with the Jonsbo D30 case?
Jonsbo specifies 168mm cooler clearance, so yes, that should work!
Sweeeeet all we need is that chromax version now lol
Any estimates when reviews going to drop?
The most beautiful blades!!! Associations with aircraft turbines! Please release operational black version and black fan of A14 Gen 2, thank you!
Are there plans for an sTR5 version?
Not at the moment, but if we see more demand for TR5, we might go for it.
My gen 1 still going strong after ~10 years. Always only ran it with one fan, the other is still in the box.
I have a question about CAMM memory; does Noctua have any plans for the possibility of coolers suddenly having far more space low down? M.2 takes up the top PCIe slot almost always, now CAMM might topple the RAM physical barrier. Soon the only remaining constraint may be the top CPU VRM, which I'm sure can be fixed if you were to whisper in a mobo manufacturer's ear 😉
Glad you're still happy with your G1! Yes, you are right that if CAMM becomes the standard, this would open up new possibilities with regard to heatsink design, so it's definitely a trend that we're watching.
The only question is... will it cool Core Ultra 9 285K? Never had a Noctua product before, can't decide between this and Dark Rock Elite.
Mankind is saved!
lol
I am literally holding off on my new build in fall if the black 140mm fan isn't out yet. So what I'm saying is, I'll probably be building a new PC next spring.
0:43 am I reading it right that NH-D15 G2 can dissipate 600W+ at 60C TCase? That is massive.
I assume this is at thermal test vehicle, or this is a real CPU?
It's marketing lies

Nice, i'm really curious to see how it compares in benchmarks. Obviously i don't need to replace my NH-D15, but since i will be building a secondary pc at some point, i will most definitely grab one of these!
will this fit in the nr200p?
No, the NR200P only has 155 of clearance, so the NH-D12L will be your best bet: ncc.noctua.at/cases/model/MasterBox-NR200P-382
Noctua please answer. Will this be perfect choice for cooling Ryzen 9 5950x?
Yes, absolutely! :) We would recommend the LBC version for AM4.
I have NH-D15S (with two fans) on 5950X paired with RTX 3090 in good ventilated Meshify 2XL. I would say it depends on what you want. If you want to hear the fans just when cpu goes slightly out of idle or during web browsing, if you want to sit next to a hairdryer with cpu over 80C when gaming, - then the answer is yes. Otherwise it's better to go 3 slot AIO or custom LC.
@@gagarin777 I m starting to hate AIO. I built my PC in 2022 october and I paired 5950x with thermaltake aio 360mm, bruh its like the aio lasted only about 7 months or so? cuz since than I am seeing terrible temps in both gaming and while browsing, I can't rely on AIO anymore. Even my friend told me to go with air cooler for long term use, and that AIOs have problems and can die (which is what happened already).
Now I can't play games perfectly anymore.
I'll take dying light 1 as an example, game doesn't even need high end specs nor high specs or even normal specs almost, game isn't demanding at all which means even old pc can run it, and bruh if I open the game I instantly see temps go above 80c so fast (this in menu) and if I start to play it than it reaches 90c fast. I even replaced thermal paste but nothing changed at all. So yeah pretty much the AIO is dead I m sure lol.
@@rezo856 What can I say. Thermaltake was known to have quality control issues for a long time now. People and reviewers were reporting there is a lot gunk buildup blocking the channels in the water block. You can buy Thermalright 360 for $60 and RMA the Thermaltake. Once they send the replacement just sell it off, some stores may offer to get the money back directly instead of replacement. I still stand with what I said, NH-D15 is not a product sufficient enough for top of the line cpu's nowadays. If you have the money consider custom LC with dual pump. If you don't use opaque fluids, do simple clean-up maintenance once in 6months it will last you for many years and even if one pump fails you will still be able to work and get replacement in the meantime. I'm buying new rig once RTX 5090 comes out and this is what I'm gonna do. If you go with NH-D15 or other aircoolers you will just have the same experience as with the broken AIO. I can see 80C on CPU in the menu of NFS Heat on regular basis with my D15S.
All for only 5x the cost of an identical performance product from thermalright?
yes
Will probably get beaten straight away by the Vapor Chamber air cooler by Deepcool. Tho Deepcool is gone from the US, so who knows what might happen to them in Europe in the near future..
The TR Phantom Spirit 120 SE will kick its ass at 1/5 price.
Do you guys have a research team studying Toroidal fans?
No, those are great for applications like drone propellers, but not really helpful if you can utilise a fan frame.
@@NoctuaVideosoof, make sense.
By the way, over here where I live, it can get up to 25°C to 33°C in which both my GPU and CPU reach a temp under load of 60°C and my fans are very VERY weak during summers
Which Noctua 120mm fan would you recommend for this type of hot weather?
I plan to buy a 3 fan 120mm radiator along with 3 other 120mm fans for the front intake of my case. Please know I want the most cold air coming in, and the hot air coming out from the radiator
Does it come in black?
No. Chromax Black will be available in Q1 2025.
Rolls Royce of CPU coolers. No doubt it is needed with these insanely hot modern CPUs.
It does look beautiful; hopefully, they will come out with a blood pressure. I know it won't happen any time soon, possibility next year.
Either though there's other companies that make cheaper products that are comparable, I still put your company first due to your professionalism and quality.
It better be a damn chart-topper and be ultra quiet for €150. And considering the price hike of the european prices on the D15 G1, i would not be surprised that this will get to €200 eventually.
When’s the Chromax version coming?
3 years )
Chromax version will be out next year in Q1 2025.
If you release Chromax black version, i will buy one! ❤ I have Nh-D15S(Chromax) and its amazing.
good stuff guys. I have 3 original ones that still work and even though my next build will likely not need it (since AMD X3D CPUs are not as power hungry as some competitor's solutions) ... I'll definitely support you and buy one. I'll prefer good engineering any day over childish stuff like RGB lights and such :P
heyyy noctua! love your products but i have a question: will RotoSub® Active Noise Cancellation ever come? i would love to see it, i would love to work on it too if you need more people:3
We're not pursuing this at the moment because we get so much performance uplift from using tight tip clearances, which would be incredibly challenging to combine with ANC.
Personally, i prefer the Chromax Black version of any Noctua product, but i do have respect or people who like the brown and beige.
Gonna wait for a Chromax Black G2.
I hope too see at the top of the air cooling charts.

interesting choice having 3 different variants of this cooler. huge Noctua fan (pun intended) but not sure the performance increase (and $150 price) justifies an upgrade from the current D15 I am running

I see those new 140mm fans
i wonder how long this has been sitting around and they havent released it because no competition until thermalright came along with peerless assassin
I would be confused as hell about all the variants if I hadn't watched GamersNexus' video about this cooler
Now, the important question is, "Chromax Black edition when?"
Next year in Q1 2025.
Now what if the heatsinks are a little further apart and we get an 140mm 30mm thick fan
Wonder will it only cost more, bcs performance and look are the same.
🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯
...sigh...tbh it is too expensive. ns-d15s chromax black is still the king + it is not that much worse then this - like 2-3 degrees difference with additional 120mm fan.
but it is good that there is a progress in air cooling. happy to own d15s chromax.
G2 performance with 14700K?
Will this be enough for 14700k?

Now if only Watercool would release the MO-RA4
Please make it available in all black and all white.

Can this cool my i5-4590?
Yes! ;)
Looks like it's time to upgrade from my rig that I built in 2015 B)
makeit in white and i will buy it!
Now that there is no more space for heat pipes we probably going to see a V3 with 3 fin stacks & fans 🤣
Damn this cooler is so quiet, i don't even hear sound coming from the video💀
At these metrics, it only puts it on par with the smaller Thermaltake Phantom Spirit with 120mm fans. So unless this is $40 it's a bust.
There are rumors that Intel is addressing bending of IHS from the loading mechanism in their upcoming new socket. Does it make sense to release the high base convexity model on the market?
Sadly, we cannot comment on this due to NDA. However, LGA1700 has been around for a while and has a broad user base, so we're confident that customers will appreciate the advantage this version offers for specific use cases.
Now another 5 year wait for the chromax black version
