is there backward and forward compatibility between major releases of the software run on mkt's by prism of the success rate of import's of the configuration in case you had a backup from 2y, not very much has changed, but you are on much never release of the software ? or vice versa for some reason you need to jump back to stable release ?

I actually have a question - Unless I'm mistaken Backup and Export methods of taking backups are not exchangable to a degree. If I saw correctly the Export file="blah blah" didn't back up your netwatch configuration while the File Manager Backup did - or at least I didn't see any indication of it in the script file. Am I correct?

In essence, backup files exists for restoring configuration like for like on the same piece of hardware. Exports is used to move configurations between hardware. all additional code that has been configured should show up in an export. If the netwatch configuration wasn't there then I had either removed it or restored from a different configuration state that did not have that part of the configuration in it.
