Some years ago... i've made exports of one rb1100ahx4 (Dude Edition) and one of those files after some tests was restored to another router (same model). It has been on production several months.... one day I've decided to put on production the first one.... KABOOOOM!!!! My entire wifi network started to make the most unpredictable errors, loosing of packets, subnets replicated on another ethernet port.... It was my self-made-training of what is one of the most important differences between EXPORT and BACKUP: The mac address of ethernet ports became spoofed on the target when you upload a backup file rather than an export!!!! :)

What is the best method to backup current routeros6 setup and then upgrade to routeros7 but then want to restore/revert to routeros6 and it's configuration? Using the export or/and backup feature?

      Hello,
The best option would be using the export command.
