- Hey guys this is my reaction to and analysis of the color coded lyrics of the song Outro: Tear by the Rapline (RM, SUGA, J-Hope) of K Pop boy group BTS, as well as the live performance of said song. Hope you enjoy!

EsaveoTheArtist This was at Wembley in London. They did two nights... two nights of Hobi in that Dior harness. Theyâre all in Dior. The stage has a cat walk leading to a smaller stage within the audience. The configuration for this postponed tour looked like a catwalk shaped like a 7 with the small stage within the audience.
The Dior outfits were killer....especially Hobi!

This is one of my favorite hobi verses ever, it's so so dramatic and his voice is so emotional, it always gives me chills
I wrote this in the chat too, but seriously, listen to LY:Tear right now... This album has my favorite vocal line song (The Truth Untold) and my favorite rap line song (Outro: Tear) as well as songs like 134340, Anpanman, and Magic Shop which are all amazing... seriously the whole thing is iconic.
Love Maze and Paradise too đ©...it's my fav album and Outro: Tear is my fav track on it
Also the lyrics from the first 7 songs on the album tell a story if you read the lyrics in order

We found out that Yoongi wrote his part thinking of bangtan when the group thought of disbanding. They listened and all cried together âčïž
Suga wrote his part when BTS was going through a very difficult time between 2015-2016 and was deeply contemplating the idea of ââdisband. Fortunately, they decided to continue and a few months later they released the album Love Yourself: Tear, which was a worldwide success.
Yeah I didn't know about that until after the reaction & it just adds that much more depth to an already great song!
got the timeline slightly wrong they this was released in 2018. not sure when it was written cause sadly theres been a few times bts thought of disbanding for different reasons 1 not having enough funds in the early days, 2 the hate they were getting, 3 the pressure of fame etc 2018 was a very hard year so i wouldnt be surprised if it was written within the same year it was released.
It's actually in 2018 when they talked abt disbandment. Yoongi said this in Break the Silence

@@LynnHermione look up BTS" speech at MAMA 2018 for Artist of the Year. They were thinking of disbanding in the beginning of 2018. Coincidentally, 2018 is also the year when they re-signed the extension of their contract with BigHit, so presumably there were talks about not extending any further.

yes your are right. yoongi says tear as in torn and rm says tear as in crying. the title of the song is tear as in crying because the album is called Love Yourself: Tear (crying). also i agree that j-hopes dior outfit amazinggg
If a word has multiple meanings, they are the type of artists to use them all in the same song XD they're lyrical geniuses, so both tears work

I have a love and hate relationship with this song live.
Don't get me wrong, the song is fire and they are hot af , but at the concert this song is right after the vocal line The Truth Untold, and Jiminie cried during the performance in Brazil, so I was like crying with him, and then BAM outro tear in my face. Lol
The amazing outfits were made by Dior for the tour.
as far as where the performance was, i think that this was from wembly stadium. it was super cool cuz they did a live stream of the whole concert, so i was able to watch it while it happened. itâs a great song, and the album love yourself: tear is also a fantastic album.

The usage of tear as in teardrop and tear as in to rip is genius, with a follow up of fear. This was written by Yoongi in 2018 when BTS was doing really well in growth, but not well mentally. They were considering disbanding. Yoongi wrote and played this for the members and he said they cried. Knowing this breaks our hearts.

In the BTS docu-series called Break The Silence, Suga said, "the lyrics for *'Tear'* were written for the members. When I was writing the melody at the time, we were deeply contemplating whether we should quit or not. When I played the song for the members, we all cried together."
This was one of my absolute fave tracks but then we learned that they are singing about the time the group almost disbanded and it is hard to enjoy it without thinking about that...
After this performance they went straight into mic drop with full choreography and dance break... which i just realized you haven't watched yet!
You should check out the dance practice or the live performance from mma 2017 it was super hype. The mv for it doesn't show the whole dance or any of the dance breaks.
This is my favorite rap line song. Just everything about it is outstanding, the lyrics, the production, the delivery and performance. And the outfits, Hobi killed me with this one, this is his best fit ever! Dior suits him so well!

I can't even begin to describe the absolute power and raw emotion that could be felt throughout the whole stadium when I saw this in NJ.....it was AMAZING! On a side note, Dior designed their outfits (first time ever).

Omg!!! I recommended this one way back when you first started reacting to them! This is absolutely in my top three BTS songs. It is a lyrical and musical masterpiece imho. And yes Hobie wrecks everyone when they perform this live. He is a revelation live.

In the live performance you just hear the emotion, especially hobi's end
This video was basically you contemplating if the song was tear or tear.. yeah.. lol Outro: Tear is my favorite rap line song tbh the lyrics, the music production everything! This song in the concert is literally near the end (after almost 15 songs) so yeah they're tired and after that they do mic drop with a dance break so I conclude they are not human

My favorite BTS song of all time. This song is about BTS contemplating breaking up with all the painful words, feelings and tears. Its incredibly moving and heart breaking. They said when they listened to it together they all cried.
I love watching you geek out to the song and production :) This song is a masterpiece in my opinion and live it is insane. Now since the recent revelation from Suga (From the Break the Silence docu series) about the meaning and context the song was written from it is is even more emotional and powerful. It is about their relationship as a group. I have heard many people say they were moved to tears watching this in concert it is so intense.
Never forget that these boys are masters of word play in both Korean and English. So intelligent. Mad respect.

anyone can appreciate the song without any analysis... but when you delve into the intricacies, you realize why BigHit and BTS are like no other because they kick your a** in every single aspect from production, lyrics, stylistics, metaphor, flow, synergy and differentiation, collectivism and individualism. I remember this song felt particularly insane/amazing on the day it came out, like going into it with absolutely no idea about what to expect...
With the instrumental to begin with, I was half expecting a vocal line song because of the piano, or maybe a song with OT7, and then Namjoon's rap suddenly hits, I distinctly remember being like......

Also somehow it feels even faster in the live version? Maybe its just me? When I first saw it live it really hit me how fast the rap is, in a way that the track hadn't particularly done before, whether it is due to all the extra emotion that they pour into their live performances?

Hobi's performer in the end for me is the best part in the video, is amazing. The way that he moves his body when he is singing, the intensity is brutal.
