Everything Yoongi mentioned in amygdala is true, especially the accident he suffered in his shoulder when he was a trainee at the company and also working, and he could not say anything about his injury for fear of being fired. Yoongi endured the pain in his shoulder for many years until he had the operation in 2020. He was literally in severe pain during all the work he worked on, the exercises he trained, and the dance he danced. He is a true warrior, Yoongi is a very deep artist You can easily relate to him and his suffering ، purple u 💜

Min Yoong openly talks about his battles with depression, anxiety, and OCD. When you see pills it would not be street drugs, but prescription meds for treatment. His song ' The Last' he really gets raw about what he went through. Once you get a good understanding of Min Yoongi's battles his Rap lyrics hit you a thousand times harder. 💜

It is true about his parents and his motorcycle accident. (Fortunately, his parents are currently healthy.)
He injured his shoulder in an accident before his debut, but did not tell the company or the members. He feared he would not be able to make his debut.
For many years he danced through the pain in his shoulder with painkiller injections and was finally able to have the surgery in the COVID season.
He is raw and strong man.

Others here have described Yoongi's story, so I will try to explain what Amygdala has meant to me & why I am so grateful for Yoongi & his songwriting.
I am 54 years old & it took a young man from another country, speaking a language I don't know, to sift through my troubled mind & bring an epiphany to light for me. The common language of childhood trauma is a cross no one wants to bear, but so many do every damned day of their lives.
You are often forced to make first best, second best, & third best, (or worst) choices every day to survive childhood abuse or trauma. Many times I made the worst choice for myself in order to appease others.
My epiphany came in this video when I watched young Yoongi trying to open the door to save his older self. When I saw this, I sobbed my eyes out. I've always felt as an adult, that I abandoned my child self to her terrible fate, to save myself later. Sometimes there's still a part of me who feels like my younger self trapped in a repeating cycle of abuse. I've often silently screamed for someone to help her, because I don't want to go back there. This song was the first time it occurred to me that maybe my child self has been trying to save my older self all along, trying to open the door, not because *she's* trapped, but because I am.
People who haven't experienced trauma or who don't think very deeply about their past often say things like, "just let it go." They don't understand the duality & they think that you can just get over "bad things" by gluing a smile on your face & pretending to be okay. Trust me, I've done that at times for over 40 years & it's not a permanent fix. Some days you have to "go back there" & face yourself.
Thank you Yoongi, I'm so thankful you're a genius too. 💜

Thanks for this reaction Caio❤❤. Amigdala is a song about his struggles. The accident and all the mental struggles portrayed in this song is real. In early days they struggled for money and he was not able to take bus to home if he ate food for two times.
So at that time he did some part time job as delivery boy and met with an accident in 2013 which caused some troubles in his shoulder but he couldn't ask Agency for medication because agency was unaware about his part time job.
As time went his shoulder pain began to disturb him and it became worse and he underwent surgery in 2019..
    In many of his songs
he referring to the mental health and gives advice to the people. YES he is a genius..
In MV he is struggling to open that door to get rid of his worries but in his Dday tour concert before his enlistment he managed to open that door and happily waves to the Army.
Please check out his another song "Snooze", he cried singing it in his D day tour concert.and please check out his solo tour 'D day' when you get time. There were 25 solo concerts before his enlistment.it was really a emotional roller-coaster for both him and army. He really missed his brothers on stage.

From google: The amygdala is the part of the brain that's most closely associated with fear, emotions, and motivation. Its name means “almond” because it is almond-shaped. If you see something that frightens you, your amygdala might tell your body to panic.
Like other said, everything in Amygdala really happened. He did struggle with depression and social anxiety. One of my favourite songs from Agust D is "The Last", it is very emotional and agressive at the same time, and he talks about his mental health issues.
Also, when they talk about the haters it's a lot worse than the usual online hate, the whole industry was against them in the beginning, because they were rising only because of their fans and talent and they didn't go the usual route, the TV stations would cut their performances, they would not be invited. The underground rappers that Suga and RM worked with before BTS invited them on a radio show and offended them in their face, they were betrayed by people they considered friends. It's a lot to unpack, but they talk about a lot of that in their songs.

caio!! Thank you for watching Daechwita and Amygdala in order after the Haegeum reaction. As you can see in the comments, it is not Japan, but Korean traditional costumes (blond suga king and street vendors) and traditional streets. Korea is located between China and Japan, so there have been active exchanges for a long time, and although they look similar due to the influence of each other, they are very different from each other, starting with their clothing. China - cheongsam, Japan - kimono, Korea - hanbok. Korea is very sensitive to the history and culture that it has preserved despite being invaded countless times by China and Japan. The contents of Daechwita MV are explained in DKDKTV, so I recommend it. Amygdala's lyrics are true. Most of Yoongi's song lyrics are autobiographical. Amygdala MV shows why the scars appeared in the previous two MVs. The scar on his right eye means a deep wound he inflicted on himself. If you watch the three music videos, the scar is the deepest on the amygdala, and from Daechwita to Haegeum, the scar has healed a lot.
And Caio! I recommend my favorite song Agust D-Snooze.💜

    Haegeum
Agust D is literally talking about everything that is wrong in the world right now. Since haegeum is a traditional instrument but also means liberation of prohibition. He is really asking who's on board for the revolution, for the new world, for the new kingdom and to get on board now. So we can fix everything that is broken. This is a masterpiece. The lyrics and wordplay are incredible. This is what rap in my humble opinion should be. A way of making people aware of all the social, economical issues and more. And Suga just did that. To add further layers to this, it’s really pointed commentary on capitalism or essentially: feudalism. What became his weapon in the beginning (his tool to criticise & stand up) became a utensil. In the end he has to partake in this because of obligation. literally; to feed himself.
A Thailand ARMY (shout out to Sky_hxneul) was kind enough to educate us and explain that this was filmed in Thailand and that place is called the "Thief Market" Rattanakosin Island's (Old name of Thailand from 1782-1892) and it was the first international shoping center in the period after the abolition of slavery.. This is how he explained it : so this market came to exist because the people in the palace freed from slavery when they moved out of the palace, they received some goods from the master and also stole some They then brought those goods to sell them in this area. Now we know that Haegeum is a traditional instrument but also means the liberation of the prohibition.
SUGA: "Haegeum can refer to the traditional instrument but Haegeum as a lift on a ban. In the past, when I was young and I played things like rhythm games, there were songs called "unlocked songs" if you beat a stage, you get the unlocked songs. Idols... Honestly, despite not committing crimes even a little thing becomes this big or doing something that could be considered a controversy, it becomes "Are they allowed to be like that?" I didn't really understand it even when I was young. But of course, that didn't mean I went around causing trouble. So, in the music video, there are smoking scenes and things like that. If this becomes a controversy when l'm 31 then really, as a social phenomenon, it makes me strongly wonder how I'm supposed to accept this. Like, let's unlock those banned things. And since people can see so much information within the palm of their hand, imagining or thinking. Even I started not doing them. So, regarding those things, let's get liberated. With advanced technology, we're able to get all kinds of information and see the situations happening on the other side of the planet while sitting. But I strongly felt those things kind of prohibiting my life actually. I can live without walking on eggshells as much. You have to live doing the things you want."
"Scar dude”, is Agust D. He always has a scar. Representing his own scars. His alter ego, Agust D. He's always portrayed as a villain, a person in power, but nevertheless a villain. He's Suga's opposite side who holds lots of anger, fear, sadness, resentment, vengefulness his darker emotions. Previously in Daechwita, BOTH Suga AND Agust D had scars. He was in a different state of mind, he said he had lots of anger, but here only Agust D has a scar, it's not as red, meaning he's healing, but Suga has none. He's trying to get rid of that side of himself here. And Suga is Suga, himself. It's always been Suga VS Agust D. But he said in IU's “Palette” that he's changed a lot and has learned to forgive and be a happier person, so Agust D can go to rest now. That side of Suga, Agust D, is gone....for now. He says he's not sure when he'll come back....IF he ever comes back, however he said if those strong emotions return, then so will Agust D. It's kind of bittersweet. He said somewhere in the physical album that from this point on, we can expect to see "SUGA"'s debut....not Agust D, but SUGA in his next album.
My opinion on the story between the two, and this is just my theory, relates to how much of the Haegeum MV was inspired by the film The Dark Knight. There's a quote in the movie that says, "You either die a hero, or live love enough to see yourself become the villain." In Daechwita, King Agust D is a tyrant and "lower class" Agust D is the hero, with each having the scar showing that they're one and the same. Lower class Agust D becomes the hero by shooting the king, taking his place. In Haegeum, only Cop Agust D has the scar. He is the same Agust D that shot the king, going on to become everything that he used to fight against, effectively living long enough to become the villain. He fought the king to take down the system, but them became the head of that very same system, enforcing the laws of that system that he swore to fight against. I think that the lyrics relate well to this idea also, being a slave to all of the things that you think are setting you free. "Differentiate freedom from self indulgence”. I think that is interesting that the original Agust D became the Mad King and the D-2 Agust D became a corrupt cop it very much reads as a critique on corruption by money and power. Especially as both die at the end.
I think I got a little repetitive there, but I hope you got what I meant!
    So, in order:
First Agust D, blonde and scarred, killed by
Second Agust D, black hair scarred: killed by
Final Agust D is actually Suga.
The first Agust D was created in the past, as seen in AMYGDALA.
    ✧ ✦ ✧ ✧ ✦ ✧
    AMYGDALA
Now, the amygdala is the part of the brain (limbic system) that brings about a flight or fight response. The amygdala releases stress hormones that prepare the body to fight the threat or flee from the danger. Common emotions that trigger this response include fear, anger, anxiety, and aggression.
It's all true. Everything. It all happened to him. If you think about the lyrics of "The Last", he mentioned already his depression, the s**cidal thoughts (the part beeeped in the song, the question the doctor asked him back then). The accident when he was a delivery boy pre-debut (he was a trainee) that destroyed his shoulder. We sort of knew about his mum's heart surgery that happened when he was born. We knew nothing about his dad's cancer until he mentioned it in the song. The scar he inflicts to himself connects to Daechwita and Haegeum, it's how his angry personality was born. It might also be seen as him trying not to "see" these memories over and over again. The room is the amygdala, the part of our brain that stores unpleasant memories to make us feel the "danger" when something happens. His younger self coming back and trying to open the door...he tried ro save himself, but there's no escape from the memories. And yet, thinking about Haegeum, he managed to kill his scarred self, symbolising that even if he will never forget, at least he's at peace. He also mentioned to Namjoon in R-Chwita episode yesterday that those dark thoughts cyclically return. It's...a lot. A lot. Sending hugs.

Fun fact! Daechwita only has one beat throughout the song, it’s Yoongi’s rapping, flow and tone change that makes it feel like every verse has a different beat. It’s his polymetric rap flows, his agogic accents, or his use of syncopation to rap in between beats that makes him such a distinguished rapper. His signature rap style of being ahead of the beat, & then slowing down or speeding up his cadence giving the ultimate tension and release with his flow is so impressive. This man can build up 16 bars just by starting ahead of the beat, move to hitting behind, refuse to resolve the bar and then start hitting non traditional notes. Not only can he spit bars super fast, HE’S A FUCKING GENIUS, building palaces around other industry rappers with his lyrics and flows.
"Bang PD-nim told me I've become much brighter after releasing my mixtape (in reference to the letter and how he released his first mixtape as a way to let out toxic emotions). He even asked me where the indecisive person full of wrath from before had gone. It was my complex and the way to solve it was music that I need to make".
To begin with, “Daechwita” is the Korean word to refer to the traditional marching music played at the time of a King’s arrival. It is also played to announce important guests and other royalty. The music video starts with the King Agust D with a scar running across his eye. It looks fresh and hasn’t completely healed over yet. The other protagonist of the video is Agust D as a lowborn, also with a scar running across his face, completely healed over. This is relevant in order to show a natural progression and further reinforce that these two characters are simply versions of the same person in and out of time.
The King represents AGUST D of the past, with wounds fresh from the humiliation, malicious comments of haters and lack of support is defensive and reacts violently to opposition. A Suga full of ambition and anger (represented by his iconic blond hair from his first mixtape Agust D). This King is a tyrant, who kills those who oppose him and steops in his subjects. Yoongi himself has said that he used to be a very angry person who was overwhelmed with his career and mental health issues (as per a letter he shared on the Bangtan Fan Café, interviews afterwards and his mixtapes themselves).
For AGUST D of the present, the lowborn, those scars have faded away, leaving behind a more mature persona. In Korean tradition, a man or woman with a scar is barred from coveting the throne even if it rightfully belongs to them. As such, the fact that the King has an evident scar right on his face proves that he’s probably had to fight off all royalty to retain his position. It is likely that he wasn’t born royal either and had to fight his way up to the top. Having struggled so much, the King is wary of outsiders and taken on the role of a tyrant so that nobody can even dare to threaten his place. Taking the easy way out, he executes whoever complains, signified by the kneeling figures in black and disembodied victims of the King..
Peasant Suga is his current self, grounded and surrounded by others (as seen by him being backed by his crew of 6 other men and a woman, is quietly making the moves to stage a coup. He’s loved by the people and he has connections everywhere. The 6 men in his crew represent the rest of the members of BTS and the woman represents ARMY). The rest of the MV is pretty self-explanatory, with the "lowborn" AGUST D shooting The King. He's decided to kill the tyrant King through a Coup. He is trying to kill his toxic past self (which can also be a reference to his previous mixtape's song The Last: "Min Yoongi was dead. -I killed him-") to fully embrace who he is now; someone who doesn't care about charts or hatred from others, someone who isn't bothered by money and whose ambitions are less greedy and more rooted in artistry rather than a twisted idea of success. He doesn't need to fight to be at the top anymore, he already is. He KNOWS this, it isn't arrogance, it's just a fact; and he's settled with who he is now.
Daechwita’s music video single-handedly chalks the progression from Suga’s first mixtape to his latest, from being a young rapper to a professional Grammy-nominated artist. In order to reach this place, Suga has had to reject parts of himself that focused entirely on the negatives, on rage and on the material aspects of his success. He’s had to fight his shadow (a concept we see in his own solo from MOTS: 7 - Shadow), represented by the King Agust D and only when he could overpower his shadow, his true self could prevail. I think that listening to both his mixtapes is a great way to understand why the shift between D-2 Yoongi and Agust D Yoongi is so jarring but beautiful as well. Agust D and The Last are a wonderful way to start, so I would love if you reacted to those two songs next! You can feel how much of different place he's in now compared to back then. The Last is very heavy, though, so be careful!
Yoongi was involved in all aspects of this song and music video and had great input into how the music video was designed/produced (working as usual with Director Lumpens (Choi YongSeok) who does most BTS MVs) - Yoongi wrote, produced, composed the song, he conceptualised the MV and had creative control, all in his "spare" time for his fans as part of his second mix tape (D-2) that he gave to ARMY for free on soundcloud... He literally never stops creating. D-2 Album interview - czcams.com/video/qLw8gLqf0bE/video.html
BOOKISH THEORIES also does brilliant explanations to BTS work - Daechwita explanation czcams.com/video/_-4njtd0WpE/video.html (better than dkdktv's in my personal opinion), check it out if you're interested!
    Other Video Fun facts -
    1. The executione is actually the butcher shown at the beginning of the MV, the one peasant Suga greets.
2- He is, also, the director of lighting haha
    3. The gun used to kill the King was a Colt M 1860 ARMY
    4. They were going to use a really expensive modern car but it wouldn't drift so then they went with the old car that was really flash when Yoongi was young
    5. The picture on the banner the guys held up half way through is an iconic image drawn by JK of their boss PD Bang and Suga did the iconic PD Bang finger spin!
    6. Jin and JK make a cameo in the video! Try to find them hehe
Daejanggeum Park is where the MV was filmed.... It is a giant film set that doubles as a public historical park where people can come to "experience" old times.
Yoongi (Suga) is a member of the clan of the very last empress of Korea.

I was really shocked when the music video of Amigudara came out Because it was a sad ending, but when the world tour of this album started, I realized that this story was connected to a live performance. The stage with heavy rain and thunder, Yoongi, who is carried in like a ritual, is the beginning of the live show. His world tour schedule was harsh, his cold and bad physical condition, and the situation where he kept performing alone for two hours, was ridiculous. But when Yoongi and Ami are together, the energy of the live show is amazing A tremendous amount of purification energy came out. Although the fatigue was supposed to build up day by day, Yoongi's expression got better and better. At the end of the song, the floor is dismantled one by one and disappears to the ceiling, I felt it symbolized healing. He cried and laughed a lot with Ami, and ran through D-DAY's world tour until the end. Like the concept of the album, he opened everything up and celebrated D-DAY. It was such a wonderful thing. Thank you for watching. I'm sorry if it's a strange translation of English

Amygdala is the last in the trilogy but it actually shows the beginning of his story; all the things he went through that he can't forget. It shows how he got the scar (symbolic, of course) and he carries it through Deachwita (both the mad king and the rebel) and in Haeguem, only the rebel police has the scar and the "new" Yoongi (Suga) does not have the scar anymore- he then kills that part of himself. At the end of his tour, he walked through the white door at the end. Quite the journey he took us on and he finished it beautifully.

Caio...
E neste último show ele revelou. O ombro lesionado no acidente.

Ele trainava as dancas e sentia muitas dores.
