Keel Guard 1 Year Product Review (Did It Hold Up)

It's been a year since I installed the PereGuard Kayak Keel Guard on my Pelican Bass Raider. Now it's time to give you all a complete review on how this product works. Jett, for my keel guard I bought some Kydex off Amazon and used a hot air gun to "sort of" shape to the bottom of keel. I used Gorilla double side Heavy Duty tape to attach after carefully cleaning with alcohol So far, after 6 months of pretty harsh use everything is still in place. You may want to consider reattaching yours with that Gorilla Tape. I got mine from Walmart. Just make sure it's the high strength stuff. Keep the videos coming! ~John

Good honest review. If you used 303 protectant on the kayak before install, that's probably why It didn't stick.

...BEING THAT THE BOAT IS MADE OF PLASTIC , THE CHANCES THAT IT HAS A RELEASING AGENT APPLIED TO THE MOLD TO HELP WITH THE REMOVAL OF THE FINISHED HULL IS PRETTY GREAT...THAT BEING SAID , YOU SHOULD CLEAN THE AREA YOU ARE GOING TO APPLY THE " SHEILDING " WITH RUBBING ALCOHOL TO REMOVE THE RELEASING FLIM AND MAYBE SCUFF IT UP A LITTLE TO HELP WITH ADHESION...JUST A THOUGHT...👍

That just may be the case I did clean it pretty well with rubbing alcohol. As far as ruffing up the surface area I did not try that maybe that what happened. I appreciate the advice.... Thanks for watching 👍🏾
