    You're invited to follow along on the adventure as we seek to live a quieter, more independent, prepared, free, family and Jesus-centered life. We've learned a lot from others to get us this far and still have a lot left to learn and do. We hope you'll be encouraged to do the same and leave what many consider to be a regular life behind and embrace perhaps the older but maybe more fulfilling way of life. We'll be homesteading, doing DIY home renovation and improvement, talking about gear, making vehicle repairs and modifications, and more. We're not giant working ranch, but we felt the name fit more than a "homestead."

    Hell yeah man. My 2019 l5p is lowered 2 inches with 22x12s. Been nervous as all hell to do a norcal myself, but you convinced me! Badass video man. Thank you.

    My truck is lowered and I’m gonna be doing the exact modifications on my 16 Silverado 2500. Best detailed video I’ve seen. Thank you!

      Wow, that means a lot. Glad it helps! I've got a video on rough country upper control arms and some other suspension components coming out soon. May or may not interest you. Hope your truck turns out exactly the way you want it.

    The fender wells are made out of that material to absorb sound

      Thanks, I appreciate it Tom! If I did it again I'd probably aim to be a little cleaner.

    I can't begin to tell you how many things you did wrong. Shoulda watched more hows to videos before you slaughtered that fender. It's ok, I did my first one wrong too.

      It's also a time thing. If I had a garage and more time I would have cared. You don't see the hidden metal anyway. The front bumper is going to go anyway. I certainly wouldn't charge anyone to do it to their ride lol.

    So I’ve read that you have to re gear your truck and a bunch of suspension crap if you want to ride 35s and re program your speedometer. Have you had any issues with any of this ?

    • @WildMountainGarage
      @WildMountainGarage  Před 2 lety +1

      Nah, the difference from stock to 35's isn't a big one. Maybe 2 MPH at 65. As for regearing, maybe if you were running 37's or larger you'd want it, but the L5P has so much power and torque it runs like a champ with no discernable difference towing and not and up to and over 90mph. If you've got an old Cummins or something that's a big doggy out of the gate you might want to change the rear diff gearing, but with modern power and the small jump to 35's no issue. You can reprogram tire size if you have a tool like this, which I've considered but never had the math for 35's in my head when running diag. I just know I'm a few MPH faster at highway speeds than what the speedo says. You just won't have accurate MPG or technically odometer which is why I'm going to do it the next time I've got the computer hooked up. @WildMountainGarage  Před 3 lety +2

      Awesome. Great question. I have another video showing that I put a 2+" level on it - Suspension Maxx. Worth the price IMO if you can swing it. czcams.com/video/6-XePSx7A0Q/video.html

  • @AZGunner-mp7yx

    Yeah should’ve just trimmed the bumper upfront without taking it off. Would’ve saved you some time man, gotta be honest 4 wheel supply charges $125 bucks to do a bumper trim without looking like a hack job and a procomp leveling kit for $200 would’ve fixed your problem.

    • @WildMountainGarage
      @WildMountainGarage  Před 3 lety +1

      I have a 2+ inch level. I'd have had to have trim much more off the bumper without spacing it. And I'd rather do it myself. It's fine for what it is and I'll be getting rid of this bumper eventually. Sounds like you didn't watch the whole thing. Thanks for the comment though.

    • @WildMountainGarage
      @WildMountainGarage  Před 3 lety

      Sorry I don't remember the size! I just took a bolt to the hardware store, matched a nut to it then matched the nut to a longer bolt.
