    I ALWAYS make my body post holes, and do all my trimming first, before paint. Why do all that extra handling on a freshly painted body? Besides, if you mess it up, so much for that gorgeous paint job. Also wondered why the one 'finished product' had stickers on the windows?
    All in all though, a nice handy video. A great color combination as well. Looks really nice.

    • @ProLineRacingYT
      @ProLineRacingYT  Před 5 lety +2

      Hi @Allen Thomas,
      The paint is ready to spray out of the bottle using a .5mm tip at 30-40psi.
      If using a .35mm or smaller tip the paint needs a little reducer added (5-10% per how much paint is in the cup) at 45-55psi.

    I've been having trouble with bubbles in my body. someone told me to use a rough sponge and before washing it rough up the body. I did that on my next vehicle and it did the same thing even though not as much. I use shoe goo and fiberglass drywall tape to protect the paint but nobody in know has an issue with that. This is what I'm thinking, for paints I use Tamiya acrylic paints should I use another brand or another base? Tamiya is a good Brad but is there one that's better? My hobby shop recommended the paints I use and they are meant for RC vehicles

    • @ProLineRacingYT
      @ProLineRacingYT  Před 5 lety +2

      Hi @Master of Cluts,
      We do not recommend scuffing your rc body before painting. Cleaning the body properly is the key to having the paint stick to the body and a overall successful paint job. Tamiya PS rattle can paints can get the job done, but our ready to spray paints gives your more precision and the option to mix colors if needed.

    • @ProLineRacingYT
      @ProLineRacingYT  Před 4 lety +2

      Hi @Jonny Depth,
      Yes, the paint should spray an even color once poured into the airbrush after being shaken well.

    Any tips on how to redo a body that's already been painted?
    Has anyone had any success on painting from the outside?
    I have the stock body that came on my Redcat Danchee Ridgerock, and I want to redo the body in more of a surface rust covered, paint faded, "rat rod" type of weathered style, after I modify the back end a little the resemble an old-school homemade offroad wrecker/towtruck.
    I've already assumed I'll have to lightly sand the entire surface for the paint to stick. (All factory stickers have already been removed.)
    I'll probably have to buy a plastic based spray paint primer for the base coat.
    But I've never tried painting this type of material before, and I'm certainly never tried it with something that's going to see the type of abuse an RV rock crawler will face.
    So I'm hoping others have *successfully* attempted painting the bodies from the outside, and can give me some things to look out for and be aware of.

      Our Ready-To-Spray RC Body Paint adheres very well to polycarbonate bodies. Backing your paint scheme with a final solid color will ad some protection, but you can also use well placed tape inside concerning areas like inner fenders to prevent chipping and add some extra durability.

But I prefer using liquid mask instead of tape and for that I use a hvlp sprayer I got for $14 at Harbor Freight. Any of those airbrushes will get you started. Hi Paul 815 & PhilthyCo RC,
      How much you must cut or trim and how you mount your body is entirely dependent on the specific type of truck you may have. This is a generalization on how to paint all poly carbonate bodies. The process shown here is how majority of the photo bodies found on our website and in our videos were painted (admittedly some with masks cut by a plotter).
      There are many different techniques to all forms of painting, this is just our answer to how we paint ours! We may be releasing more HOW-TO's on setting up your body, so make sure you're subscribed!
      We encourage customers to experiment and try new techniques when customizing their RC.

    I wish I can say I had an easy experience with Proline RC Paint. Despite using an airbrush with a 0.5mm needle & nozzle, the proline RC Paint ended up a spattery mess :-( And it rubbed off the body shell very easily, despite washing the body shell with dish soap, keying it, and wiping it down with alcohol
    Suffice to say I'm now stripping the bodyshell, and will respray using Tamiya PS Sprays.

      I had a similar experience with the paint rubbing off easily.
      I painted two Tekno brand bodies at the same time. One for a Tekno EB48 2.0 and another for a Tekno EB410.2.
      I lightly scuffed up the inside of the bodies with very fine grit sandpaper (except for the windows obviously), washed thoroughly with Dawn dish soap and dried completely.
      I airbrushed a few very light first coats of fluorescent yellow Pro-Line paint and allowed them to dry for hours before applying more coats followed by more drying time. I backed with Pro-Line white airbrush paint.
      Even after drying (curing) for over a week, the paint still scratches off extremely easily. I've only used Tamiya rattle cans in the past. Airbrushing the Pro-Line paints was a pleasant experience and the end results looked great, but the paint seems to have almost no adhesion to the polycarbonate bodies.
      What did I do wrong?

      Hi Simon Young,
      We do not paint our windows, we include window masks with our bodies for that reason. Tamiya has a rattle can of paint called Smoke, part# PS-31 that we have been using to tint our windows until we release transparent paint colors.

    Got to Pro-Line bodies for Christmas for my trx4 never will buy Pro-Line product again as much as they cost expected they would fit and be a lot better than they were they should have been 25 or $30 bodies instead of 55, the guy in customer service was very short-tempered with me they would not replace the battery that had defects because I couldn't send them a picture and they wanted me to face shipping back to them if I couldn't send a picture and that's not right when you get a defective product , like I said will never buy Pro-Line products again

      Hi @Pop Wall,
      We are sorry to hear of your unfortunate experience with our product and our customer service. We now have a new support ticket system at support.prolineracing.com/.
      We however do not produce batteries, so I am not sure which product you are referring to. Also photos of defects are to verify proof of purchase as well as to prevent fraud. Please follow our customer service guidelines and we will be more than happy to assist you!

    For the cost of the bodies there’s no reason the decal sheets don’t come pre cut. That’s ridiculously stupid that on top of all the tedious body cutting and sanding and then masking and painting process ya still have to sit there with an exacto knife and cut out decals!!? Smh
