Very impressed with Jakeâs shot selection, consistent power, cardio, body shots, 5/4 punch combinations, defense in the later rounds, chin, & determination. I was lowkey concerned for him cause Silva was out landing him in the clinch(that uppercut in the clinch had aimbot btw) but Jake weathered the storm completely. Even tho I donât like him he definitely has my respect after this performance.

Jake definitely showed he improved in the long break from Woodley two, which he didnât look great in btw. He looked pretty good, and for the influencer side heâs so clearly top. One thing I havenât seen mentioned too much is his stamina, he wasnât gassed at the end of those 8 rounds. Not sure any other influencer could do that, gib and maybe ksi I guess

What people are not giving Jake enough credit for is how much abuse he took and still was able to fight his way through it. There were some rounds where Anderson went absolutely beast mode on him and unleashed a fury of combinations. And Jake actually got hit pretty hard in the face and chin numerous times, and just took the shots in stride.
Also, while he did use the clinch strategically, he actually didn't use it that often. Go back and watch the fight, and there were a handful of moments where Silva was aggressively moving forward and pushing him into the ropes/corners - and Jake was able to box his way out of the situation. He not only took the hits but was able to counterpunch at close-range and maneuver out of the dangerous situation.
THAT is why I'm impressed with Jake. And it also shoots down the criticisms people are making that Paul just beat another "50-year-old retired fighter". For 90% of the fight Silva did not look gassed, and he was incredibly dangerous. If it was true that Jake beat him due to his age, then Silva wouldn't have dominated him for several rounds and forced him to use high-level boxing IQ to survive their exchanges.
This was a great fight, pure and simple. Jake took on a dangerous fighter and came out on top. If you compare his cardio from Woodley 2 vs Silva - it's mind blowingly night and day difference.

Jakes cardio is next level. The pace of that fight was intense and Jake was active and dangerous for all 8 rounds. That was the most impressive thing to me. Shows how hard he works it's insanely difficult to build a gas tank like that.

Tbh I think the drop in weight was good for Jake. He's not Logan, being nearly 200 pounds is not healthy for him especially being just 6ft whereas his brother weighs the same being I assume 3 inches taller. His speed, cardio and combination punches were significantly better than the Woodley fights and I think that's really attributed to being much lighter.
He's also better than I thought, and better than what people think in general. Incredibly impressive win

As much as it is impressive what heâs achieved, he is also a product of the great team around him. Not many early professionals would have access to the facilities and coaching he has access to. That must also be a massive part of his fast tracking of the sport. That being said, he has an insane ability to find key punches at key times. Iâm not sure how easy it is to teach that

It's a super entertaining to see how far full determination and an unlimited training budget can get you when you start as an adult.
I've always loved your channel from the start. But man it's such a breath of fresh air to hear someone with such a great channel be so unbiased and just speak facts and knowledge about the sport and fighters regardless of whatever opinions you have ever had you have never strayed away from being the realest. Jake took a lot of hard uppercuts. When he got hit round 1 with a straight left by Anderson I thought it was the beginning of the end. Great chin on Jake. Anderson took some hard body shots early. I could hear the thump over all of the noise. I'm confident those body shots slowed him down and drained his tank.
The uppercut defense is probably something Jake's team is gonna have him work on for the next fights

So step back a bit and throw a hook as a counter .
I think they should run a lot more footwork, head movement, and general defense drills to have him more confident to not use the clinch

His footwork did look like it clearly improved since Woodley but he still has a lot of room for improvement (not a bad thing since he's only 2.5 years into his pro career after just 1 amateur fight). Head movement is another huge thing he needs to continue working on. The biggest problems he was having in this match were in the clinch (Anderson's best shots/moments were there) and on the ropes. Best improvements from Jake since his last fight were his cardio and better combination output.

Was a very competitive fight and major props to both of them. Silva did a great job avoiding the overhand for most the fight. The uppercuts when Jake Paul came in was a very nice touch. I do think age effected him but he still performed like a very skilled boxer.

Main 2 things I took away from this fight:
1) Jake has better cardio. I think this may be due to more intensive training as well as a more energy-efficient power punching style he adopted.
2) Jake has an unbelievable chin that no one is talking about. Even though my boxing coach told me never to fight with my chin, the combination of power punching and a great chin will make Jake a menace for future fighters.

I was extremely surprised how well jake fought, definitely think Anderson was landing some huge shots (I think they both were even in power shot totals?) and was moving forward for most of the fight. Also, we have to keep in mind an athlete with 30 years of fighting experience is going to wear damage worse than a 25-year-old with 7 fights.

Cardio is one of the hardest aspects of boxing, and props to Jake for staying active for all 8.

before this fight i thought jake defeats ksi pretty easily but after seeing silvas performance i couldnt help but think kis would give jake more trouble, i think ksi has more power than silva had in this fight and i think ksi puts a lot more pressure on jake as well as having great stamina and an incredible drive and motivation to win. now im not saying ksi wins against jake but i am saying i think they are a closer matchup than what some people would leas you to believe and by 2023 there could definately be an even fight between them that could go either way

The skill and distance management Silva even at this age has is far beyond the likes of KSI or any other youtubers atm including Jake. KSI has power but so does Jake and heâs definitely not pushing Jake back that easy when he knows he can get dropped himself. KSI was caught by fkn Swarmz on the chin. This actually reminded me of the Floyd fight a little given it was obviously way more competitive. Silva, just like Floyd did to Logan, toyed with Jake and tried to let him gas out, then when he couldnât easily dispose of jake midway through the fight got frustrated and started head hunting for the knock out. Silva was throwing wild power shots, using no jabs and barely looked to counter, never seen him fight like that before.

Why sadly? The other influencers just haven't been working as hard as him. Granted, they aren't making anywhere near the same money through boxing either so it's tougher to be motivated. Real boxers don't work as hard either (e.g. Hasim Rahman Jr being exposed by his own dad for it).

ksi was struggling to get a clean finish, he has showed he has power and he will got after you and pressure you but i think jake is too good and will know how to handle jj style of boxing, the problem with the people ksi faced is they didn;t know how to deal with that including logan.
I really liked the way Jake looked in this fight, however I don't see as much significant progress in terms of boxing ability since the Woodley fight; but his cardio has gotten increasingly better since that fight which has helped him throw over 40 punches a round.
The reason why I still think Jake vs KSI is still going to be a good fight is because the pressure, pace and power of KSI is still significantly more than Silva's and Jake didn't like it when Silva, Tyron or even Nate came forward... he tends to panic. I also think the boxers KSI spends everyday with will eventually rub off on him... He's training with Chisora who's in camp for Fury, he's training with Rahman, MVP and more seasoned fighters with David Haye coming in and out of the gym - his technique will get better come next year.
Yeah he doesnât deal with pressure that well, but his defense and movement have gotten a bit better since woodley. The guy has a solid chin, and always throws bombs back at you when heâs under pressure. Ksi doesnât have nearly as much boxing ability as Silva either. And ksi is a lot more open to counters with his offense
Ksi will have to be careful how he pressures jake cause jake is very accurate.

Iâm not a fan of Jake, but he did very well. Compared to the Woodley fight he has improved a lot. His multi-punch combos were my personal favorite from him. However, I do not think he outboxed Anderson.
Him vs KSI is going to be good next year. Strengths from both men going into each other's weaknesses.

The preparation Jake put into this camp is unmatched, he out boxed one of the UFC retired greats! Not too many people on this earth can get in a boxing match with a 48 year old retired UFC fighter and go the distance with him like Jake did, the amount of cardio Jake has is unreal. Jake truly impressed me in this fight. For instance he showed me a growing iq with how he mixed up shots body to head, a skill he's shown since Woodley 1 but is as sharp as ever here, especially with how he constantly kept a probe out to get Silva to reach or shell up and exploited those openings. I also was impressed how late in the fight he finally started picking short counters on the inside to stifle Silva at that range, which had been troubling him all night beforehand.
Shout out to Jake's coaches for builiding the gameplan and to Paul for executing. One major area of improvement I need to see from Jake however is punch form. He was consistently landing cuffing blows to the side of Silva's head that would have been devastating had he properly landed them. As for right now, though, he's the creme de la creme of the youtube scene.

I think its a good win but It doesnât mean much to me. Silva is nearly 50 years old, and he couldnât knock him down until the last round. I need to see him fight someone whos not over the hill, someone in their prime.
