Hey all. Aaron here. At one point we were talking about the underwater portion of the IFT for TACP. I said they weren’t doing it. I was totally wrong. That’s my b and I own it, I was reading off an old version of the test. I’ll do better. - A
Quick question the airforce 21 day prep program talks about breath holding. Do we practice breath holding under water or on land? Lmao. It's probably a dumb question, but I didn't know which.
People under estimate how much a warmup run before the “big” run can help you! I quick stretch, do a quarter mile run at pace to warm up, then full stretch, and then go crush the 1.5. (I’m still training, not taking my IFT yet.) But point is it hasn’t made my times worse, it’s only improved them!
Hey gents! Appreciate all the content you put out. Could y’all maybe do another video on Cross Traniees and the process. Im a 10 year E6 and was told by the 1Z1 CFM they aren’t accepting Techs anymore. I can smoke an IFT and PJ is something I’ve been gearing to for about a year and a half now. Disappointed, but maybe some content on expectations for cross trainees could help for current active members trying to cross train.
@@OnesReady I would like to agree with the retraining video, so it's more recent. Im a 6 year staff and have so many questions about the retrain pipeline compared to brand new to the Air Force.
I've been watching all your videos and studying like a university. Answers all my questions. I'm fit on the outside, but my diet honestly sucks. Cutting soda was a big step for me 😂 "don't look at that nice cold bottle of coke"
@OnesReady Getting with a developer in Tampa, Florida. Train with them 3 times a week. Start practicing indoc grad standards. I’m torn between SR or Army SF 18E. I’m confident in my running, push ups, pull ups, sit ups, etc. but I am by no means the most efficient swimmer. Would it be too soon to talk to a developer at this point?
Good to know I’m a POS.🤦🏽♂️😂 I literally have the initial IFT test tomorrow. Going for SERE. My max push ups are 46 reps. I’ve only had 2 weeks to train for the IFT. Went from 14:30 1.5 mile to an 10:50 1.5 mile. No excuses. Just wish I would’ve played it smarter beforehand. Went to MEPS and then found out after that an IFT was required. So my recruiter told me a couple weeks ago so I’ve been rushing to get my numbers up. We’ll see! I’ll do better under the pressure but we’ll see exactly how well I do.🤦🏽♂️
Do you think they should increase the IFT minimums to the “goldilocks” fitness ranges you recommended we achieve? What’s the point of shipping out with 8 pull-ups when people will fail when their peak is at a minimum? Why not ship people out until they have reached those Goldilocks standards?
I mean, there could be a lot of different reasons. Every standard is going to have a minimum. We gave numbers that (from our experience) lead to better success. However, that’s not the end all be all. People show up with minimums and get selected- others show up in the 99th percentile just to quit.
IFT isnt even hard,i was interested in SERE so i went my recruiter sent me up I passed on my first one with 16 pullups, 76 situps, 66 pushups and 9:15 run. I didnt even train for i just do Muay thai and BJJ and it seemed to make me fit enough for it. Sadly got a permanent Disqualification cuz of Hypothyroidism womp womp i guess
@@wetbubbles1538 don’t confuse Phase II physical selection criteria with assessment and selection physical fitness requirements. We are just talking about A&S- we will get some folks on familiar with that process.
@@OnesReady so are you saying that both CROs and PJs both take the same IFT as described in this video? My goals to be a CRO but im still uncertain about what the required steps are
@@wetbubbles1538 the CROs have to complete phase 1 and 2 before A&S. There are different tests and standards but we will make sure to find someone to help understand the process better. The bottom line- Phase II and A&S are different courses with different evaluated events. - A

PSA no flip turns allowed for IFT. In case anyone who reads this was planning on wasting time learning it for the test.
Thank god i ain’t practice that shit, was about too
Thanks for this info

I'm taking my IFT this week. I haven't been in a pool in 10 years, but I've been doin breath holds.. I feel confident that I will pass. Can't wait.
Go crushing dude!!!!
Hulk smash.
It got moved to the 16th.
I did swear in though.

As someone currently in development, get your aerobic capacity up. Not just running but walking fast for miles. And the pool!

I’m in development rn and TACP actually have to do underwaters; the the only ones that don’t need to are EOD and SERE.
also my developer doesn’t allow flip turns
Awesome, thanks!

Those bois have an open invite!!! If you think this one is bad, the members only “Your IFT Sucks” is worse.
Just hit 30 and i want to join im nervous but ready to get after it and try something new. Thanks for the info!

The heat on the run must suck. But i don’t think it gets cold in south texas
Yeah it doesn’t really get that cold comparatively. But being wet still sucks at 50 degrees or a good old 45 degree creek.
You're not going to feel warm if you have a winter class, and it's 3 am. Even the instructors were rocking hoodies and jackets.
Great video. I heard that CROs have to run 3 miles, do 50 meters underwater, and do a 1500 swim. Is that true?
