My son is currently in Washington at SERE school has a degree from North Carolina STATE and celebrated his 30th birthday escaping from a chopper fuselage while submerged in water! He was born for this career with his talent from God. His reason for doing this is his love for outdoors and his desire to teach others,his mother,grandmother and aunts were teachers. He was an artillary seargent in the North Carolina Army National Guard for 8 years before deciding to be a SERE Specialist. While in SanAntonio he was an honor grad and received the cadre award.
@@jason6070 Hey Jason6070 good for you! If your currently Army I can tell you the transition from Army to Air Force will test your patience and is a long drawn out process. That's what my son experienced and I hope and pray yours will not go that way/ GOOD LUCK...and Blessings to you STAY STRONG!

If you have been in the military > 6 months post-boot/basic, you are a teacher/instructor, whether you know it or not, whether it's formalized or not. I teach trauma care, in the biz 30 years. You find that passion and you fuel it.

Thank you for making a video on the SERE Specialist pipeline! If I ever joined the Air Force, I would become a SERE Specialist in a heartbeat because I love how they are pacifists alongside the fact that they train people in AF Special Warfare and even provide refresher courses! Any insight on age requirements for those interested in SERR. or age-related culture hurdles for the selection process? How would the end game for a SERE specialist wanting to do 20y after aged 30?
Aside from smoking the IFT, have you guys heard any recommendations on how to distinguish yourself from everyone else when submitting a retraining package for SERE? Currently working on figuring oht the process but want to make sure im competitive as possible before pulling the trigger. Thanks and love the videos you guys put out!
Well it’s stuff you can’t fix at this point. Were you an amazing A1C? SrA? Did you win awards, seek leadership early, get great EPB’s? Is your packet posting in spelling, grammar, and is it in the exact order specified with all necessary items? All that goes a long way; there’s no magic words or thjngs the MFMs look for you to say. Correct, orderly, precise, and follow directions.
Of SERE? Cause, uh, the woman in the video did the physical requirements. She’s an instructor. Or do you mean you need to personally visualize someone with XX chromosomes complete an entire course to your satisfaction? Sorry, just trying to help and comment unclear.
There are different levels of sere. Thank god I am old and didn’t have any females in any of my schools. The day a female passes ARS(now only BRC) and dive, it’s over.

im from NC, currently active duty stationed at NC, and am retraining to SERE. Reading this was a breath of fresh air. Thanks for sharing man!
