- By using these videos we tried to illustrate most of the Rail Signalling principles used for Indian Railways as well as British Rails. The working Model has a capability to work in different operating modes, like PI or RRI. The British type Solid State Interlocking used in this working model is based on FPGAs and CPLDs.

signalling system in Indian Railways is controlled by the signal and Telecom Department. basic method that is used to control the signals is by using train detection equipment like Axel counters or track circuits which are used to detect the presence of a train on a particular section of a track
I like the Signal School Model Railway. It makes me think of the model railway of the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway in the UK that was used for many years to train signallers.

Hi Ankit, we used the Aluminum trackes we built the custom extrusion mold/die and fabricated our own extruded tracks. Depending on you budget you can also do the same thing or go for of the shelf tracks.

Actually, everything on this model is custom. I believe the guage we used was 45mm.

There is a minor mistake in the aspect sequence of the Home Signal.
When the starter is taken off,the Home should pick up to green for 3 aspect signalling.
However,in this simulation,the Home picks up to green only after the advance starter is given.
Of course,this is the ideal condition when adequate distance is available between the Home and the starter signals.
Where distance is deemed insufficient,such aspect control is provided.
However, in most such model simulations,such intricacies are discarded.

Tons of private and public companies and their employees are working for Railways projects. All the operating manuals and procedures are available in public domain. You just search for the patent journals and you will get all latest technologies. there are already some engineering colleges having railway signaling stream and probably IITs are also starting this as an degree course.
So, I feel you are little over concerned, feel free to approach any authorities, I am on your side
