This makes sense. When they blocked the door, they forgot about the Red materia Ramuh, and because of that oversight, that's one of the missable items in the game.
I.... just.... how have I NEVER heard of this? Let alone how have I missed this 1 video out of ALL the stuff I've watched here? I mean god, the video itself is 2+ years old at this point!

To this day ff7 is considered one of the greatest ever and it literally is held together with Hope's and dreams
That's not even a euphemism. To anyone with coding knowledge, it's a goddamn miracle that this game even runs. The code is held together with string, bubblegum, and prayer. That's why even the released version of the game still has the QC crash handler installed. They were afraid of trying to take it out, lest the game not run again and require even more time in development.
It's the holy matria and the gamestream.
Can't wait to see Esther as a full fledged character with her own tragic touching backstory. If she turns out to be Leslie's fiancee under the FF7 equivalent of witness protection, please let me know so I can say I called it.

Interesting! I always wondered where that Chocobo part in Coral Prison was connected to. I love discovering new things like this.
That's the kind of approach I want to take when making a game. Just put a dude blocking the path to places I don't want them going.
I knew the door went to the Jockey area forever now. I remember one time missing Ramuh and getting so upset and kept trying to find a way past Esther to get the summon and nothing ever working. It's the only summon that I consistently missed.
That was really neat I always wondered about that door, I always saw that odd little red arrow there. XD
Having childhood gaming mysteries blown wide open decades later is never not fascinating.

Move the guards away from the sector 7 pillar at the very beginning of the game

I actually bugged this one time a few years ago and was able to get in myself. I was disappointed I couldn’t get out afterwards 😂 I hadn’t saved in a little while.
Do you know if there is ”walkmesh” (or whats it called) in the mythril cave/mine. In the room north after du run in to the turks, it seems to be a stone staircase on the other side.
I think I had accidentally gotten Esther to not spawn one time somehow, and gotten to go through that door. This was a long time ago so I have no idea how I got her to despawn, but I was also super surprised to find out it was a real working door.
Now it's gonna be on his mind until that's worked out lmao
I got her to move to the side. You have to go at a different time, with doing something. I recall. One of the green guys gives you Chocobo seeds. and there's a chest in there sometimes those guys are in there and other times they're gone. You can go back and forth.
I too vaguely recall being about to go back into the room... Might have be on the original PlayStation version... Could be wrong (probably).

So if you missed the Ramuh materia, This was the only option of getting it back.

What tool are you using, 4-8? To move the field models and all that.
As soon as I saw that on disc 4 I thought "there's gonna be a way to subpixel through there like sector 7 & shinra mansion and skipping Corel prison.
Disc 4. I thought FF7 had 3 discs

They did that with Landstalker on the Genesis.
In Mercator castle, there is a woman blocking a room that an enemy character is occupying.
In a certain version of the game, the woman is not there, allowing the player to enter the room and encounter the woman in a bathtub.
If you use a Game Genie code to jump over the woman in the American version, the scene plays out as normal.
It's easier to place an obstruction than to remove content altogether.

As a kid, I noticed there was the red arrow there, and really wanted back in cause I missed Ramuh on my first playthrough. I wonder if you could jam Cloud in the corner, and guard skip Esther?
Now we need to know if Ramuh stays there.
@@ZYYXYZY most likely yes. If you miss Ramuh, you can’t dig it in the bones village unlike other missable materias from non revisitable locations. This means that they most likely intended the player to go back to that room at anytime until very late in the development.
It does, but you can't get back out of this room anyways

I had more than one playthrough as a kid I forgot to grab the materia from this room, Odin I think? I got to wonder if that materia would still be there with this modification, of course having to have a mod and then not being able to get out of the room anyway botches it, but I wonder if it would still be stored there.
I never realizes it was a door. I've replayed the game 8 times now.

I may have asked this before but what about the doorway in the path to the underwater reactor that has a dog blocking it? I don't remember it ever being usable at any point in the game, but it's there.
the dog will be removed if you fail the submarine mission to get the giant materia. You can then commandeer the red submarine instead. given how easy the submarine mini-game mission is though, most people will just be blocked by the dog ha.
You should make a video of that program you use to edit stuff.
So if you manage to get past the guard (tsunaskip style) the first time you come to Gold saucer it could be a way to skip Corel prison?
I had hoped this too but in the video he explains it's not possible because the game moment that triggers the scene to start the chocobo race is IN the prison. It's not like s7/wall market where it's updated by simply entering the area.

Which means it's technically not permanently missable. But since you can never get back there by normal means it still counts as one.😅

No, you never go through this door at any point in the game. Even during the race you just talk to Ester and then you switch to the race immediately without going through any doors.
Yes you can go through the door. You have to do something for the girl to move out of the way. One of the green guys gives you Chocobo seeds. And there's a chest in there. You have to do something and I forgot which disc for that girl to get out of the way.

Never. You start the race from the staff room, and once you win, you're immediately placed outside with the buggy.
What about the door in the Junon underwater path that is blocked by a dog? Can you pass through that one as well? If so, what is on the other end?
You can do that normally, that is where you get the red sub if you fail the sub mission during the huge materia quest.

Yes, you come through the elevator on the left but never go through that door to enter the race.

@@MargaritoTrevino It's a one time only room. You're here only to race one time to get out of the prison and after that you can never go back.
@@JCmeister9 that's what I mean I swear I returned to this room after that point, if you have the dune buggy and go back to the prison I'm sure you can take the elevator up into this room
@@MargaritoTrevinoIf I remember correctly, even with the buggy you can't come back to the desert prison. You can go to a different part using the buggy but not the area where you were before you fought Dyne. I could be wrong though so I will check it out later and inform you what I find.
?????? I just played through FF7 PC last week. Maybe they added it in one of the mods I had but I can just go through her and into that room and back out easily. I was also using cheat engine to freeze xp values from time to time to keep under leveled so who knows. I had a lot of values goin that weren't vanilla. Really cool toolset and manipulation of data either way.

Wasn't they concerned about not changing anything after they finally got the game to fully work. If so i makes sense that rather than alter the doors coding to not open they would just put something in front of it so i can't open.
