- Inventors of the South Tigris is the third game in the South Tigris trilogy, here you'll take a role of an inventor working to invent, build, test, and publish your ingenious devices! Ready to dive in?
Check out the Kickstarter: www.kickstarter.com/projects/...
Inventors of the South Tigris is designed by Sam Macdonald and Shem Phillips, it's illustrated by Mihajlo Dimitrievski, and published by Garphill Games, who sent us this early copy to review!
In Inventors of the South Tigris, you'll aim to invent various devices, build your invented devices and ones of others, test them all, and publish your findings as you sail across the different communities showcasing your ingenious inventions.
Your turn will comprise of dice placement, worker placement, or tent placement. Majority of the core actions will be taken through dice placement, meaning you'll need to manage your dice in a strategic way throughout. Worker placement actions will be core to your strategy as well, and the tents will drive round and game end as when every player has placed every single one of their tents, the game ends!
Question of the Day: What is your favorite complex game? What would you call the Saga that ties these games together? (eg. Runesaga for North, and Tomesaga for West)

Ooh interesting question , Sealsaga? You know like from seals of excellence ... đ looking forward to the saga as well though!
Thank you for the video guys! Amazing work! đđđ
Our pleasure! Thank you for watching :)
It is called âof the South Tigrisâ, also it is that river! Guys! XD
By the way, your explanation of the rules as your thoughts about the mechanisms were really good. The game was already an âinstabackâ, but after your vid I am quite excited about it! Thanks!!!
Thank you so much! We appreciate the kind words â€ïžâ€ïžâ€ïž Canât wait to hear your thoughts when you play
Great coverage, you both. As for the name, I'll go ahead and go with the Inspiring Saga, as these all feel very creative-themed. Cheers
Thanks so much for watching! I like your suggestion as playing each of these is definitely inspiring.
You did such a great job explaining the game in a concise manner AND also highlighting a lot of the interesting parts of the game. Thanks again for another great video!
Thank you so much Sam! Yâall spoil us with such great experiences on a continuous basis!
Thank you for the video. I got Scholars a couple months ago, and I'm loving it. Definitely one of my most complex games too. Anyway, I am very interested in Inventors too.
Ooo so happy to hear youâre loving Scholars!
Wow your overview was very nice! I backed the game and really look forward to it. I have loved the south tigris series so far! Also Ilya love your shirt đ
Thank you Tina! Appreciate the kind words!
Thanks for the great video! For question on the day: Maybe scrollsaga? Also, a question regarding player count, since you mentioned it will likely shine at 3-4 players. AI aside, are there any other pros or cons at the 2 player count maybe not mentioned in the video?
It was still great at two, thereâs a slight adjustment to the board with a âdummyâ third player that supports the gameplay. It was easy to manage and integrate. I bet itâs also shorter at two.
Board game, Magnifique đđ.
Truly! A masterpiece on the table.
Letâs play it 4 players later this month!!! đ„°đđ»
Ooooo yes please!!!!
wow it does look a touch complicated lol - the artwork looks great as always from a Garphill Games you come to expect. My favourite is Raiders of the North Sea. This game whilst looks great and usually don't mind a heavy style of game to play ... I still not sure if I will get this one. The issue is also finding players with you that don't mind having to play it a few times to really get into the flow of it etc
It does get much easier once you play a couple of times but yes definitely hear you on complexity.
