Hi guys! Thank you so much for requesting this video on our transition from 1 to 2 kids! Having two under two in a pandemic has made for a crazy year, but I'm so happy that we're now feeling more settled and like we can finally breathe a bit! I think it took a good 6 months for us to feel normal with 2 kids so if you're feeling crazy, hang in there!! Everyone is different and every experience is different, so do what you need to take care of yourself. ❤️ I hope this helps for some of you second time moms out there! Thank you for watching!

“Do whatever works for you.” Perfectly said. I agree that every family is different and needs different things. I don’t like when people give unsolicited advice. Every family isn’t the same!

I’ve been watching your channel since you were pregnant with Christian and I just wanted to say thank you so much for all the mom videos that you post and share they have been so helpful to me through my pregnancy and as my son is growing. He’s little bit younger than Christian so it’s just nice to see someone else going through some of the same things you’re going through. i’ve really been contemplating adding a second child to the family but I have been very unsure and this kind of made me think of things I didn’t think of before so thank you. Stay strong mama!

I love how you talk about priorities. It’s so true that self care & things that make you happy & fulfilled are very important when your a mom. You have a list a mile long to complete everyday & some things will get left undone. WHICH IS OK! Sometimes I have a hard time with this but I know it’s true. (Dishes are the same for me, they can wait if it’s that type of day).

Honestly I love how truthful you are about parenthood. 🙌🏼🥰 I just had my second son in 2020 and I feel like the energy with what’s going on in the world and balancing two kids is a lot of work. Speaking for myself but I feel unmotivated to self care these days but makeup is a sense of distraction for me.
I feel like maybe I should do a video on this on my channel for mamas on self care. The mom guilt always kicks in when we do that one something for ourselves.
    Anyways love your authenticity💗💗💗

Great video. Really agree with a lot of what you said! I have a 3.5 yr old and an 8 month old and totally agree that it’s been quite a challenge (and yes, harder as the little one keeps acquiring new tricks!) We also put both boys in a room together and I kind of went cold Turkey on that one, starting the day after Christmas because - yup, lock down over Christmas got me feeling like I needed my bedroom back! 👍

Im a girl mamma of two ages 1 and 4 and we only moved them into the same room 5months ago when they were 18 months and 3 years and our oldest was the lightest sleeper and was so particular with her sleeping environment i thought for sure her little sister would wake her up all night and she did the first 2 nights but she adjusted so quickly! Now when the little one wakes up and might cry really loud she will sleep right through it. And vise versa if the older one wakes up the little one sleeps right through it. They really do adjust very quickly ❤

My boys will be two years and nine months apart, and I was kind of freaking out a bit because I want them to be close and able to play together and share toys. I have a son who just turned two in September and a daughter who turned one in November and I’m 31 weeks pregnant with my second daughter due in early March, so I completely feel you! Mom guilt is so real.
I will say that I think without covid forcing us to stay home constantly i think it would have been much easier this year. Just getting out can do a lot for a mamas mental health. Not to mention the interaction our toddlers have missed out on! Since being pregnant again I have been in such a funk mentally because I’m having to be extra extra careful and basically hibernate 😂 and with just me and my husband taking care of two 14 months apart it has been something that’s for sure!
Thinking about you guys and I always love how real you keep it! 💪🏻💗

Olivia I love your content so much! I can truly relate to so much. I have been struggling with finding time to do the things that make me happy because I’m so focused on caring for my kids. Lately I find myself getting more impatient than normal and I just had a convo with my partner a few days ago about needing more time for myself to still feel like my own individual that matters and has needs! So true! When I take the time to shower and get myself dressed& put my make up on for the day (even if I’m not going anywhere) it just makes me feel better and I’m able to have a more productive day! Thank you for sharing. Feels nice to know others are going through the same thing as I am. Also I have a question about Arlo.. when you go to put him and Christian to bed at night, do you have to nurse Arlo until he falls asleep and then put him in his crib or do you just lay him in his crib, tuck him in and he falls asleep on his own? Just curious because I’m looking to transition my baby girl into her crib soon from our bed (she turned one today!!!!) and I nurse her to sleep every night.. then basically nurse her off and on all night long just like you said 😭😭 so I’m worried the transition is going to be ROUGH! One time I tried to lay her in her crib after nursing her to sleep and as soon as I went to lay her down into the crib she woke right up! Once she realized where she was she screamed bloody murder, so I just brought her back to bed with us !!!!

Everyone I know who has this 21 to 24 month age gap always says it is very difficult, but they think it'll be good for them when they are older. I was originally planning this type of gap because my brother and I were 3 years apart and we never were close, I think it was too far apart. But man, I don't know if I can mentally do the 2 year ish gap from what mama's are saying. I struggled a bit mentally with just one lol. Loved this video, thank you! You are so right, self care is so important. I relate to you do much mama!

I love the 3 years gap. Our first is 3 and we have a two months old now. The three year old perfectly understands what is going on and is always willing to help with bottle, changes and play time with his little brother. My husband and I want one more and we’ll probably do the 3 year gap again. It’s much easier that way. Also going through the same thing of having no family support or daycare. Just my husband and I working together 🥰

Thanks for this video! I have a 6 month old and I am trying to figure out the best age gap between this baby and our next. What is your workout routine? I am trying to get back in shape after having baby six months ago!

My babies are 22 months and 9 months ... so 1 year apart... now that my toddler is almost 2 I can see why it’s been hard for you guys (toddlers are a full time job lol)... and ours goes to daycare lol ... I think a 1 year difference was easy for us bc they were both still babies and now they are literally growing up together, my daughter is catching up quick lol.

I'm 36 weeks pregnant and super nervous about having another baby. I'm scared about falling behind on the things I spend time teaching our daughter, worried about her feeling neglected or jealous. She hugs my belly, she's SO excited to have a little brother. She talks about wanting him to be in "this world" and how much she just can't wait to show him everything. She helps me with the boy I was looking after [until last week] and changes his diaper with me, she hardly even needs me to help her lmao, even though she's only three.
AND OMG the first time she felt the baby have hiccups, it CLICKED that there was actually a baby in my belly. I saw her face light up like a Christmas tree, she beamed and said, "HE HAS HICCUPS LIKE ME!"
I think the jealousy will kick in, like you say, more when the baby can emote and bond back with you. But who knows. I'm trying to take the stance that it's totally normal and it's my role to help her through that. It may be really hard, so I'm nervous.

I think that every age gap has its own challenges. Also the child’s personality can determine how difficult or easy the transition may be.

My baby doesn't wake up my toddler either. Both of my boys (age 3 months and 3 years old) have their cribs in our room. It's working out great. My baby also sleeps through the loud noise of my toddler. 🥰💙💙

I had 2 under 2. My advice is get that baby sleep trained. It will give you sooooo much more time with you older child. I sleep trained my second at 3 months. Best decision i ever made

@@Motherhood-Decor my almost 2yo slept through the night by 2.5months old and was on a schedule so I'm really hoping I can get that done with this baby too 😂.

I'm due in April with baby boy #2 and my first baby is only going to be 17 months by then. I have watched this video twice now just to reassure myself that everything is going to be fine 😂

Olivia how was Arlos sleep before you moved him into his own room? Did you feel that him being in a different room would settle him? I have a 7 month old in a cot in my room who doesn’t sleep. My husband would love to move him into his own room but I’m reluctant since I’m getting up so often in the night 🤔

My kids are 24 months apart and I was NOT prepared for the challenges of my toddler. He has a ton of energy and is super destructive. If I could go back I probably would have gone for more 2 and a half to 3 years. Terrible twos are so real lol and I struggle with giving my toddler the same amount of attention as my 3 month old. I’m lucky my new born is really good and chill, I don’t know what I would do if I had a colicky baby 😩😩😩
