Cause it’s not doing remote play. It’s basically an all digital Switch Lite but requires Internet connection to play your digital games which you can just make your phone a hotspot and play anywhere

I tried this and I found that even with a larger phone I still found it too small to enjoy games where you need to read. In that sense I'm enjoying remote play on the steam deck more. I find the screen size to be perfect. If the Q provides a better screen I'm sold
Might try adjusting your PS5 settings in the accessibility menu and see if you can make the text bigger
@@nategreatgames78 Nah that doesn't work. As an example, I tried playing a game like Yakuza like a Dragon. Sure, the regular cutscenes have bigger caps but the regular npc or side quest stuff? Forget it, super tiny

May only problem with my backbone doesn’t register rapid input from the face buttons like the triangle, X, square, circle, and bumper buttons like the L1 and R2. I cannot play spider man with my backbone without returning to my console and controller.
I have to get this bad boy! When I head for Los Angeles for vacation, this will keep me entertained during the flight, it takes 7 hrs for the plane to fly from N.Y. to L.A.!

I use Remote Play a lot on my IPhone with the Backbone. So far it’s performance through Mobile data is smooth for me. I currently play The Last Of Us and Hogwarts Legacy and Borderlands 3 on it. Maybe I’ll get the Q, but I sorta doubt it. I want to buy it cuz I love anything that’s PlayStation.

thanks for pointing out how the port on there has no wiggle. i have the apple version and it broke my charge port on my iphone 13 pro. had to send it in to apple for repair thankfully under warranty. so be careful for sure.

I love this feature, I just wished the it was full screen
I saw a rumor today that the Q-Lite device is going to only have 4 hours of battery life, which is a huge fail. Wouldn't surprise me if it is basically the same battery and had the same power requirments as a dualsense controller plus having to power that screen attached to it. When I saw that presentation is said, "Yeah, I'll just stick to my Backbone. It's alot controllers that work with phones but I think Backbone is the best because of it's app. Suck you have to pay a subscription for it, but like Marc The Geek said it really makes your phone seem like a legit handheld game consoles that is extremely versatile. The thing thats even better having it on Android now that the Android PS remote play app works with it is, If you want to play Xcloud you can actually do it inside a dedicated app on Android instead of having to play it through a browser like you do on Iphones. Granted Backbone has built its own browser inside of the app so you don't have to navigate to another app, your still playing in a browser. Probably going to be replacing my battery alot faster but its worth it, with a Backbone your phone really could be the only portable game machine you would need.
If it's just doing remote play. Battery should be a lot better than that. But it might be true.

Q lite will have direct transmission meaning it'll be extremely fast like a Wii U connection
I think this is the thing people are ignoring. "bUt yOu cAn UsE tEh BaCkBoNe LUL" is just a tired argument. The Q is going to give you full controls, haptics and trigger resistance. An excellent display and a direct transmission with the PS5 for superior latency/visual quality. It's GREAT to have options. If you want to use your phone sure you can do that but there is absolutely nothing wrong with sony dropping a streaming handheld that can be used inside the home in the same capacity. The #1 thing keeping me from using this phone streaming in my home is that it's just too compromised an experience. I don't want to experience my big budget AAA games and not be able to appreciate little things like haptic feedback/triggers, and the comfort of the DS5 - nor do I want to experience the extremely shoddy IQ of the PS remote play app which is prone to glitches/pixelation and tons of IQ loss. The Q could solve that issue and I am personally all for it.
The sony edition of the backbone controller for android just came out when I got the regular version from best buy and now it's too late to exchange the controller since it's past the 15 day return window and I have the sony xperia 1 iv android phone. The carbon fiber spigen case with the wrist strap for my sony xperia 1 iv works with backbone controller and I have full access to the cameras on the back and they are not being blocked at all. The cameras on the back of my sony xperia 1 iv are perfectly aligned with the backbone controller like it's made for the sony xperia 1 iv. The only thing that is being blocked is the headphone jack but luckily the backbone controller has a headphone jack on the game controller like every game controller should have and bluetooth can still be used as an option but for 0 latency audio wired would be better and the wired headphones can be used anytime without needing to charge them compared to using bluetooth headphones even though they are convient. I just wish all game controllers have the headphone jack like the backbone controller and built in battery for charging your phone like the moga controllers. The sony phones have h.s. power control to charge the phone directly bypassing the battery from the cable from wall outlet to charge the sony phones to prevent battery degradation. The sony xperia 1 v overheating issues were even fixed by the newer qualcomm processor and have improved the cooling by 60% in the same thin form factor that looks like the sony xperia 1 iv. The tech odyssey youtube channel describes more about the sony xperia 1 v that were fixed from the sony xperia 1 iv that sony ended up fixing on there newer phone.

Unless the new Playstation Q portable allows you also to download to the device and play content in addition to streaming or remote play it's a fail in my book.
You have to have exceptional internet for it to work nicely. I tried PS remote play on Vita and Ipad on 2 seperate occasions and both times it looked terrible. 100% worth it if you have a good interenet connection. I find it odd since I'm able to stream movies and TV shows in 4K, Play online FPS games, Downloard games at a decent rate... But when it comes to remote play it just doesn't want to run smooth for me.
Try plugging an Ethernet cord into your ps5/ps4. It can help sometimes with remote play.

It's not just for remote play. I never use cloud gaming, I got mine for ps2 emulation

I have to be sincère i did not nothing about that type of devices before, it looks cool and just what i would need since i never play outside of my Home ( but i needed another Portable device from Sony ❤ ). It is more Like an accessory but i am not difficult in the sense that i dont ask more than to be able to play in my bed ahah 😉
1 - Could it work with My Samsung s10+ ?
2 - Can i still continue to earn Trophies ? ( not à huge deal bit it would be cool, even though i am by no mean à trophy hunter it is always satisfying to keep à track/diary of your Games ✊🏼 )
3 - As for now would you recommand this device or wait for the Playstation Q ? I am still playing with My Playstation 4 ( My Younger Brothers play sometimes with Ps5 but are more of Pc Gamers so i could have access to it even though i never really played/purchased any game on 5 yet .. i am great with Ps4 ❤ )

It didn’t fit my iPhone 14 Pro Max because the back cameras of the phone are to pop out so the left part of the backbone will not slide in to the phone
While the Backbone is solid for most games I found it nearly impossible to use for FPS games. The analog sticks are way to tiny and aiming with those sticks are near impossible.
Lag is also an issue when connecting with your home's PS5 from far away. But I haven't used the backbone app with it; just PS Remote Play on my Android. I'm just playing Baldur's Gate 3 from work when I have free time.
How do you get your playstation remote play to display the game play full screen? Mine isn't displaying that way
For a person who was obsessed with handhelds, i loved the the psp, ps vita and nintendo switch. I'm certainly saving up for zaddy steam deck but this is probably the ugliest "handheld" or handheld accessory i've seen in a minute lol
Not sure I understand, if this is a PS streaming device, and the new project Q is also a streaming device. What is the purpose of the new PS device announced at the Sony event?
The project q device is meant to be a companion device to your PS5 that will let your remote play your ps5 on another screen than the one that your ps5 is connected to and it’s portable enough to carry with you around the house

This device will not be cheap and already $500 deep with the PS5 + each 70 dollar game. I wonder what that conversation internally was at Sony for this to seem like a necessary thing to produce.
Sony should have made a ps5 vita mobile ps5 version with cross-platform support. Basically someone can play ps5 games from the ps5 and someone else can play cross platform ps5 games from a mobile device like an android phone locally not from cloud gaming. I wanna be able to play ps5 games on android without using cloud gaming and sony could work with google and game developers to port ps5 games to android onto the google play store. Google already works with many manufacturers just like microsoft with windows on pc but have dedicated mobile devices such as android devices and even chromebooks to support cross platform ps5 games. Basically if someone has an android phone and someone else has a chromebook or even a ps5 they can play ps5 games with each other locally by plugging in an external storage device like a hard drive or ssds and play the ps5 games from hard drive or ssds and the option to have ps5 games on a ps5 vita disc like the 1st gen psp that plays games on a disc but plays ps5 games instead. The ps5 vita could be a steam deck or nintendo switch form factor that runs android with full access to the google play store that plays ps5 from the ps5 discs and have a ps5 disc slot. It would be like the steam deck or nintendo switch that has a built in ps5 disc slot for playing physical discs. Even the older super nintendo has the supa boy portable pocket console made by hyperkin that lets you play super nintendo cartridges with a gameboy to super nintendo adapter. The supaboy portable pocket console is cool, it's like a giant super nintendo game controller that plays full fledge super nintendo games from the game cartridges. The older game consoles had some cool accessories that even the newer game consoles don't have. I still have have my gameshark for my n64 and my ps one.

@@pemuda7075 no because the ps remote play app is through WiFi then having a Bluetooth connection on top might cause lag with the gameplay...I'm talking about the controller 😂 plus it keeps the connection strong

Just like the Vita directly via the network. Just like this does. Nothing different.
I think they didn't really tell us the whole story about that because they said that the controls on that q-lite will have all the functions of the dual sense. But I haven't know that you could use a dual sense on remote play, at least on PC, over wifi and the rumble and adapative triggers still work. I think its going to stream the video over wifi but still use Bluetooth to connect to your PS5 so it can use the triggers and haptics, which is why I don't think they really made it sound like you could take this thing out of your house because you will still need to be close to your ps5 to use it.

Is it possible to make the game fit the screen with remote play?
I wanted this so bad months ago but settled for the non-PS version. I find myself playing for Xbox game pass games more than PS games so now I can't go without the ABXY buttons layout.
I hadn't realized that it required me to take my phone out of its phone case to use, or I wouldn't have gotten it. Other than that it seems fine.

It's a cool device, but it is practically useless unless you have perfect internet. And I have very good internet and it still lags when I use games pass n playstation remote play

Love this thing, on iPhone. ONLY complaint is that my hands are huge, and it gets uncomfortable after a while. 😂 Veeeeeery small controller.
Same 😂 One thing that helped me were some thumbstick grips. The ones made for the Switch work just fine on the Backbone.

I just bought the black one. I wish I knew this was coming soon. Although I wish they had a white one with Xbox buttons. I pair this up with my Phone and stream PC games at 120fps. with moonlight and sunshine. The latency is basically non existant. It makes me use my Steam deck less.

@Marc The Geek Yeah it's basically Nvidia gamestream but it works with everything. Nvidia shut down gamestream so you run moonlight on your pc and it works with amd too.

This device is actually good because you can play all mobile games ps2 emulator games and all PlayStation games it's good
You can just buy a dualsense controller and pair with your smartphone don’t see a necessity or purpose for the backbone controller

Hi Marc i just recieved my Back Bone For Android, the Playstation version but the Playstation Logo wont show up in the app for some reason .. there is no ps logo in " ways to play " ... 😔
Do i have to pay for the PsPlay app in order for the logo playstation to appear ? Even Remote Play for Playstation does not appear on the app ....
Do you have the ps apps installed already? If you don't, you need to install them and then you'll see them.
@@MarcthegeekYes i do , every app are installed , i borrowed everything and installed them all over again its been 3 hours litteraly and the obly thing Back Bone app makes available are Xbox and steam ... i bought mine on Amazon for Android and it just does not work at all , none of the applications are available on the app despite having them on my Phone " internal servor error " keeps appearing and i cant have access to ps app at all ... i am really upset because it cost à lot of money ..
If you can see the apps. You must also use the same account as on the PS5 console. Don't only thing that comes to my mind is that you purchased the Android version and now the latest PlayStation version. They look very similar. If it still doesn't work maybe just return it before the return window.
@@Marcthegeeki see the apps on my phone but not from the Back Bone Playstation app .. when i connected my phone to the device it was known as " Back Bone Playstation " even on the settings but it kept saying " internal error " and none of the Playstations app from the Google play store did appear on my back bone app .. the device i have is the exact same as yours , even on the package it is written Playstation Back bone with a remote play image on it but was nowhere to be found..
I am extremely dissapointed because i waited long to have one and it is not cheap at all .. i bought it exclusively for remote play and could not find the app on the back bone app ( only xbox and steam ) even my main menu was black and not blue like yours and none of the Ps app were there. I sincerely do not understand how it is even possible ...

Bought this device to play with my One Plus 5T but did not work properly. The USB C did not pluggin completely without any case. Be carefull about the device you are using.

Yes, either a Playstation or an Xbox. Then you use the remote play features of those consoles with your smartphone and Backbone.

i'm honestly not a fan of these controller attachments for the phone. I dont like attaching things to my phone. it is pretty inconvenient imo. that is why i'm excited to hear more about this Project Q and if it has more features they havent shared with us yet.

Yeah
Thats the problem with trying to have a controller that works with myriad Android phones, with Iphone you know exactly where the lightning port will be, but the usb on androids can vary. I think that's why they hesitated on making these things on android, but the demand has always been there.

You can have all the backbone in the world but if you have a not so good prepaid phone it doesn't matter. People that are buying the new Sony handheld streaming device, are going to anyway. Only ones that would listen are the uneducated and clueless.
