My wife is going to kill me because I've spent so much money on running shoes over the last few years, but I am morally obligated to pick up a pair of these.
As someone who enjoyed the Alphafly 2 (just fits my feet better than v1 and still had enough bounce for me 🤷♂️), I’m happy that the third iteration got your approval.
Please dont wear this shoe unless you can run sub 3 hour marathons, its embarrassing seeing people plod around in them
@@2011hwalker I’m a competitive age-grouper and my last marathon (Boston last April) wouldn’t technically fit your requirements, but age-graded it’s sub-3 by a good 15+ minutes. Would you find that embarrassing? I’m always looking for a shoe that not only allows me to maximize my potential on race day (only, other than testing) but gets me to the finish line with my muscles and joints in better condition.
@@levandmarthapolyakin-aaron2183 @TimLSim wear whatever the FUCK you want. @2011hwalker is a moron for telling you what to do with your money.
@@2011hwalkerI wear these to walk around in and as work shoes, love the cushioning and the carbon plate!
Gonna be hitting the Nike clearance outlet like a fiend after these drop 🦝
Looking for the alphafly 2s that hit the shelf? Lol
@@Clift0n Current models pop up there all the time. Great way to scoop Vaporfly at a good discount
I’m there with ya on this one!.. 😝
Stupid 🤣🤡
I love your videos and before I buy any shoe I look at you guys videos for your opinion and I want these I’m hoping they put out different colors by the spring I’m buying a pair. Happy Holidays to your whole crew.
I cannot fault my Alphafly 2’s. They are absolutely incredible. Have propelled me to multiple PB’s and much less effort and fatigue. Never owned the 1’s. Looking forward to buying the 3’s.
Also bought multiple pairs of the Alphafly 1 and can't wait for this one!!
I still have 8 unused pairs. Absolutely love them.
Hey Megan and Thomas thanks to your reviews on the AF 1 and AF 2 for the last 3 yrs , I have 13 boxes of the AF 1thanks again . Been running since 1984 and paid $62 for Nike Air Max , love my AF 1 daily running shoe for sprint triathlons and 5ks . No need for the AF3 , AF1 serves my needs , daily .
Thx for your review of the AF3, I’m absolutely excited about the shoes, agree 💯 on your opinion on the AF1, have also more than 1 pair of them 😁👍
Any idea where I can get a pair of AF1???
@@ThePoignantPoetStockX or eBay
Alpha Fly 3
Adios Pro 4
Endorphin Pro 4
Fast R Nitro Elite 2
Gonna be some good choices pretty soon.
Love the AF2’s have three pairs m, wear them for everything. Lots of PB’s, road 50k, marathons, hills, everything. I never owned the 1’s though so I have no comparison. Looking forward to buying these next month.
Really really helpful, thank you!!
Thanks Meaghan and Thomas. Like from Spain. Have a great day.
That step in outsole was a problem especially when one got tired and started to heel strike more. I like it that they changed it. The version 3 is the first Alphafly ever also because of the weight that I like. How is the sizing? I have had to go up half size in all Vaporflys.
The best alphafly yet! Thats all i need to know guys! Thanks!
So your description of comfort at every pace + the pods reminds me of what I think of the (now sadly defunct) Nike Tempo Next Percent - my all-time favorite shoe. Do you happen to have any knowledge if they will be bringing that shoe back to couple with this one as a trainer? I saw they briefly brought the men’s version back with the pink colorway but I have not seen anything else - neither women’s nor any restocking of the men’s Tempo.
We haven’t heard anything
@@Believeintherunthank you so much and thanks for all the great videos! 🎉
I love the first ones didn’t wanna get the 2nd ones but will cop these for sure
Nice Review
I think the only shoe that is as good as the Alphafly v1 is the Saucony Elite.
However, the wider fit fits me much better in the Elite.
However, the Alphafly 3 will be interesting again for me when the "Arch" is no longer there.
How do you find the Elite in comparison?
I love the aggressiveness of these shoes but I can understand if that's too much for some.
If there's a shoe to be compared to the Alphafly V1 is the Mizuno wave rebellion pro is, give those a try if you haven't done so yet.
i Love these. i have sized up and they fit absolutely perfect
Nike is back. Can’t wait to try in 2024! Tks for the update🤓👍
Hope you enjoy it!

Short question. I normally only run in low drop shoes. I hated the af2 becauae they increased the drop. This is still 8mm. ..does it feel like ot though?
Do you think the outsole of it is as durable as one of second version? Outsole of the version 3 seems pretty weak especially in the heel part.
I'm liking the way the new one is looking so far. Unfortunately I couldn't run in the last one because way to narrow and the arch pinched the life out of my foot. And plus I've seen so much how those shoes tear apart so quickly. But I did come across the Saucony endorphin elite and omg they felt way faster and better to me
Some commenters have eluded to this, but do you think those big cutouts will have an effect on durability or anything else? I mean, if it saves you weight, might as well shave off all the cush, right? (That's a somewhat rhetorical question)
Thoughts on this vs the endorphin elite?
What are Thomas/Meg gonna do with all of theirr remaining pairs of AF 1's ?
I just wanna say I love that Tracksmith white Jacket! ❤❤❤
Sounds like I need to trade in my vaporflys for these alphaflys on my next marathon 🤔
Any advice on sizing up? Half size vs full size for marathon?
found the alphafly 2 really hurts my feet especially my arches hopefully this fixes it because i can barely do a 5km in my v2s :( any help maybe like a new midsole?
Amazing! Best shoe on the market!
I currently use the Vaporfly 2 and was going to pick up the VF3 soon. What would be the reasoning someone would use the AF3 as their race day shoe over the Vaporfly?
Comfort is so much better
I’m 9.5 on VF3. Should I get the same size with AF3?
Is it better than the V1?
Thomas I also had a poorly glued insole that caused a nasty blister on my right 🦶 in the AF3. At $300 that was disappointing and not the first time I’ve had this with a Nike.
That’s a bummer. They will replace it.
So a discounted AF1 or AF3 full price?
The horse noise is still present? I love Endo Elite and only the Alpha can be better but Elite is silent and smoother. I don't think that Alpha is now more better than Elite, or perhaps is the best now?
Will definitely head B down to the Nike store to try a pair of these on.
But on a separate note, does anyone know if/when Nike will release vaporfly nxt %4
Next vaporfly will likely be early 2025

Loved the AF1 until I ran a full marathon in them and that is when the arch caused major problems. Had done 20 mile runs in them with no issue, not sure why it popped up in my full marathon, but every run in them after was a pain. Skipped the 2, now excited that they addressed the arch! Can't wait!
Going to have to get me a pair and my friend a pair before she runs here next half in feb
Would you recommend going true to size or half a size up for a person with wide feet?
I don’t have wide feet (medium, average width) but these are roomier than what I’ve tried on from Nike race models in the past. Also, the upper is much softer and more forgiving, fwiw
I never had AF1. I am running 5K mostly. AF2 is ungodly uncomfortable, i have to use k-tape in few spots. It takes me 5 minutes to get my feet prep and in. It is a very stable shoe and it is a very fast shoes, very good for street but I also like it for wide trails (some gravel). AF3 is WAY more comfortable, no doubt but it feels less bouncy, feels very flat. For me under the same environment, 5k is 25 seconds slower and it takes more effort about 5bpm higher. It almost feels like it AF3 might be better at faster pace I am running at 7-7.5 miles per hour. Just my two cents.
You said the drop is back to 4mm, but the graphics listed 40mm/32mm stack. So is it back to 4mm or still at 8mm?
Still at 8mm. Initially in their review of the 3, they said it was 4mm. Someone on Instagram pointed out that Nike is saying 8mm, so I'm guessing it was just a typo that slipped through the corrections
It’s 8mm
Will there be another AF3 video with Jarrett speaking on this shoe strictly for wide feet?
How’s the fit?
Thomas jacket is fire
Probably my first Nike shoe since November 2021
Sounds like they did fix the issues from the 2, are these true to size, or should you half a size up?
Absolutely TTS. I wear a W9 in general and sized up for my Endorphin Pro3 to 9.5 to get a little better toe space. However, I got to try the AF3 for 30 days thanks to my favorite running store and they fit me absolutely perfectly/comfortably. I have an average (medium) width foot, for reference. Plenty of room everywhere but secure and a good lockdown at the same time.
@@levandmarthapolyakin-aaron2183 Sweet! Hopefully mines fit like yours, of not I'll have to buy the reselled ones unfortunately.
Is this also okay for flat footed runners who need a little stability support?
Depends on your speed n aspiration. If u go sub 4 min/km for your V02 reps you could consider this show.
They were sold out within mins in London UK
So, getting straight to the point. Is it the best marathon shoe of all time?
Hard to dethrone AF1 and VF1
Not for me cause I don't like the 8mm drop.
Any thoughts on durability of this shoe? How many miles do you think you’ll be able to get out of it?
That’s what I’m wondering 👀
200-250. Max 300.
What’s the durability like? How many kms do you think a 90kg male would get out of them?
I’m typically one to buy last years’ model of shoes or search out deals but these are an insta-buy on release day
Regards, I really love the af1 I have to say that I was desperate looking for a running shoe that provide the confort that my foot demands, before the af1 I had a plantar fasciitis fo approximately a year, and I have to say that the af1 helped to leave that chapter of my life behind , another impressive review about af1 is the incredible confort in every step , one thing that impressed me was that a difference of other running shoes is the fact that I don’t have to change the original insoles , thing that with always happened with other brands, another attribute is cero blisters, problem solved, I’m a triathlete and in the transition from the bike to pedestrian I feel more stronger than any other shoe in all my history as triathlete I’m asking me if the alpha fly 3 overcome the alpha fly 1 ? Remember comfort is all for me , thanks Nike
Are they fits true to size or needs to go up half a size ?
TTS
Thanks a lot..
Alphafly 3 vs Vaporfly 3 which shoe is better for half marathons?
I’ve watched every review of this possible since this is the first Nike marathon shoe I’ve actually purchase and may keep (I had to return the Next% years ago bc it hurt my foot). Every review is pretty much in agreement that the VF is more suited to HM. It’s somewhat lighter and more nimble, but not as cushioned or comfortable for most people when considering a full marathon. So the consensus seems to be AF for full, VF for HM! That’s assuming they work for you and are comfortable.
1) That jacket's Alpha. 2) V1 was my arch enemy. Solved? Or am I Charlie Browning that football?
what a nice couple you are. thank you for the review
Is Alphafly 3 only for fast runners? I run slowly, but I want to run with these running shoes, too. Is this a problem?
Try them on and see if you like the sensation. We recommend running in anything that helps you enjoy the activity.
@@Believeintherunwhen these release on January 4th, do you know what Nike stores will have them? I live in so cal and while I know they won’t carry them at the Nike outlet discount stores, there’s like 2-3 other type of Nike stores (like the Nike “collective” stores. So I was wondering what type will carry them? Or is the January 4th release date only for online?
11 pairs of one racing shoe... I know it came out in July 2020 but that's crazy especially for someone that tests other super shoes.
She is always running
Over 3000 miles a year will do that
@@Lalo_Runs yeah I get it, I guess I have used my pair for 300 of my 2000 mile year, if I bought it before it was discounted and didnt also run trails I might be on my third or fourth pair.

Is there a difference between the men's and women's version ?
No
Jen Bohnson 😂
Alfafly 3 or Vaporfly 3 for half marathon race???
I think both work at that distance just depends on your preference. Do some half marathon paces at both shoes and decide which feels better
@@jp05598 thanks a lot
Wearing at Boston
Great review, what is actually the difference between men and women version? Thanks
Nothing. Universal lasts.
Hi Thomas. You said your shoe size is 10.5. May I know what's your foot length in cm? Just for reference.
50k steps in a marathon seems too high. That equates to a stride length of 0.84 meters. I suspect a better average is 1 meter, which equates to roughly 42k strides for a full marathon. Another way to think about it is by time and cadence. Assume average marathon is about 4 hours and person has cadence of 170. That’s 41k strides in a marathon. Sorry for the nerdiness 😂
Google assistant
According to RunRepeat data, global average for men is 4:32ish and women 4:48ish.
what about ADIZERO ADIOS PRO EVO 1
I know they say don’t use these unless you’re basically an elite runner but as a 255 lbs beginner, can i use these for a half ? lol
You can do whatever you want :D
Just grab them bro it will help a lot to not get injured of blisters etc plus you know what your gonna get when you buy it
I was 220ish when I started running (now around 205), and I'm definitely a plodder. Get the nicer shoes/foams, you'll enjoy them.
That is a beautiful shoe
This or Asics metaspeed og?
Thomas went and got a manicure before all of his hand closeups in this one. Jokes aside, good review, can't wait for the 4th
Thomas is "model material". He should venture into that bizz.
After i Run 8 km i got blisters in the arch at the end :(
BEST LOOKING SHOE OF 2023
This will be my recovery day shoe. 😁
Invincible is ur rec shoe buddy
I thought you just discussed the weight of this shoe in your podcast, and it was explained to Thomas that .4 oz does not equal 1 oz... not even close.
Try listening again 🤔
Seeing some reviews about issues with the arch again. I wonder who will be honest with their reviews.
Law of averages dictates that eventually a nice lady called "Jen Bohnson" is gonna watch this video and think .... "I don't remember saying that" 😂
11 pairs of Alpha1s!!😮
Did I hear One Piece... What devil fruit power would the Alphafly 3 give us?
This or evo 1
Time to start saving, everyone!
One thing Nike has that all race day shoes don’t, Zoom Air
Would be cool you two did a sidewalk review like in past vid
I dont understand why Nike discontinues shoes aftee they drop new ones...I'd buy AF1s in 10 years if they kept making them
Jen bonson 😂
11 pairs? at 200 or so a pop. Must be nice.. oh but then again.. there's that PRO RATED Deal from Nike.
Holy cow! 11 pairs?? 😂 You guys must be pretty well off 🙌🤑 do you give shoes to Africa n stuff like that after a couple of 100 miles??

its difficult to watch a review of a shoe we can't buy b/c of scalpers. Some of these shoe are on the Internet for 1,000 dollars. I would not spend this money for any shoe.
I don’t like how they look Nike can do better when I so them I prefer other brands.
Those cavities in the outsole should be illegal as they catch small rocks and it can irritate the living hxxx out of you.
Still going to go with the German engineering of adidas over this shoe
