    Intrigued by this one....since I don't really have much of a "pick up the pace" gear sounds like it would be fine at my speed. Only question would be the toe box width...I do prefer a wider fit. Sounds like this upper may stretch a bit to accommodate that....after a little break in.

    I got these early as well through my job at a local run shop. Couldn't agree more although i only have 2 runs for a total of 8 miles in them. I did think what Robbe in the first thoughts about being able to pick up the pace wasn't wrong though. I'm a bit of a smaller guy 5"4' 130 lbs so i feel the cush has a bit of an decompressing and giving me that pop. Don't get me wrong though i would not take it faster than marathon effort during a weekend long run.

      I had the zoom fly flyknit, enjoyed if for 3 full marathon and training blocks, but once the flyknit stretched my feet kept sliding inside the shoe no matter how tight I laced it, kept getting blisters under toes and black nails, tried to mitigate it with more expensive socks until I realised it was the upper. I wish New Balance wouldn't have listened to the reviewers who wanted a lighter shoe (or at least not lower the weight by lowereing the stack height) as the SC Trainer V2 was such a disappointment for me. As someone who loved V1 and didn't mind the weight since it wad an every day trainer for me it made my light weight ones feel even lighter. Additionally being taller and over 200 pounds having the extra stack height was really welcomed for long slow days. The V2 bottomed out quickly and felt for me, like a mushy marshmallow that impeded running vs helped. Hopefully V3 goes back to what made the V1 great. In the mean time looks like Skyward X or this Mizuno will fill the need!
    Thanks for the review!

      @@Believeintherun i just got back from the city where i finally got to try the neo vista in the size 13 which is limit short for me and they were too small. For what they had in stock i finally end up with a Brooks Ghost 15 of last year in size 14. But damn the Mizuno was so nice to slip into and to lace and walk with, short for a brisk run tho. Well i have so much more to try but realize the size 13 seems shorter that it used to be. I find it very obvious with Asics nowadays, used to be perfect in length but no more, and 14 is way too big, so out of luck with the brand i used to love so much. Now nothing fits except the Nimbus 13.5. The curse to be in the half size when you wear 13.5 but rare as hell.

      "Why do I want a plate for easy miles?" You don't but if it's flexible then no big deal. "Why do I want EVA for long days?" Why not? EVAs vary widely in how they feel underfoot. My Skechers GoTrail Ultras were just as protective and responsive (and a little more stable) as my Nike Invincibles. And the Neo is an EVA blend. "Why do I want Cush if I'm going to pick up the pace?" Doesn't seem to hurt Alphafly/Vaporfly/Dragonfly wearers!

    What a shame! I was really excited about this sneaker because I always adapt well to this type of upper, but when we got to the midsole you said it was soft! Nothing more unfortunate than a soft midsole, which unfortunately has become almost a standard! It immediately reminded me of the New Balance Elite V3, with a very good upper in this style, but a terribly soft midsole. Impossible to get real performance. If this sneaker is similar, it's definitely not suitable for me.

    • @josemaioral
      @josemaioral Před měsícem

      @@davidrosenthal5795 I totally disagree! Firstly because Adidas sneakers, for example, which are much firmer than most, don't look like dinosaurs at all! And they are there every day winning and breaking records in most of the medium to long distance races, showing an above normal performance. Even Nike, perhaps the only one at the same level as Adidas, its Elite athletes opt for the Alpha Fly, which despite being heavier than the Vapor Fly Next, is much firmer, thanks to the air/gas sphere. Or because the majority of elite Assics athletes have chosen to run marathons (Boston was a good example) using the Edge Paris model (firmer) and not the Sky Paris? I could continue to cite other examples, but I believe it is unnecessary.

    • @josemaioral
      @josemaioral Před měsícem

      @@davidrosenthal5795 I disagree with you! Elite and amateur athletes have achieved world and personal records all over the world in medium and long distance races, using Adidas shoes that are much firmer than most and far from being dinosaurs! Most of Nike's elite athletes, despite having a lighter and softer model (Vapor Fly Next), prefer to compete with the Alpha Fly which is heavier but firmer, due to the air/gas sphere. Elite Assics athletes (male and female) have preferred to compete (the Boston Marathon was a good example) with the Edge Paris model which is firmer and has better performance than the SKY. I could cite more examples, but I think that is enough. You may be very adapted to the comfort and performance of a softer shoe and therefore have no idea how much better you would perform with a firmer and truly responsive shoe, particularly in the fatigue phase or at the end of a longer race.
