  • Mary Poppins Returns is a movie that someone felt the need to make. It's full of sins.
    Next week: Super sins and airplane sins.
    Remember, no movie is without sin! Which movie's sins should we expose next?!

      Congratulations. You've made it nearly to the peak of Hamilton puns, just wait for it and I'm sure you'll get your shot when you get there.
      I would make another Hamilton pun one last time before I post this comment, but my name isn't Alexander Hamilton and the world is wide enough for more people to make the Hamilton puns,
      And now it truly sickens me to know that someone will be back to do so but then again others might suck at it which means that they won't know what we know.
      But in all honesty, I hope that you do burn for that pun.

      AJ Wat?

    • @erickpoorbaugh6728
      @erickpoorbaugh6728 Před 5 lety +18

      Okay, I think there's some serious misreading going on here. brainflash1 said "the writers were lazy enough to add a villain," NOT "the writers were too lazy to add a villain" (Nicholas Johnston seems to interpret the statement to mean that the writers were too lazy to add a villain). "The writers were lazy enough to add a villain" means "the writers DID add a villain and they did that because they were lazy," and is the exact opposite of "the writers were too lazy to add a villain."
      Likewise, I'm pretty sure that when CoMa M mentions "the studio and writers" adding a villain, he's talking about the new movie (even though he mentioned the original earlier in the sentence), i.e., "the original did not need a villain so the sequel shouldn't have needed a villain either, and the writers of the sequel are lazy because they added a villain to the sequel." That comment is a fair paraphrase of the OP, but AJ seems to have interpreted it as referring to the original movie even in the second half of the sentence (i.e., claiming that the studios and writers of the original were lazy because they supposedly added a villain to the original), which is why he thinks the comment makes no sense (since this isn't the place for calling the writers of the original lazy).
      TLDR: None of the posters is making nonsensical statements, it's all just a bunch of communication errors.

      This was supposed to be for Julie Andrews but she felt a cameo in the movie would take away from the lead's performance. Having Angela Landsbury be there at the end just ensures murder is afoot. The last town she lived in had a population of 700, and at least one murder every week - which she would frame another town resident with evidence, and then "solve" the murder she committed. She killed weekly and her getting away with it each time just fed her bloodlust.
