Someone drove across my park strip with a large truck so I needed to fix the RUTS and DIPS made when that happened. Here is what I did to fix the damage. Leveling will help to prevent scalp marks or scalping when mowing reel short with a reel mower and even with a traditional rotary mower. It is very important to top dress and level your lawn to have a flat smooth yard if you want to mow grass short with a reel mower. Ideally, the yard would have been perfectly level before the bermuda grass sod was laid down, but topdress topdressing is the next best thing to get rid of the uneven lawn.

It's not the most cost effective way to do a whole lawn but for small spots like I needed to do it works great.

Had this happened to me this past fall but mine was much deeper. A trucker ran over sprinkler valve boxes as well as my meter box. Luckily no leaks anywhere. Cut my grass out like sod, put new boxes in and leveled them out, threw the grass back over and watered until it reestablished. But I have like a 4in dip to work with with this summer. Should be fun!
