An amazing trick, both in the performance and also in the construction and methodology. I do love a good stage where the hidden person is extremely well hidden, and I think this was one of the best concealments I've seen rolled out on their stage. (Would have been great to see the second person slip out to show everyone how they were hidden but even still! Very well done)
I love this trick. I watched it 20 times and finally it clicked. Very well done. I will not give it away but I must say Penn helped a lot with his comments. Angela &
Amazing that she has balanced being a magician and a doctor. I feel like the only part of this act that could be improved is her dialogue. It felt a little clunky and awkward at times. But her moves were clean and her presence was strong and powerful. And best of all I don't think penn's explanation gave it away to anyone who didn't already know how it was done. Always great when he can do that :) Congrats on a great performance!
There's someone in the table. That's why Penn said she works with someone who is also suffering. They are stuffed in the table and as soon as he says the word they go to the page and rip it out and plant it somewhere for her to swap it with the original ball of paper.
You know, even though I don't think he's a plant or in on it at all, I can understand why people think so. She did seem to look right at him and lob it to him, and he looks like a Disney prince.
So if Angela is a Doctor too, do you think she just does magic for the Funovits? Seriously though, it's not that special to be a Doctor AND a Magician. Doctor Strange did it first.
Whats amazing is that she graduated medical school and she's still only 29 years old. By the time one of my good friends graduated medical school and completed his residency, he was 35 years old and it was NOT EASY. And she's a dermatologist which is even harder because many people who do graduate med school wants to go into dermatology because its a field where you don't deal with death, but there is usually a waiting list so those graduates end up doing surgery or focusing on another field of medicine while they wait.
Response starting with dismissive phrase declaring no misogyny in previous statement followed up with statements of misogyny and condescending tone of females in the workplace.
Clear and present scoffing tone in the wording of phrases that follow. Followed then by random facts about women in history who have achieved great things, completely unrelated to the magic show in the first place, and thus taking the comments to a whole new level of WTFery.
This is such a beautiful trick, Angela. Big congrats to you! I think I know why our vision looking under that table is distorted, and what happened with the dictionary in the small time frame before you took it, as well as the paper switch into the glass jar. I would make a good assistant for you! (I also do magic)
most of the audience are magician too. i can know it because of how they react and how they act while getting called.. they didnt that surprised and also they didnt trip or having coldfeet
0:44 i saw a similar effect i think in a commercial for a movie once, though i cant recall the name. but for some reason, i find the image of a woman in heels floating in the air with her legs out very beautiful. if nothing else, this woman definitely has a lot of sexy charm (the thing in her intro with the needle was a tad less pleasant however).
Angela I love magic and illusion and i just want to take a stab because I think i have an idea.... would this trick have worked just as easily if he picked "diamond".. but not so much if he had picked a word like "brick" :P
oi if you teach a person to be something its hard for someone when ther eold then they can become what they want to be when there odler so teach a kid baby how to do math sciences space stuff then they become good at it so they can become that when there 16 hahaha so by 25 they can do alot more then someone doing college for 14 years HAHAHAHA THE END ::))
"Med school and magician..." How about single? Hmmmm?😎 If she's not, she can always make her ring... DISSAPPEAR. Lol. But, seriously, that was amazing.
Her dress? I have no clue how she did if but since it's word association and her dress sparkles white with gold tints do you think by putting the random guy in a slightly awkward position (for instance making him the centre of attention in front god knows how many people) might have been enough to make him associate gold with her dress since she had his attention and it was the first thing he saw after being asked to associate something with the colour white?
I want to assume this is how these kinds of tricks work. Then it's just a gamble for the magician, hoping that the person they choose will fall into the statistical habits of everyone else. But if that's the case, what happens when they choose someone who doesn't fit the statistics? Like, if that guy said, "moose" then what?
She was subliminally giving off vibes of "Gold digger". That's why Penn mentioned the high heels. With the images associated with words, there were some obvious ones like Love, Danger, Chance (Money), Poison, combined with her unusually provocative outfit. And of course, saying digger on live tv would be slightly offensive, so Gold it is.
That would be one way to do it. That's not how it was done. Maybe there are alternate endings where a "subliminal" word is used, if I were to guess it'd be red, but no force is necessary.
Jason is that guy that shows up to a party full of young people. He thinks he is the shit and starts rubbing against the females there. ALWAYS wears dress shirts, gives pays way too much for haircuts and can carry awkward conversations for hours
I know how she did it too. It's the dress. Sparkling, just like gold does. Though there's probably more to it than just the dress. Maybe the colorscheme.
Jason is that guy that shows up to a party full of young people. He thinks he is the shit and starts rubbing against the females there. ALWAYS wears dress shirts, gives himself haircuts and can carry awkward conversations for hours
Her sparkly dress influenced him to say the right word. Even the images were printed on a glossy paper and sparkled before his eyes. So all he saw was one big sparkle. No wonder he chose the word "gold".
i am not a magician. but dont u think. she forced the word gold to be chosen ? by showing some images that would connect with gold ? like golden lips, golden dice , gold match ,gold teeth and golden apple?
Ok, I got nothing against this lady, she gave an excellent performance, but who cares if women aren't in magic? Maybe they just aren't interested. Why is it good that more women are in Magic? It doesn't matter!
I've never met a woman who wasn't a professional mentalist
Ha!
I'm only watching for the funovit
You should name your kid Fertha. Fertha Funovits . Doin it Fertha Funovits
Took me a sec but that's hilarious
I bet you are a great dad
An amazing trick, both in the performance and also in the construction and methodology. (Would have been great to see the second person slip out to show everyone how they were hidden but even still! Very well done)
She did her trick just for the funovits
TheTarTarus I literally came down to the comments section to say that :)
M3RC ninja :)
I came to the comments to make the same pun...
turns out you were seven months ahead of me
...baaahahahahahahahaaha...
funny stuff
TheTarTarus lol that was so funny
No the guy is NOT a plant. There is somebody else who "suffered with her" on that stage.
I love this trick. I watched it 20 times and finally it clicked. Very well done. I will not give it away but I must say Penn helped a lot with his comments. Angela &

Very well done. I enjoyed watching your trick.
absolutely fantastic, magical woman! ☺️
Always amazing to see you perform, even if you didn´t fool me ;)
Keep up the good work, you are an outstanding performer in the magic community.
I was totally blown away when I first saw this trick! Especially after knowing there's no pre-show work. Great job!
No pre-show required as the guy was in on it from the beginning, as hinted by Penn & Teller.
That was not what Penn & Teller hinted at. The performers aren't allowed to use planted volunteers, and the trick is possible without using one.
Nope. I was involved in this effect, NO STOOGES
The guy was NOT in on it.
There's someone in the table. That's why Penn said she works with someone who is also suffering. They are stuffed in the table and as soon as he says the word they go to the page and rip it out and plant it somewhere for her to swap it with the original ball of paper.
that was incredible.....made me your die hard fan!!!!!
I am pretty sure I know how it is done, but since I cannot see it done, it isamazing magic/illusion still.
You know, even though I don't think he's a plant or in on it at all, I can understand why people think so. She did seem to look right at him and lob it to him, and he looks like a Disney prince.
[redacted]
Derp. The first thing she asked him when he caught the ball was "What is your name, sir?" and he said, very loudly, "Jason".
beakt that flew way over my head then. thanks for bringing that to my attention.
So if Angela is a Doctor too, do you think she just does magic for the Funovits?
Seriously though, it's not that special to be a Doctor AND a Magician.
Doctor Strange did it first.
Except he was Doctor THEN a magician. She was both at once from the begining!
Doctor strange didn't come out till after she did this trick lol
aly wongster Dr. Strange debuted in 1963.
She seems smart
I mean... She is a doctor.
well Done !!
thats fucking gold
WOW.
Where is she a doctor? I wanna go there and get sick.
You just make my day LOL
joopsnoop bu
yeah go get your face fixed
joopsnoop i wanna go there and get sick LOL
Awesome trick
I feel for the one who suffers but he has you so theres that.
Angela, beauty, brains, and mystery.
I can't stand mentalism, but admittedly, this trick was pretty cool. The crumpled up ball is a refreshing addition to this trick.
Awesome
good
wowee
Indeimaus wtf maus why are you here? :D
You comment? XD
What the hell?
Definitely did not expect to see Indeimaus in the comments.
Penn & Teller: Souls-like
Whats amazing is that she graduated medical school and she's still only 29 years old. Shakester71 Asians
Medicine is her career, she just does magic for the funovits.
*Random comment about the quality of attractiveness of this female magician, as we often see in regards to male magicians*
Sarcastic reply showing agreement, and deceptive support bolstering the idea that you are being serious.
Female response about how it's not fair that she be judged as such. Random accusation of misogyny to OP.
Response starting with dismissive phrase declaring no misogyny in previous statement followed up with statements of misogyny and condescending tone of females in the workplace.
Clear and present scoffing tone in the wording of phrases that follow. Followed then by random facts about women in history who have achieved great things, completely unrelated to the magic show in the first place, and thus taking the comments to a whole new level of WTFery.
well done everybody
Guys definitely not in on it. There are two slips that the camera clearly catches. This trick has made me look at magic differently... in a good way.
The word I though of was Rectangle... I may be disabled.
How how how how how how how how how
allyson is so charming... i just wanna say that.
This is such a beautiful trick, Angela. Big congrats to you! I think I know why our vision looking under that table is distorted, and what happened with the dictionary in the small time frame before you took it, as well as the paper switch into the glass jar. Shes a doctor and a magician.... Female Dr. Strange confirmed?
Aaron McGuire omg

Nicely done ᵔᴥᵔ ★★★★★
Katalyzt
i feel like alison at 7:07
Took me a few times watching it, but figured it out. Well done! And, I love how Penn reveals it without revealing it. Again, well done!
kckarma007 nah he really did reveal it and it's very common don't want to spoil it. Props to her and whoever it is she works with.
Russ Pond Oh please, do share.
It's pretty obvious, but I can understand if you can't figure it out.
Just ask yourself why she stands so uncomfortably close to the guy when he's looking through the dictionary.
Or ask yourself why that table looks so weird.
I think I'm in love.
I've never seen a female solo magician before
Did you see how shaky those circles were on the paper? Could you imagine her with a botox needle? hehe
+Spikernaut Reviews
Bingo
Can you tell me how to remove skin tags please
I thought I was only one who is a doctor and does magic
I great to see some one like me
Doctor who does magic?? Are you Doctor Strange?!?

Not sure, i didnt watch the movie but she is the "this one time in band camp" chick.
Haemosu l yeah thats her then
its Crimmy 'this one time, at band camp, I stuck a flute in my pussy...' -Buffy the Vampire's Lesbian/witch/best friend/sidekick
#zerofucks
Also Lily from How I met your mother
Love the dress... Give Allison a new dress.. Maybe swap dresses.
suddenly i fell very sick ;)
most of the audience are magician too. i can know it because of how they react and how they act while getting called.. they didnt that surprised and also they didnt trip or having coldfeet
Why is Jonathan Ross dressed up as a Scottish person?
yum
hmmm, didn't work on me. i thought of the word "rock"
She threw the paper ball directl to him. It would be better to turn around?
What an absolute babe. Gorgeous.
the one they are talking about is the devil?
What does she bench press, girls ripped
Wait wait wait, Magician, Doctor, a funny name AND a beautiful woman???
3:29 she is *writing that word* behind him
you're beautiful
Damn she's hot.
Ohhh doctor
While looking through the dictionary is when she circled the word on the page and set up the trick.
very pretty and awesome to see a solo female magician act on Fool Us! what ethnicities are you? you look happa half white and half asian!
She's intimidating
Can you please be my doctor?......
dermatologist
What a lovely woman! Be my nurse please. :P
simply hottest magician ever
My word was, "Catastrophe." She would've failed hard!
Damn you fine! I needa doctor, doctor...to bring me back to love!!!
Angela I love magic and illusion
and i just want to take a stab because I think i have an idea.... would this trick have worked just as easily if he picked "diamond".. but not so much if he had picked a word like "brick" :P
It doesn't matter what word he picks.
oi
if you teach a person to be something its hard for someone when ther eold
then they can become what they want to be when there odler
so teach a kid baby how to do math sciences space stuff
then they become good at it
so they can become that when there 16 hahaha
so by 25 they can do alot more then someone doing college for 14 years HAHAHAHA
THE END
::))
If she picked me and did word association, I'd be like, "Legs. Sexy. Heels. Uh... legs. Skin. Lust. Legs."
"Med school and magician..." How about single? Hmmmm?😎 If she's not, she can always make her ring... DISSAPPEAR. Lol. But, seriously, that was amazing.
umm....i think im getting sick...i think need her as a doctor
Is she the doctor I call when I've had a certain issue for over 4 hours?
She probably circled the word on the guys back
Her dress? I have no clue how she did if but since it's word association and her dress sparkles white with gold tints do you think by putting the random guy in a slightly awkward position (for instance making him the centre of attention in front god knows how many people) might have been enough to make him associate gold with her dress since she had his attention and it was the first thing he saw after being asked to associate something with the colour white?
what.. the fuck did you just write...

There was no subliminal trickery.
LOL I've been called worse.
Kyle Vines, That was rude. MrAndersonmm, is not a cunt...I am a cunt.
I'm curious as to how she forced him to say gold. The word that I got was came up with was Severed.
shit. i thought "decapitate"
I got 'sausage'.
She was subliminally giving off vibes of "Gold digger". That's why Penn mentioned the high heels.

I got "tits"
She's cute! Also, a plant I assume? Not the green kind.
Ino145 RAW RAW RAW RAW RAWWW
Jason is that guy that shows up to a party full of young people. He thinks he is the shit and starts rubbing against the females there. ALWAYS wears dress shirts, gives pays way too much for haircuts and can carry awkward conversations for hours
No pre-show work? Suppose she must have torn the page out of the dictionary after the show, or maybe during the show when no one was looking.
I know how she did it too. It's the dress. Sparkling, just like gold does.
Though there's probably more to it than just the dress. Maybe the colorscheme.
she is beautiful i wanna kiss her
She would make a good wife. I need a doctor to marry so I can be a stay at home husband.
One of the VERY FEW instances on the show where Alyson is remotely funny.
she says "thank you everyone, thank you Jayson"... when did he tell her his name? he never did... they met before hand...
bm001 how did I not hear that when I watched it the first time? thanks Ubisoft!!
preshow work is against the rule on fool us. No plants which is a fun inclusion!
Nope, but you're half right.
Just like Penn saying he and Teller 'don't believe in the Supernatiral' is a lie
If she's a magician, I wonder if she could do sword swallowing too
It annoys the hell out of me every time they praise a magician just for being a female.
Anyway, awesome trick. You're great.
Jason is that guy that shows up to a party full of young people. He thinks he is the shit and starts rubbing against the females there. ALWAYS wears dress shirts, gives himself haircuts and can carry awkward conversations for hours
