- The famous Cornstalk Fence Mansion in New Orleans. Built as a private residence for Colonial Short and his wife in 1860, the fence was made to mimic the corn fields of Iowa where his wife was from and to make her feel more at home. The house is featured in books, movies, television shows and New Orleans tours.
During my College days as a Student at Xavier University of Louisiana from 1977-1980, My fiancée And I would take walking tours through the Garden District in the City of New Orleans Louisiana and would be in Awe of the Architecture of these Beautiful Historical homes such as the one you have featured in this Video. These Homes sat in the Midst of Gated lots that was beautiful landscaped Gardens in such lush Tropical vegetation and beautiful live Oak tree line Streets. I will never forget that experience. Thankyou for the video.
