What to Pack to the Hospital for LABOR? | Physician Assistant and Mom to 4 Shares.

- If you are getting ready to deliver a baby, you will probably be thinking about what to pack to go to the hospital for labor. You don't want to pack too much, but you also don't want to leave important things home either. And you certainly don't want to be packing for the hospital while you are in labor. Putting things into your bag in between contractions is definitely not ideal.

About this video. When you are in your third trimester, you definitely need to start thinking about what to pack in your hospital bag. Your hospital delivery bag should be packed around the middle of the 3rd trimester. Consider this video like a pregnancy hospital bag checklist for you to consider what to take to the hospital. Remember, when you are thinking about things to pack in the hospital bag, my suggestions are only suggestions of what worked for me. So when you are packing your maternity hospital bag, be sure to consider your special circumstances and desires.

I will say, one's grown husband can pack his own bag based on what he thinks he will need. He's a big boy. I think he knows what he needs and is comfortable with.

I'm 38+5, my bag includes
1-hospital documents,
2-disposable underwear (they don't give you those here in Spain),
3-toothbrush&paste,
4-flip-flops,
5-snacks,
6-going home outfit for me & baby,
7-I'll put my phone & charger last minute.
This will be my 2nd delivery and these are the only things I needed the first time.

I’m 38 weeks 4 days and I started packing my bag at 32 weeks ( I had a friend who had her baby super early and it got in my head) and FINALLY I just finished packing! I’ve been watching these videos every week since I found out I was pregnant! This video popped up just in time for me to be able double check that I have everything! Thank you for sharing all the useful knowledge and tips! I enjoyed watching your videos leading up to my delivery! It was so fun to pinpoint my symptoms each week as I got closer to my due date. I had my precious baby boy on 3/28/22 via natural birth. I practiced what I learned from KG hypnobirthing and it was an amazing birthing experience. I was absolutely terrified of labor and contractions. All the birthing and baby classes did not reduce my anxiety. It was not until I listened to an audiobook on hynobirthing that I gained the confidence and reassurance I needed! I wished it was more well known so more moms can be aware of this amazing approach! Also, I had several bouts of mastitis so to all the moms who plan to breastfeed, please do your research on ways to reduce the risk of mastitis. I rather go though contractions and active labor than get mastitis again!

I will be having baby #4 in a few days. Personally, I found that 80% of this stuff is COMPLETELY unnecessary. But I suppose I am a minimalistic type of person anyways. My first bag was overflowing and it was just a pain in the butt for my husband to carry everything around that I never ended up using. For me, a couple of jammy shirts and shorts, clothes for me and baby to go home in, and snacks were all I needed. Maybe your own toothbrush (if you just can't handle using a brand new generic one), and contact/glasses supplies if that applies to you. Seriously, don't overthink it. There's a lot going on while you're there and it's only for a couple of days. You'll be fine even if you bring nothing, I promise!

Delivered my baby on 27/4/23
For me pregnancy was hell and I’m still recovering from the c-section. There was so much that my body went through that it was overwhelming. I was glad when my baby girl came out so that I could finally get relief from her pressing on my bladder. It’s such a relief to have a normal bladder now.,💎

I just delivered at 38’3 on this past Friday. Unfortunately, we were a direct admit from the doctors office for failed NST. We literally only had the car seat in the car. No bag done at all. Once I was admitted and my pitocin started, hubby went home and pulled everything together while we FaceTime’d. He did great! But my advice…pack the bag asap!!!

At 35 weeks and just packing away for my 2nd child’s birth. I had preeclampsia and some other complications with my first child and I packed for my husband and myself and many snacks and drinks. Hopefully this will just be a 2 day stay. Watching this video totally reminded me about the snacks for the hubby and to make sure to get my slippers. Hospital floors may look clean… but yeah- slippers a must!

@@MulataLinda8 ..Atleast you were still able to workout.. I was told to stop..and as a runner that was hard.. so I focused on the positives and found things to do to prepare.. I didnt start getting ready until 24 weeks. I enjoyed my pregnancy by being intentional with everything I did.. I found joy in the small things such as spending weekends shopping for baby..diapers..
My husband and I decided to have date night.. every weekend.. and we wrote the big milestone weeks on the mirror in our bathroom and we would celebrate them by having outings that weekend. We just cherished the gift and I think I looked my best..sexiest I've ever felt🥰🥰.

Thanks Diana. You look very good in pink by the way. It suits your channel name too. This video really helps except that most of the things needed to be packed cannot be packed yet, like chargers, laptop, camera, phone or earphones, cosmetics and skin care products that I use daily, and even flip flops which I use daily to the bath except if I buy a new pair and pack them… If we go on a normal holiday it‘s easy to pack these on the last night but when I labor later I am afraid I will forget some 😬

I'm 37 weeks today!! We have our OB appt to check if baby is head down or not. We went last week to L&D because I felt pin like sensations around my belly and had very close contractions but it wasn't getting stronger. However, I was told last week that I am 50% effaced!! Hoping I have progressed since then 🙏🏼

I am 22+4 days pregnant with triplets. This is my 4th pregnancy and I think the first time I’m trying to get my bag ready ahead of time. This has been super helpful because I forgot a lot of stuff. It feels like I’m having all 3 of my previous pregnancies at one time 😳 The only thing I just remembered from the last time was wearing the lady depends but I’m not sure if should get them since I might be having a C-section.
