it took FightingCowboy over 7 attempts to beat pre-nerf Radahn, post-nerf took like 2
the arrows were just not it pre nerf
They buffed his damage back, his hitboxes are still smaller though.
I know this was a while ago, but riding on a horse probably made it a bit easier to avoid getting hit by him. No horse would be a lot more challenging.
I’d say it depends on your build honestly. I play as magus and maybe I’m too overleveled, but it took for me 4 tries to beat him. I honestly really would like to test him pre-nerf. Still, the fight was epic for me and I really liked the boss
Radahn has gotta be one of the most epic boss fights I've ever done, just because the lore is already cool and the fight is amazing by itself but summoning so many NPCs just felt like a different game

Connor has said that he's not against playing the game all over again, seems like he got a "bad" ending so might be another chance to try Radhan.

Jesus the difference in Damage he does is tremendous. The only Radahn i thought was Pre nerf 3 Times havent started a new Playthrough/NG+ since then. Just glad they at least kinda unnerfed him again
they nerfed him because his AI was bugged, so they fixed the AI and un-nerfed him
Long story short, he’d only target the player with his bigger attacks, for some reason, when for all of his other attacks he would swap between enemies
apparently this has something to do with the base mob AI prioritizing the player over their summons when the player locks their camera onto them
So, if you want to fight pre-nerf radahn, just don’t summon
Everything you have to do for Ranni's questline is the height of Elden Ring.
I managed to beat the game with every shardbearer felled pre patch and it means next to nothing but I'll have bragging rights I guess.
Fought Radahn for my second time after the rebalance patch and yeah, night and day. They nerfed him into the ground. I was so surprised when the arrows missed me. Their tracking before was monstrous.
I'm glad they buffed him again in a recent patch. He deserves to be one of the hardest bosses in the game.
Even after getting nerfed, he still can one shot you. People need to chill.
@@ammaranuar2544 X to doubt. The damage was corrected to still being less than the original and it is still not one-shotting. But to pretentious stick-figure characters I suppose you weren’t ever able to notice the difference.

So they fixed it and undid the nerf
Basically, if you locked onto him, he’d prioritize you with all of his harder hitting attacks instead of swapping between your summons like he would normally do

Ffs they never nerfed him. The only reason people think is cos if u fought him with the npcs, he would only attack u with his big attacks, which was a bug. They fixed this and unnerfed him.
When I fought him pre-nerf I did tons of summoning, mainly because everyone was dying about as fast as I could summon them... It was funny.
That meteor strike seems like something that should've been reserved for the final boss fight!

I did the entire fight pre nerf in my first playthrough entirely on horseback + summons and I swear it was the fucking hardest thing in the entire game. It was to the point where I think he is a dog shit boss for how bs they made him. I am the point past Rennala and before the Great Lift/Atlus, so reasonably leveled. There's really no good way to 1v1 him as he has so many 1 shot attacks so at this point so summons seemed the intended method the devs wanted players to do it.
Then came the nerf and I was already in NG+, I didn't ride on horse and fought him entirely solo on the ground, easiest shard bearer boss in the game no cap. Got nerfed way to hard. I first thought that on horse back would make this fight easier, but really to me it makes it harder. I wonder if he would have been doable 1v1 if I did it on the ground the first time around.
Fought him again with the new slight buff in NG+3, It wasn't much harder but I was over leveled at that point. I feel the only way I can concretely determine which version of him was the fairest is just starting a new character run and reach the point where I was previously when I initially fought him. Very polarizing boss in terms of balance also the entire Caelid region is a nightmare of balancing like North is just way harder for some reason and South is ok ish post Rennala. Caelid really is the Australia of Elden Ring.

There was definitely a way to dodge the arrows pre nurf because I’m pretty sure I did it unless I dismounted and rolled can’t really remember
Get off the horse for the clearly- telegraphed magic arrows and stay on it for everything else. It was designed for children yet the playerbase had yet to leave the womb.

I can proudly say I beat him before his nerf. You couldn't dodge his arrows on horseback but there was no need. They were wicked easy to dodge roll through, at least for me.
But God forbid we use the game’s mechanics. It needs to be nerfed to pander to everyone even when the entire point of the game is overcoming adversity.

As much as Miyazaki is so adamant about how he never wants an easy mode to his games nor does he wish to make his games easier for players Elden Ring has been the first of the games to have bosses actually nerfed. At least to my knowledge. Again It wasn't hard to dodge his arrows so I dunno why some people were dead set on riding Torrent. When I realized his arrows were not able to be dodged on horseback I said fuck it and went on foot.

Alternatively, they could use weapons that make it harder. Don't use bleed/frost, don't use rot/poison. Don't use summons. But people will always find a way to complain.

Jump attacks are 100% valid options, the high poise damage is balanced by the frame recovery that can get you easily punished and killed for playing greedy.
Using Torrent is 100% a valid option always. If you aren't supposed to mount up during the boss fight, they would have disabled Torrent like they do for other bosses.
If you don't enjoy watching Connor, that's fine, get out of here. We don't need that negativity.

Honestly, always good to see radahn get shit on. Everyone hyped him like the most badass ever (and in design is very cool) and then its one of the blandest boss ever. He sucked before and after the patch.

Honestly, he deserved the hype, Man was the coolest and most wholesome boss in the entire game. According to the lore he was the strongest of the demigods. His fight was literally hyped up by the in-game NPCs themselves. They held a Goddamn festival to honor him a warrior's death. I'm pretty sure if you're familiar with his lore, That man wasn't even at his full strength when he was fighting us. So just imagine his true potential. Legit one of my all-time favorite souls boss. And I know everybody has a difference of opinion but we can spend our day peacefully without shitting on any of the bosses in game, They are all unique and cool as fuck.

Esthetics isn't everything my man, you can be cool all you want but we are in a videogame and gameplay is everything and gameplay wise kinda sucks (in all of its forms).
As you say it's our opinions, for you he's one of the coolest and for me sucks and nothing can change my mind. For me godfrey is 100000 times superiors gameplay/lore/aestethics wise.

Only other characters with lore close or debatably better than Radahn's are non fight-able: Ranni the witch and Godwyn, The Golden (both basically serve as a kickstart to the game itself)
I 1st tried Godfrey , cool boss, loved getting suplexed that one time, but I got my ass whooped by release Rhadan, my weapons were the winged scythe and Halo scythe dual weilded both. was a fun. Fighting him entirely on horseback is a bit wussy tho I'm not gonna lie, I rather be on the ground 1 on 1 duking it out despite getting my ass beat for 28 minutes lmao.
