- Guitar cover of "Invincible" by TOOL with on-screen tabs - learned by ear.
Hope you enjoy the video! Please post your suggestions! :)
Here we go with my take on the studio version of this. I really invested much love in this tab to get it exactly right, note for note. Thanks to everyone who has already learned from my live video :)

Tuning: Drop D (D A D G B E)

Recording this again was actually not as easy as I thought. Memorizing when to slide and when not to is annoying as hell :D I'm very proud of the tone I got here so I added my _isolated guitar track_ in the zip-file for this one. The synced guitar tab (gp, gp5, pdf) is in the description for you to grab. I've redone this tab with much love, paying attention to every last note here. If you find some mistakes, feel more than welcome to comment. I'll add the corrections in the description where other details are already noted :)
@@behnamdabestanizade Hey, you're welcome! I'm doing it in Adobe Premiere Pro. Unfortunately, Guitar Pro does not feature a dark mode :(
Bro....smh god damn you freakn ROCK!! Absolutely Amazing!
Let me know when you’re ready to come to the US. I’ll be the first to fund it😎
Lol I got the album version down pretty easy cause I kinda listened to it over and over before the album came out and I love that part when he plays 12 and 14 towards the beginning

Max = WARRIOR
Me = STRUGGLING
Much love dude, wonderful job.
Haha thank you, bro! :)
You guys both lead the pack on these covers. And it’s so great to see you both popping up in each other’s comment section every time.
❤️ Bless this community ❤️
You're great Cameron!! Love your videos!
@@aranasaurus Am I the only one who read "Bless this community" with the same voice as "Bless this immunity"?
Gustavo Mazonave that’s how I said it in my head as I wrote it, so I hope you’re not the only one who read it that way ;)
The first time I heard 11:58 on the record I almost cried...bringing that intro riff back in during the crescendo is just magnificent
Its even more amazing when you witness it live
Yeah, it blows me away every time... And I listen to this song every single day. It just brings it all back round again, so beautifully. Feels like the end of the greatest story ever told. 🤯
When I heard it live it was borderline a religious experience 😂
@@zaydhamdan6758 agreed, I remember watching them at the O2 arena.
Just heard this song live on Halloween. Life changing.
That's the most beautiful Epiphone LP I have ever seen.
Thank you! :)
Agreed
HanoobKen haha that was my first thought when I saw it. Amazing color and finish
I agree quite mesmerizing
Looks like Spalted Maple
That tone is MAGESTIC
best tone cover for the first solo
No need to hide your face Adam Jones....you've already have absolutely killed it!!
The riff at 9:45 never fails to get me headbobbing and smiling..
I can relate. An absolute masterpiece this song!
The guitar in this song is just other-worldly. Lots of people say that for Tool as a whole, but i really can't compare this to anything else that i've listened to, not even another Tool song. I've been replaying the first third of the song for hours now, i can't get enough of this psychedelic, progressive riff.
I agree, the sound is so unique in this song :)
@@MaxNiessl It really is. Also, at 0:40, when you have the first slide at the end of the 12th bar, did you do the slide louder on purpose or was it a lucky accident ? Because i REALLY like this sudden increase in volume when you slide, only to fall back down and continue to the 13th bar. Not sure if that's what you call an accent, but i really, really like it!
I sitll remember the first time I listened through this album. It had been a long 13 year wait for new Tool. This song quickly became my favorite. When I heard the intro riff resurface in the outro at 11:58 I had tears in my eyes. Still gets me to this day.
It’s people like you that get me so excited about Tool. The community around them is dedicated and when the new record landed I came straight to CZcams for stuff like this
That's great to hear man, this community is awesome! :)
@@MaxNiessl It's been 2 months and no-one has dropped it yet. So here it is: BLESS THIS COMMUNITY
9:45 favorite part of the song
Danny in a rare 4/4 moment.
Been waiting for this from you. I appreciate a straight up play through with tabs instead of 30 minutes explaining how to play the opening riff.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed, man! :)
That honestly the best way to learn imo and way too few people do it like that.
The tutorial is just explaining how to play it.... when really you just need practice
I feel like that's when you know that you're officially an intermediate level guitarist, when you'd rather just have a play along cover in one ear and a tab open on another monitor as opposed to a full blown song tutorial. It's a much faster way of learning (at least for me) than full on lessons/tutorials.
I can't imagine the amount of work that went into scoring/tabbing this with all the changing tempos and bizarre rhythms going about. Great work dude, this is my go-to channel for Tool tabs.
Thank you! Appreciate it :)
Seconded.
I still play pieces of this everyday so I never have to relearn this monster. Thank you Max.
Awesome! You're welcome ☺️
That breakdown!! So simple, yet so badass!!
fantastic. Perfect playing, that guitar and that TONE. Gah.
Thank you! :)
Watching these play throughs with tabs is so much easier than sitting through a tutorial. Thank you.
Glad to help!
I literally can't find anyone better at doing tool covers with such efficiency. I'm really amazed!
Thank you! :)
Great job. And I really love the stuff Adam Jones came up with for the new album. Hearing it played so clearly makes it obvious what a great guitarist he is.
Thank you! I agree :)
He’s insane
Just when I was getting ready to give the album a break... This came up in my CZcams feed. 🤘🎧😁
Haha not so fast my dude! :D
7:50 The pull-thru returns! I like things that are nice, and fitting names for guitar techniques are nice. Thanks Uncle Ben!
Silky playthrough dude, you killed it.
Thanks man! \m/
Ive been analyzing some Tool songs, and Ive noticed its not just in Jambi. Adam does that triplet pull-thru a lot. But riffs like this, and Jambi, of course its more noticeable lol. I think he does it in "The Pot" if Im not mistaken. Or at least Ive heard it. (Or maybe it was another song, I forget)
@@ameersbeih6777 A little bit in Vicarious as well.
There are a few videos that cover his usual techniques, helps a lot to get the hang of then before attempting full songs) I picked them up to impress my boys at jams, but now I’m a total Toolhead and boys are acting weird, cause I’ve progressed too much for them to catch up. Even just listening to Tool levels you up, weird!
This song has been so hard for me to turn my attention to…not because I don’t like it of course, but because it was such a hard hitting emotional song. Kinda like 10,000 Days, it was almost the main “chore” of the album to sit through, like confronting mortality face to face.
This song was much much easier than I thought. Learned it before I watched this though. You hit it spot on.
You are Invincible. Thank you so much for the dedication.
Thank you, you're welcome! :)
Absolutely nailed it man. Very clean signature pull-off triplets of Adam's as well!
Thank you! :)
You inspired me to take my guitar again and learn this song!
Awesome!
That was phenomenal. That riff is so challenging to play correctly it teaches you to place your fingers in very odd positions but whatever works to fret these notes. Beautiful thank you for this masterpiece
That part at 3:55 when you split into 2 people and the lower one plays that melodic interlude... total toolgasm! One of my favorite parts of the record. And Max, you are... a... god! High priest, no less!
Thank you so much! I agree, very nice part :)
PS: My own mitosis :D
That just might be Tool's best moment of all time. I'll never forget when I first heard it.
@@KodeLiMe I can't write with you. I do like the end of Salival Pushit, when MJK sings "There's no love in fear!", and then "It will end no other way!"
@@MaxNiessl Now that I think about it, that split-screen multi-tab is a glorious thing and I need MOAR.
So could you please whip up a quick video with mutli-tabs/multi-guitars for Turn It Again by RHCP? Thx.
/s
Such an incredible song and a joy to play! Adam’s chugging is such an endurance test... at least for me lol. Very good playing bud!
Thank you! Love the song :)
You even get all the little embellishments correct that I completely missed. Thanks mate!
You're welcome, brother! Really tried to nail the tab completely here :)
I met him once..
he is a fuxking legend..
I love how the tempo keeps climbing throughout the composition!
Dude! Your tatoo explains everything :D

Where??is it
Mate, this is my favourite song, and because of you, I can now play it. Thank you, so much.
this guitar tone is incredibly hard to replicate
Feel the sting feel the time bearing down is such a brutal lyric
As a beginner guitarrist I love you
I think this is my favorite song on the album. Great job and thank you!
Forgot I was listening to a cover for a few minutes there, good job guy.
Thanks \m/
This is absolutely perfect! Video quality, production, backing track volume, your tone, the tabs, all of it... perfect. You’ve set the bar very high for others to create tutorial videos. Thank you!
Thank you! I'm always trying my best :)
Nailed every note man, awesome job
Mastered the art of the "triplet" AJ pulloff... NOICE
My favorite part of this song is at 11:01 , it has so much power in it and it all comes together.
Awesome job Max!
Dude you nailed it! Great job homie.
My man delivering 👍🏻 thanks for the awesome work
Absolutely great !!!!
Great stuff man.
This was absolutely incredible. Thank you for making this!!!
That was awesome! Your tone is spot on. Great job
Dude! Great job!!! Thank you for sharing with us!!

Excellent! Great tone! Pleasure to watch and listen.
Absolutely brilliant. Top job brother.
Well now I know what I'm doing today! Thanks dude🤘🏻
Have fun! You're welcome :)
I stumbled onto this cover. Beautiful man. More power to you. Metta.
The master has returned!!!! Yess!!!!
Best cover I’ve now seen of this amazing song!! Wicked cover man 🤘🤘
Beautifully done ✅
Amazing cover man and such a beauty of a guitar.
I actually feel way more comfortable (and it feels more natural) to play pull offs in the main riff, even if if it s not on the recording. I ll keep doing those just for myself. And thanks for the video, this was the best source on the internet to learn the song
Thank you! No one is judging you on the pull-offs, keep doing what makes you happy :)
Omg so good!
Perfect bro, such a great song
Phenomenal Cover brother.
Brilliant! Badass!
Amazing work again Max! Thank you so much for these!
Thank you! You're welcome :)
the Fibonacci Sequence tattoo is dedication!
stidd1 duuuuuuude I didn’t even see that. What a legend
I want to learn this song so bad!!
This is fantastic! I’m not really a “Tool fan” but I bought their new album as a stop gap till Opeths new album came out... and this is my favourite track by miles 👌🏻 very impressive 🙌🏻
Perfect tone! Clockwork playing!💪👍
Thank you! :)
Thank you Max! Your play along videos really made me better at these songs!!
VERY well done, and beautiful guitar!
Dang man you are so good. Really cool to see how all the sounds are made.
Very impressed with your work, man! Keep on!
Thank you :)
I WANT THAT TONE, AWESOME MAN!!!
These are some of the best videos I’ve seen! So well put together and easy to follow. Not to mention the fantastic playing. Very well done.
Absolutely amazing. Thanks for everything you do.

Fantastic!
Top-notch cover in a very professionally produced video. Thanks!
A flawless cover AND tabs? Subbed
Thanks for the great instruction. Outstanding video Max!
Great work!
Brilliant effort. Need new strings yesterday to start learning this. Thank you!
Killin' thank you
Awesome dude, thanks!
Nice work man. Keep rocking it 🎸🎸🎸
Thank you 🤘
Perfect tone
Nailed it. And the ending is much clearer now that it's the studio version. I'll admit the liver ending was pretty frustrating to follow.
Thanks!
Thank you! :)
Awesome cover!
Well done man nice job :))
Dude, you fucking NAILED it. There were times during the intro that I had to ask myself, “is he muting the audio of him playing and just edited the original track over the video to show how to play it….or is he just nailing it THAT solidly?”
Answer: you just nailed it that solidly!!
damn you nailed this one also tone and perfect notes. I'm going through all your tool videos tool always seemed so hard but you make it look so easy with lots and lots of practices!
Wish I would of had this available to me 45+ years ago when we had to learn songs on a turn table and keep picking up the arm to figure out what we just heard! I would of been a much better player now. Thank you so much for putting these together for us!
love your technique such a clean player!
dude the TONE man... !
Incredible !!! Congratulation !!! VERY GOOD PART !!!!
Thanks buddy for the tabs, great job!
You did good on everything including tone!
Thanks again, man! :)
Great cover, really digging the guitar tab graphics on your videos too.
This is God-level effort. THANK YOU DUDE! :)
You're welcome, thanks man! :)
