I was playing this all wrong until I watched you. Thank you for enabling me to be able to play the BEST TOOL SONG ever (don’t fight me I’m always right 🦅)
"the forever chug" was what i was looking for….the best riff of the year
Totally agree. Seems so simple yet it's just so fucking amazing and hypnotic. It's the part of the song that I love the most.
you probably dont give a shit but does anybody know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account?
I was dumb forgot the account password. I appreciate any tricks you can offer me.
@Finnegan Alexzander instablaster =)
The "Warrior Riff!" Great name for it Greg.
Best part.
and the forever chug lol
If anyone was curious, you play the “Jambi-like” style for 3 straight minutes during this song lol
@@MiguelRodriguez-ff9wl I'm feeling the burn ;_;
@@MiguelRodriguez-ff9wl couldn't agree more. My calluses have officially peeled off and I have also have no fingerprints on my index finger xD
16:28 - I counted, it's almost exactly 3:00 entire minutes of just this riff. So, so hypnotic and fun to play, specially with the drums and bass changing around it.
This dude has the best guitar tutorials for TOOL insane🤟
"Long in tooth and soul" is my favourite part of this video.
That outro is so frickin killer.
You make this song so approachable that I'm actually improving. You have a great teaching style!
ive been trying to figure out wha in gods name was happening in jambi and invincible and 15 seconds of this video just made that 10000x easier
you're one of the reasons I still play guitar ! thank you so much
descending is the best to play on guitar, it's amazing
True, but 7empest is better IMO
@@tp3821also true, but Right in Two is best
once u get that solo down it sure is
Dude, you are awesome..... Thanks so much for your time and effort to teach us all the rather tricky tool riffs
When I heard Invincible for the first time I was determined to learn this and u helped me throught this.i will never forget this.it took me a month to learn but I learned it and I want to thank u from my heart for teaching me this song..
THANK YOU SIR.THANK U VERY MUCH 😊😊😊
Phenomenal guitar tutoring channel man, absolutely love everything about these Fear Inoculum videos and have subscribed for more great content. Keep up the awesome work and thank you for putting so much time, energy and enthusiasm into your tutorials 🙏
Just finished the tutorial and am now sweating. Definitely one of my favorite tool songs so thank you so much for the awesome tutorial my man!!!!!!!
“I didn’t like this song at first” - me after listening to literally every new tool song.
This was such a fun tutorial. Love your teaching style, Greg!
Fantastic dissecting of the song Greg, and you cracked me up a few times. Good stuff.
I can't stop listening to this song...just love it! Great job!
Trying to follow up from Madrid (Spain). In love with the band and this song, very nice tutorial, hope I can complete this some day 🤘
Awesome man!! So informative and makes a great song seem achievable! Thanks heaps
Hell yeah! Been waiting for this!
Great channel sir! I love learning from you in my spare time.... and Thank You!
Thank you so much for doing all these videos man! I absolutely love them all 🫶
You the man. Loving these lessons.
Good teacher. awesome demo.
Thanks for these new TOOL song tutorials you do an amazing job!
man you know Tool sooooooooooooo well!!!! Always on spot
Just realized you are doing tutorials for the songs in order of the album...Culling Voices is a long way to go damnnnnnn!! But thank you for this though...It seems like there are quite a lot of subtle variations in riffs throughout the song...It's confusing and overwhelming for me..but I know it will get easier with more practice. Hopefully I'll be able to tackle this song soon. This tutorial was fun and also funny at the same time xD Thanks again!
Great lesson, i really appreciate your hard work. You Rock sir. Love the 330 you say.
Thanks A.O.C. love your stuff, you explain it so well
Awesome work! My favourite song and I absolutely LOVE the forever chug!! Gives me that Opeth (ending on some of their songs) feeling 👌🏻😃
Thanks again for making my dreams come true and teaching some of my favorite tool songs !
Amazing job! Keep up the awesome work!
Wicked job as always greg love your stuff probably not gonna learn this start to finish but definitely gonna learn a couple riffs of fthis chugfest of a song
Great video!
Awesome Tutorial.
Thank you JAYSOOS CHRICE!! YOU ARE THE BEST

You are so talented!
Thanks for this channel!!
Awesome lesson man thank u very much
It was cool watching you play this.
Thanks for this one!
Great tutorial
Thanks Greg!
This song is so good. The best one.
I am a beginner and this song was nice and easy to pick up (parts of it). Thanks for the help
you sir, are a legend....
Thanks. The intro is super fun to play 😇
My favorite part of the album is that your back to teach it
That's a beautiful guitar
Kiesel is premier. Ain't nothing to mess with!! Haha
After following you for so many years I can finally keep up with your pace....I still can't help but veer off into my own riffs. Thanks for the inspiration. Swear I've met you somewhere but hey, it's probably just because I've watched your vids a lot. LMAO....Anyway I hope you run across my album next year.
Brilliant
Another good video thx
Please upload Descending soon. I'd love to see your take on his slide and wah solos...
Thanks for including the tab.
Here we go!!!!
I am not a guitarist (just a drummer wannabe) but still enjoyed this very much and watched the jambi riff part 10 times!
Awesome thanks 😊
appreciate you, sir
I’m ready for Descending! I’ve almost got it all down except for the very ending!
this song is bad ass live
I just saw them in Indy at the beginning of Nov., Jones DEF played that little solo part you mentioned. 10:30.. thats the "shooting for the stars" solo. Makes me think of soaring thru the cosmos at light speed
the forever chug....haha! BUT this part is SOOOOO AMAZING!!!!
I was on the third day of practicing this song with this video...and got to the part you say "almost done guys! almost done!" and i lmao
You inspired me to check on the way to work one day. I'm pretty sure it's 76 x on that Jambi riff and that's just before the timing even changes
Adam played a variation of the riff @ 10:27 in some of the live shows they did in Europe. The Prague show is an example I believe.
Yes! They, TOOL have always played little snippets of their riffs and pieces of music sometimes, years before they were recorded in studio.. makes me think MJKs older group C.A.D. (Children Of Anacronistic Dynasty?) before Tool he sang the earlier version of 'Sober' well before TOOL.
Excellent lesson. Every tool song you’ve done has helped me in learning tremendously.
mate thank you sooooooooooooooo much
My man !
New Album is getting better by the day. Great!
Love the shirt. BTBAM!!
When the chugging part of the song lasts just as long as most songs 😂
Love your guitar, i live in Escondido Ca. I’ll check out the kiesel shop/factory here.
Solid.
Yes!!
Descending next!
Your Maynard impersonation is identical to your Mikael Akerfeldt impersonation lol. Just kidding, these Fear Inoculum tutorials are so much fun!
Yesssss!!!!!
I love your videos. Invincible is my fav. youre not playing the jambi riff quite right . He plucks like you are but then hits the next string down same fret pulls right through them both. your finger lands on the next string down and pulls through that note as well in a triplet fashion. Its kinda hard to do at first. I saw some dude point this out that many people miss this and hes right. Otherwise i learn a lot from your videos
Aaaahh San Q Axe Man
man the only thing i initially loved about this song was the middle part with the e string for minutes while danny does his thang but adam just keeps playing it
Nice lesson. Jones Jr.
Stumbled upon your video watching Tool vids and gotta say, as a non-guitar player I found this extremely interesting. I watched half of the video, then came back and watched the rest. Great content, looking forward to more videos. Have you seen Ernesto's acoustic take on Invincible- pretty badass.
Damn this song is genius
Appreciate this man's effort too, for teaching such a masterpiece.
omg thank you. too hard to play by ear. oh and pneuma too so double thanks
Love your stuff man, really helps me figure out the parts that I can't quite hear. Do you think it's easier to count out in 7's rather than 4 and 3 or 3 and 4? Adam did a podcast recently and he briefly touched on how important 7's were to the album. I know it's a matter of personal preference but would love your input. Cheers man!
obv im not who you were asking but just thought id share my opinion , as you said it does all come down to preference but I personally find it easier to count 4 then 3, and i think thats especially easier for someone whos used to counting in four already, even though I get the same result counting 3 first then 4 or counting straight to seven it still just doesnt feel right in my head to either count that short at first, or count that long at once.
your guitar is beautiful
AWESOME THANK YOU 🤘
Ce mec est génial !!! In french 😉
Nice shirt
There is a little bit of martin gore guitar essence in the (pull off parts of this song) 😎
D and A strings should be palm-muted for pretty much the entire song! Even your tab shows that. Why don't you play it that way?
EDIT: Ok, I got to the half of the video. He starts mentioning palm-muting and transforming between clean riffs in the intro into heavy distortion in the outro. So, no worries, it's all introduced and explained once one gets a good grasp of the harmony and picking
It doesn't sound like the notes are being pulled off at all on the studio version.
@@akira_kei_ Pretty sure he doesn't here (talking about the intro)
Even watching it live looks like he picks every note
czcams.com/video/YoTWlniII_I/video.htmlsi=95mG5nKUBlT__son , minute 9:38. To me it does not seem like he is picking the notes.
Why doesn't it sound like Adam is doing pulloffs in the actual recording? I can definitely hear him picking all the notes there
When you have the gain, tone, and distortion dialed in just right it gives the pulloffs a nice crunchy texture that makes them sound like they're being picked. It's the same way in Jambi.
Agree. @carl, I think he's talking about the intro riff, not the jambi-esque jam (forever chug). I don't hear the pulloff at all.
He does pick all the notes, there's live footage of him doing so.
@@crackmonkey2181 if you don't pick all the notes, you die at the end of the song
@@ryanlord6286 LOL, then there'll be some DEAD footage of the song. Hehe...
