@@LookSimplyDifferent I did, and liked both (although I haven’t seen the current Part 2 yet). But that’s different, because the source for both is the DUNE series of books by Frank Herbert. If more than one filmmaker wants to make a movie of a book, that’s fine with me. In fact, I’d love to see my 5 favorite directors do film versions of the same book, because you’d get 5 radically different interpretations. But ES was always and only a film project-Tim Burton’s unique “intellectual property”. Remaking it is like rewriting Frank Herbert’s books: WHY?

I don't understand, did Johnny and Winona not perfect this movie the first time!? This is a CLASSIC!!! There is absolutely NO reason why they need to remake this film with younger actors while the original is easily accessible on streaming platforms. The original movie does not need to be remade, it was perfect and there is nothing new that needs to be added to it. One of the most memorable scenes in cinema to me is Winona Ryder walking outside and Edward is making it snow and she looks so happy and like spins in it. I loved that scene I thought it was beautiful. Doesn’t need a remake or reboot.

I was originally on the bandwagon with yall not wanting this remade. But we have to remember when our parents would complain about the movies we love being remade and how much they didnt like it. Flubber is a great example for me. My father absolutely hated the Robin Williams version and i honestly couldn't understand why. In my young mind only a psychopath could hate Robin Williams. He never told me flubber was already made. The flubber my father grew up with was from a movie called "The absent minded professor" and it was really good. I tried to watch it but it was so outdated i just couldn't get into it. Todays youth need a new version to call theirs. We wont like it but thats just us getting older.
