I danced to this song with my dad at my wedding and then sang it to him as he made his way to heaven years later. I would give anything to dance with him one more time. He gave me my love of music and Van Morrison was one of his favorite musicians.
Over the entire catalog of his music, no one can touch your soul or capture your mood as well or as deeply as Van Morrison.
Very true
So well put
Perfectly stated.
Van Morrison is incredible, everything he does sends you right where he's trying to send you
Van the Man, true artist, never played the hype game, never gave an inch to the machine.
Van Morrison is so classic. Can’t really classify him. Thx for sharing another song by him.
Van the Man! Legend!
Thank you for getting off the beaten path of hits. This is just as great as any Van hit.
This was on the wonderful "Avalon Sunset" album released in 1989. Of all the songs on the album, "Have I Told You Lately" is probably the most well-known and was played at a lot of weddings. Rod Steward even did a cover of that tune.
I recall when the LP was released. The music critic for the Toronto Star wrote Van's song was lounge music. Only an opinion, I enjoyed Avalon Sunset. My two favourite cuts When Will I Ever Learn to Live in God and Daring Night.
One of my favorite songs ever… it makes me feel so peaceful. I would play it for my baby when he was fussy and restless and he would just calm right down. The whole album this is from is wonderful.
One of my favourites by VM ❤️ you possibly may have heard this song as it was played at the end of the film Nine Months starring Hugh Grant and Robin Williams
Love that movie and this song
that's where I first heard it and I had a newborn at about the same time. Stayed with me ever since
@Asia and BJ , 1964 Van Morrison was in a group called "THEM" . Give "THEM" a listen , Here Comes the Night and Gloria
Featured in the fun movie 🍿🎥
9 Months
Beautiful music from a beautiful soul ❤️🥰🎶🎵
He has another one with a similar title called "There'll Be Days Like This" which is even better.
Van Morrisons voice is always so smooth. 🔥
Van is the best. Check out "Have I Told You Lately," "Days Like This," "I Forgot That Love Existed," "Full Force Gale" and on and on and on and on and on ....
“Someone Like You” is a great love song.
One of the most beautiful love songs I've ever heard was his song, Someone Like You.
- - - Mandolin - - -
I was thinking mandolin, but wasn't sure.
Van "The Man" Morrison is much more than a talented musician/songwriter, he is a mystic, his poetry rings with fundamental truths. A vote for the 70's as the best, but only because it was my late teens/early 20's, was married in 1975 and am still married to my soulmate. Van was always on our turntable/cassette/cd and now streaming. His is a deep rabbit hole.
Asia & BJ, you’ll love his “Wild Night”, “Domino” and “Wavelength”!!!
Great tunes!
@@joelliebler5690 thank you!
Tooo old . Move on out of kindergarten class 80s---90s
@@peacewillow35 I guess either you do not like music or may need a hearing aid because music from the mid 2960’s into the 2990’s is the real deal when they allowed space for the instruments to breathe not just filled with ridiculous over worded vocals!
I love this song- amen to these words
Great lyrics with Van’s masterful delivery!
One of my favorite Van songs! It is so beautiful.
Love Van Morrison. Used this song in 1995 as my siblings & I gathered together to visit my daddy who was terminal with brain cancer. SOULful song with so much AloHA: “HA,” the Breath of Life, Breath of GoOD…HIS Divine Love. GoOD’s Blessings upon Van…& all who are touched by this song somehow, some way, some where. Me Ke AloHA Poina Ole😘🌺🙏🏽🌈🦋
"So Quiet in Here" (BBC)1990 Enlightenment album "Hymns to the Silence", "Healing Game" "St Dominic's Preview" 1972, .. etc
A MUST HEAR Classic From BEFORE Van (The Man) Morrison Would Start His Solo Career...
TRUST ME On This One,,
Them "Here Comes The Night"
the 80's were the best...freedom was more abundant, not as much war, no draft, still, great music, great people, have great moments.
I am pretty sure that sound is a Mandolin..beautiful music.
Love this song! If you haven’t done “Have I Told You Lately” , that’s my favorite and I think his best. ❤️
Never heard that one. It was good.
Give a Listen to ”Sense of Wonder”, “Daring Night” “The Healing Game”, “When the Leaves Fall Down”.. Not radio hits but great Songs
Van (The Man) Morrison "Domino"...Nuff Said.
It's alright, you can say it -
he's talking about God, and his love.
And our love -
This song was used for a video montage when the Boston Garden closed on 1995. The video was Boston Bruins highlights of their years playing on the old Garden. It was a powerful video.
So good, Van Morrison
There are no Words to describe how great he is
Can't go wrong with any song by Van the man.
It's a mandolin or perhaps a dulcimer
One of the most beautiful ballads ever recorded 🎉
My wedding song. Love Van the Man!
the 70's everything was groovy
Much love for VM ❤👵
You should keep this song in a memory hole and when you've reached the golden yrs., whip it out and press play...Then take that time to reflect, because it's inevitable. Some songs are built for that moment.
My favorite Irish singer
You cannot have kids and listen to this without absolutely falling apart every time.
Van is the man!
Love Van
I think it sounds like a mandolin, not sure about that though.
My mother's favorite song
60’s 79’s ❤❤😮👵
❤❤❤❤❤❤
This was from his born again phase. If you want to change it up, try Ordinary People from the Philosopher’s Stone album, or Big Time Operators from the Too Long in Exile album.
Van can do any genre….
It's a mandolin - beautiful
Guys check out BB King & Van Morrison If you love me . an awsome song
This is on the nine months soundtrack
It's a song about his love for God.
So many Great Songs in the Van Morrison Catalog - Give a listen to “Just Like Greta Garbo”
from the same album 'Avalon Sunset' Van Morrison - Daring Night 🌃 czcams.com/video/_xIS43NFN7s/video.html
I hope someone told this fella Van Morrison is not Jim Morrison from the doors.
70's soul no one can touch it...
Check out 'Baby Please Don't Go'. from way back.
❤
Love it
I think 90s is best decade
It's a new one for me, guess you have to be in love to get the feeling, I'm a widower still sad to listen . It a nice one.
Thank you ❤️ I appreciate. Sorry for the phrasing I am a francophone trying very hard, thank you again.
mandolin
Seventies blow the eighties out of the water with more true musician with natural drums.
