- Finally got my new truck! It’s a 2022 Ram 3500 mega cab dually Laramie 4x4 with the H.O. Cummins, 4:10 gears and the Aisin transmission. I ordered it from Montgomery CDJR in Nicholasville, Ky. I ordered it on 8/24/22 and it arrived at the dealership on 11/18/22.

Thanks for the video. Just ordered one but its hard to find videos of dully megacab.
I was glad to make it! I couldn’t find much before I ordered this one is one reason I wanted to make it too. Congratulations on your order! Did you get the mega dually too?
Take it back and have the front bumper aligned. It's hanging low on the driver's side. Still, awesome truck. I have a 2018 laramie 3500 megacab swd. Thinking bout dually like yours. Maybe next year. 👍🤙🤘🏻
Thanks! I rewatched the video and it kind of looks lower on the drivers side but I went out and measured and there is exactly 15/16” gap on each side below the trim piece under the headlight. Thanks for looking out! I should have gotten a 2018. I miss the manual transmission! Lol! The dually is the way to go if you plan on towing. The 2023 models should have some cool new features too! 😎
Nice truck..
Thanks!
You sold the powa wagin 😭😭😭 you won’t be forgiven
I know! I’m sorry!!! 😢😢😢
Damn man. Should've kept the power wagon. But then again that dually is nice.
I know! I was torn but couldn’t justify both! Lol. Thanks!
@@MountainMindset i feel ya brother. Enjoy you new rig. Looks great.
@@marksman4004 thanks buddy. I appreciate it.
Heard nightmares about the 22’s.
How is yours holding up …?
I’ve already replaced it with a 24 model if that tells you anything. Lol. It did ok but had a few little issues so I got rid of it. I only have a little over 2K miles on my new one so far but the quality seems better on the new one. 🤷
@@MountainMindset thanks. I’m crossing my finger on my 23
@@wallyyuriy8912 you should be fine. 👍🏻
I was days away from buying another Laramie 2500 then they pulled all 2500 and 3500 off the market over faulty transmission dipstick.
I seen that recall. Is it just the 68RFE transmission that is being recalled? I got the Aisin transmission in this truck. Hopefully it’s not affected too. Maybe you can find one with the Aisin soon. Good luck with your search and thanks for watching!
@@MountainMindset You’re right. Kinda sucks because trucks have been hard to get the past couple of years. Inventory was building up then gets yanked. Yikes! Is Aisin better?
@@18Bees Tell me about it. I searched for a while before I decided to order instead. I believe the Aisin is better for towing closer to max capacity and the 68RFE is better for drivability. That’s what I’ve heard anyways. I guess there’s trade offs with either transmission but I don’t think you’d be unhappy with either. Hopefully this recall is taken care of promptly and get some trucks back on the road!
@@MountainMindset Your Aisin is not affected. It's not a dipstick problem but the 68rfe building to much pressure and blowing fluid out the dipstick starting fires. 7 trucks are parked at my dealership.
@@tumbleweedking5668 thanks. I didn’t think the Aisin was affected but wasn’t sure. I appreciate it. Does Ram have a fix for the 68RFE yet?
Did you have to get commercial registration and insurance
No. Not for a one ton unless you are using it commercially I believe. The 4500’s and 5500’s from ram require commercial insurance though.
I think you got 3500, HO 6.7L and 6 speed tranny. What do you mean 14 speeds?
Lol! I said 4:10 gears in it not 14 speeds!
@@MountainMindset oh, I see now.
@@tonymai1844 I think my country accent is a little thick sometimes! 🤣
4.10 gears Tex
Whats your payload sticker say? Im looking at ordering one
My door sticker says 5399 LB. For some reason I can’t look it up by vin on rams website.
@@MountainMindset awesome. Thanks for the quick reply. Do you tow a 5th wheel? Im buying the truck now then the rv in early 2025. I want to make sure i dont regret a mega cab. Would probably use a slider hitch or a gen y goosepuck.
@@DavidSmith-wd4wg anytime! I do tow a fifth wheel but I haven’t towed it with this truck yet. I have towed it with a CCSB before so I’d say there isn’t gonna be much difference between the two’s clearances. It is a mid size fifth wheel though so the clearances are probably better than on a bigger fifth wheel. It’s an open range light and the front coupler is made like a gooseneck so there’s more clearance there. I have an Andersen hitch for it too that I like as well. It may help some with cab to cap clearance too.
@@MountainMindset good info. Thank you. Pretty much set on mega now. Only downfall is the 50 gallon tank not available on the mega but you cant get everything!
@@DavidSmith-wd4wg I wish the 50 gallon tank was available on the mega cab. That would be nice! If you will have people in the backseat, the mega cab is great! If not, the bed space of the long bed is nice too! Do you plan on adding a fuel tank in the bed? I will be soon but you have to make sure it doesn’t hit the wheel wells in the bed. I’m sure you’d be happy with either cab/bed configuration you end up with!
14 gear ?
4:10 gear
I have a 2022 mega cab dually with aisin transmission for sale if anyone is interested!
🤣🤣🤣
6 dollar a gallon 4 diesel no thanks
$5.00 to $5.10 a gallon around here right now. Crazy. Gotta pay to play I guess! Lol!
85 k for a regular cab and chassis. 🤦🏻♂️. Wow.
Who?
The 4500 in the video. It was a crew cab. ( my mistake). 85000 for a cab and chassis is insane
It’s hard to believe how much these prices have went up over the years.
Where is it assembled mexico?
Yea.
@@MountainMindset 🥴I thought higher trim levels assessabled in usa at least
@@user-lr3di2gp7o I don’t believe so. As far as I know they are all assembled in Mexico. I could be wrong though.
