I finally found a welding gas supply shop that agreed to fill it after I went to a hydraulic supply place and pieced an adapter together so the welding supply shop could hook it up. Finally I had a spare argon tank that I exchanged for a nitrogen tank and used the adapter myself at home. So far so good. Lol. It’s not easy for sure!

I ordered the Rut Brush Eliminator for my kx057-5. I think flails are best on grasses and not ideal for the kind of mulching you're demonstrating even though they can do it. The Rut doesn't require a case drain for this model. Nice looking property!

I spoke with Rut before I bought this Chinese mower and they were super nice but had something like a 6 week lead time when I was looking at buying years ago. I bought this mower just to try out for the price. I agree I’m a little rough on it but I’m really trying to see how it holds up and if it breaks, I’ll probably end up with a Rut. Lol. Thanks! Where you at? I'm thinking Western Kentucky or West Virginia. Just north of me. Same Appalachian folk judging by the accent and scenery. CZcams algorithm has us pretty well dialed in - LOL. I'm in North Carolina. I would have used my tractor and a box blade on that job.

Nice job. I have a KX-57. How do you clean your machine to prevent moving that nasty kudzu to another property? I clean my tracks with a spade and a broom and blow it all within an inch of its life with a backpack blower. Some guys just down the road here cleared 6 acres a few years ago and now it is wall to wall kudzu. No other Kudzu around, so they totally brought it in. If that property was pretty it would bring 500k. Very desirable location. They can't sell it to save their lives. I could see getting sued over that.
I wanted the 57 but could never find one at the time. I never really thought about spreading it. I just pulled the loose vines off of the machine and went on my merry way. Lol. I’m definitely gonna be checking now! I don’t want that stuff brought home with me! Good call!

@@MAXhomesteader I’m not sure of the brand. I got them used. Some are pretty universal I believe. I called a guy locally who installs them and he cut me the new legs for them so they would be taller. He already knew what I needed when I told him what I was doing. I would recommend someone to help and to start as level and as square as you can. Did you have any sign before the failure? Like a noisy bearing at all? I have a 2017 general as well, with around 6500 miles on it and am having wicked noise from the transmission. Put new fluid in it about 50-60 miles ago and just drained it out the other day and there was an excessive amount of metal on the plug. Hoping to catch it before it blows out the side like yours did. But awesome fix by the way great video.
@@seaneyo2006 my nephew was riding it when it failed and he said there was no sign before it went. I believe it was a few months before that we changed the transmission oil and there was no excessive metal on the plug or in the oil in my opinion so we never thought anything about it at that time. I don’t know if more frequent oil changes would have helped or if the bearings were more vulnerable to wear but it could have been a little lack of maintenance when it came to the oil changes here. Lol. If you have noticed excessive metal in the transmission and you can rule out the clutches as being the cause of the noise, I’d say you may be headed down the same path as we were. I remember seeing this before you started working on it. There was nothing there but trees and a very small piece of land. You paid very little for it.
