I’ve been listening to you on some Podcasts and love your insight. I’m back on RU after the beta to find my main, and I’m currently enjoying Blaster quite a bit. It seems a bit predictable or one dimensional, at a basic level - do you feel there’s some complexity at the higher levels of play and intricacy to the class?
The class is predictable but you can make yourself as a player be unpredictable. The whole thing about Blaster is that while its mechanically simple, if you can aim your skills on where enemies will be then that's how you become a great player (I'm still working on not being an ape and just wasting them lol).
The enemy can see where you're facing when you airstrike, but not where it'll land. You can FoV to get surprise airstrikes, or just make hard reads with Howitzer and Airstrike. Map control is huge and proper use of Energy Field and Missile Bombing are really important. Not to mention Space/CD management for when to Gatling.
The class is super simple and super flowcharty, but if you can learn how to break the mold and play predictively rather than reactively, there's a very high skill ceiling.

Blaster is really a very strong class but the combo is too dependent on the stun and the machine gun, every blaster that plays at high level works more like a defensive class trying to zone with its bombs than a class focused on dps.. Do they in March with updates and balances bring different builds? Do you think that letting go of the combo and playing differently Blaster is still a viable class at high ranks?
You can let go "of the combo" if you mean doing it with Howitzer. A lot of competitive builds run Plasma Cloud instead - but the core Airstrike/Missile Bombing Combo off of Gatling and Stun is always there.
Even alternate meme builds that have been going around in KR (non-crit/nuke Airstrike, using Missile Barrage for dmg instead) are still dependent on stun into knockup combo.
Maybe the March rebalance pods will bring in alternate playstyles, but Blaster's kinda locked to the stun and combo gameplan as of now.
Dont know what's happening just alot of special effects. But im definitely going t9 play this game :)
Hey Lin-0 Ive been watching a lot of your lost ark content because Im really into PVP games. I'm from South Africa so when the western release comes out next month i will be playing on roughly 180ms. Can you please recommend some of the better classes for higher ping PVP. I would greatly appreciate it
Yeah sure! Blaster (Artillerist), Bard, Sorceress, Summoner (when she comes out), Destroyer (when he comes out) are probably the best for high ping play. You can also do ok on Blade, but ranged classes have a bit of an easier time at high ping.

Bard Blaster is a god tier comp, usually its what you need for Blaster to do well
Paladin is incredibly popular in tournament and is in fact what some of the top teams of this tournament were running (we fought them too in this video) - it's super solid as a class
Loved the video, in the match at 17:28 why did you guys lose? i dont know the rules when the kills are tied, but you guys did more damage
That's because score isn't based on damage only - double kills and triple kills give bonus points, but above all assists count for half a kill in score.
You get assists by contributing damage to a target a short while before they die. Since our comp is pretty bursty (not very multihit-based, we each just burst hard and fast), we were well behind on assists, as our burst is mostly solo. You'll note they had 9 assists, whereas we had 6.
So even if you are far ahead on damage done and have lower damage taken, harasser comps can rack up more score than burst comps.
You see this happen again on our third match vs RoflanEbalo. It is frustrating that the losses that knocked us out of the tournament were to score, but this changes in the future (there's a match extension + tiebreaker period instead of score).

May I ask what are your thoughts on hawkeye/sharpshooter and devil hunter/deadeye in pvp? I have never played the game before and thinking about starting one of them next month. Even thinking about blaster now after watching this video lol.
Hawkeye/Sharpshooter is a solid class to begin with, performs well but is gimmicky - which means it falls off a bit at higher rank (similar to Blaster/Artillerist). Plays a backline enabler role. Everyone calls it the rat class and you're practically a fruit fly with how annoying it is for people to get you - overall very fun to play.
Devil Hunter/Deadeye is a solid/strong class at all levels of play with a hybrid melee/ranged playstyle. It is VERY technical and VERY mechanical, making it incredibly hard to pick up, but its also untouchable in the right hands and has some of the highest combo damage in the game. Also super fun.

@@sulemanmalik8228 I'm biased to Blaster since it was one of my mains at one point, and its a class I can play at a decent level. For a beginner player I think it's easier to play, but Hawkeye's aesthetic and theme is so amazing that I honestly wouldn't mind maining it either.
I just clicked with the explosions more, but it really comes down to what you like most.

In RU I'm PvP only player, but in EU I'll be PvEing as well.

Not meta, however the latest russian tournament actually swapped to Destro/Hawkeye/Arcana for their final match and they won with that comp. If you build around the class it's passable but definitely much harder.
I would still just play the class you like though. There's a big KR tournament in Feb/March and lots of changes will come off the back of that. HE may become really strong after as it is unlikely to see much representation.
Don't pick classes for their strength, as it will change in the long-term.

I always pick niche classes to make the meta look not so meta anymore 😂 I'll start for sure with hawkeye at the 8th feb but the striker will follow as soon as I hit lvl 50

Blaster easier to get to gold, but Demonic a better class overall/easier to climb at higher ranks.

The easiest to perform with is probably Summoner, but that doesn't make it easy to master. The best overall would be Lance Master or Bard/Paladin imo.
Long ranged classes like Blaster and Summoner are definitely the easiest, sure it requires some aim but you can pretty much turtle behind your team and throw out your huge AoE's. Sure sometimes you get screwed by getting an all ranged team or something, but in most cases you'll probably have an easier time than a lot of melee classes. At least as a new player. Sorceress will probably be the hands down easiest when it comes as well, having high aoe, high range, and good kiteability.
@@doomdude3034 It's not really about ranged - Sorceress is actually quite difficult to perform with since she has limited self peel.
Scouter is a god-tier class and is also ranged, but it is very hard to pick up and play effectively. Same with DH/GS for example.
It's just that Blaster/Summoner in particular are pretty flowcharty. I'd say Blade or Destroyer are much easier to play than DH, even though they're melee. Defensive classes tend to be easier to pick up, but ranged/melee isn't much of a distinction when it comes to difficulty imo.

How's this class for 1v1s? Can it beat skilled players?
It's pretty solid, though 50/50. If you land gatling you win, if you don't you lose.
I was thinking artillerist as main but it kinda looks so clunky ,weird and easily outplayed or am i aimgining this? Having tough time deciding artillerist,soulfist or deathblade.
It’s a fun class and I’ve watched a lot of better people play this class. He’s missing a ton of abilities but it’s still fun to watch
Very strong for beginners, suffers at higher levels due to predictability but still competitive pick with the correct comp. It's not a bad class, but it is clunky yeah

Hi Lin-0 I heard you are gonna main Sorc in NA/EU, could you maybe post some 1v1 strategies? I really have Problems against Gunslinger, Reaper and Striker as a Sorceress in 1v1
Sorc in 1v1 specifically is not good. In 3v3 all you're doing is buying time - in an actual 1v1 environment you're running pretty different builds (like dropping lightning vortex completely for more push-immune skills). Honestly not much advice to give since there aren't many 1v1 Sorcs.

Hey Lin, like a great blaster player, can you tell me the best skills for lvling?
Honestly anything really. Flamethrower is really good since it does damage and covers a wide AoE, as is Rocket Barrage, but Blaster's kinda flex for levelling. Gatling can be good for trash mobs too.

Alt + X - and yes, it is 21:9 aspect ratio. You can force it in game, but I have an X34P so it is native for me.

Any reason you don't run jump barrage?
Jump Barrage has not been "meta" until incredibly recently - and even then in a pre-made environment you might be better off running Howitzer or Plasma Storm for the combo/damage potential and ranged peel offered.
Jump Barrage is great if you lack a proper frontline and have to fight melee heavy comps, but it isn't necessarily the go-to skill. Especially when Howitzer combos are far more consistent and allow for ranged knockdowns.

@@nyhustler208 I'm not veteran but if you really have to pick 1 it has to be flamethrower. I mean i've never seen any Artilerist don't run it because of damage / zone control / buying time tool.

it's actually not considered strong at high levels, unless you have a bard - it's super immobile so that's the punish point. great with proper team coordination and peel though
