    I invested 8 years on medical grade eye creams make up techniques and eating right with a pure lifestyle. After much thought And frustration over the amount of time I would spend on trying to conceal my undereye darkness and puffiness, I decided on lower blepharoplasty. It was the best decision I made. It took 2 weeks for recovery, which was not even bad. The procedure took 10 years off my looks, and it gained me
    My confidence back, which is absolutely priceless!

      @BLE000 You will not regret it. I now feel comfortable and confident in any lighting and situation. I can literally walk out my door with no makeup on and feel ok. Before the procedure, I was always in sunglasses so no one would see my eyes. I'd be happy to answer any questions if you have any. Best.

    Dr Kappel, in your collagen banking video from a month ago, you indicate that bovine collagen is better than marine. Yet, in your answer to gothgirl today, you confirm her belief, that marine collagen is better than bovine. Is marine better just for the under eye area, or overall? I have both types (and I think they were actually the same price) but would like to know if, for cosmetic purposes, is one is better than the other? Should I take half of each?

    • @DrStefaniKappel
      @DrStefaniKappel  Před 2 měsíci +32

      I honestly think they are both great. Its hard not to get hung up on new data that gets presented each month but I honestly think you cannot go wrong with either. 8 months ago when I was doing my research, marine was best. After attending the AAD meeting just days before I posted the collagen boosting video, a few weeks ago I had just attended a lecture were they said bovine had the most unbiased data supporting it. I try to keep you guys up to date but sometimes the data changes.

    I just found your channel and I must say I LOVE IT! You seem to really know your stuff! Also I think your a great role model for young women/ women in general. A beautiful lady with a beautiful brain, I wish I would have been seeing you all these years. I’m a 56 year old female who had a facelift 10 years ago and started using laser treatments and continued great skincare since. But I’m starting to see jowls again and my neck skin is getting saggy since I did not have a neck lift with my facelift. I found that having great skin is better than just being pulled tight, I don’t like to wear makeup so I’m trying to achieve flawless skin free from brown spots, lines and dullness. I also suffer from rosacea so it’s been a struggle to get rid of my rosie cheeks. Can I ask what have you used over the years to keep your young, flawless skin? The issues I’m concerned with now are under eye lines/ CrossFit and loose neck skin. Any advice to tighten these areas?

    Hi Dr. Kappel, For example, someone with musculocontractural Ehlers-Danlos syndrome vs vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome vs Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome vs dermatosparaxis Ehlers-Danlos syndrome might have different considerations with treatments such as vbeam, peels, and thermage. Some patients tend to sag, have "thin skin" and vasculature that can be seen through the skin. Could you suggest questions these patients could bring up with their dermatologists specific to their EDS type when choosing a treatment to get done?

      YES!! If they are a board certified dermatologist that is not enuf if you want the best! Honestly. Board certification in a core subspecialty is great but gives a false sense of security regarding their level of expertise. As if they completed a Fellowship in LASERS or PROCEDURAL Dermatology. This means they had an extra year of doing thousands and thousands of proctored laser cases with an expert guiding them. Dermatologists who have that understand lasers like no one else and is who I would only trust my face with.

    I don't have a problem with under my eyes, but I do have an issue with the top. And only on one eye. It gets puffy and ages that eye horribly, but the other eye looks normal it's very strange. I think it's connected to sleeping more on that side. The only thing which has been able to correct it for me is Olay retinol 24 eye cream and as long as I use it regularly it seems OK.

    I have pale skin with hyperpigmentation. I did a laser once when I was in my early 20’s and then only did in office micro needling facials up until this point. I started to notice the hyperpigmentation in my late 20’s. I wonder if it was from all of the microneedling treatments I got. I notice that there is a clear line of normal toned skin near my hairline which the esthetician always stayed away from. But my forehead and cheeks have blotchy dark spots. 24:08 I would like to do some sort of treatment to address this. But I don’t want to make it worse so I’m not sure what is the best treatment for me. I’m 31 now. I also take really good care of my skin and do all the recommended things at home.

      I guess a more generic question is can lasers reach the subcutaneous fat in areas where skin is thin, like lips or eyelids? Follow up: what if the laser is administered from inside the mucosa, can it reach fat?
