    I am in my early sixties and took great care of my skin over the years. I live in a tropical climate, of African Caribbean ancestry. I never bought into the 'black don't crack' philosophy, consistency used great skincare, avoided the sun prudently and used sunscreen even back in the day when it looked like toothpaste. Now the selections are wider, more thoughtful, inclusive and aesthetically has improved tremendously. To my point, I am very happy you were so transparent. The truth is important and very commendable...I truly wish you the very best of everything💛

      @@whatever5026 : Thank you for your question. I use the following on any given day:
      1. Elta MD - Tinted
      (2) Colorscience Face Shield - Flex/Deep
      (3) Colorscience Face Shield/Bronze
      (4) ISDIN Photo Eryfotona Ageless -Ultralight Emulson. I hardly wear any makeup, any hint of a cast resolves within a few minutes, leaving my face looking glowy, healthy and 'poreless'.
      Most days the application of any of the listed sun screens is my final step.

    I’m a little depressed now, only because of the reality that I could never afford to do all that you do to get the skin you have. My own fault for not going into a financially lucrative career. If you could only recommend procedures/products limited at $100 per month (or $1,200 for the year), what would you recommend for your patient to get the biggest bang for those bucks?

      Unfortunately prices for laser procedures vary depending on where you live . Here in FL you could get a Face only Fraxel or Halo laser for $1100 to 1500 - or a Cool peel laser for $800 ( face only ) -

    To your point that it's never too late to start taking care of your skin, I'm so glad you said that because people could easily get discouraged and think that you can only achieve good results if you start early like you. But I'm 51, I started taking care of it 4 years ago and it looks great. Even without procedures (yet).
    The thing is, if you are not able to consistently take care of your skin but would like to solve everything with occasional procedures, I don't think it will work. It wasn't until I've worked on repairing my relationship with myself and my body through therapy (could be another way for other people) that I started to enjoy skincare. Now it's one of the main ways I show my love for myself and my body.

I don't even wash my face every single day...every other day with my cleanser, unless I'm wearing make up..then of course. I also don’t get them anymore really bc I’m keeping my skin healthy with retin a and it stops the dead dry winter skin from clogging my pores. 🥴

    I'm 46 and you look like my daughter. I do think weight aged people. Making sure you stay slim also is a huge part of looking young beside skin appearance

    • @Arginne
      @Arginne Před 7 měsíci +13

      Not really. Extra weight adds fullness to your face which makes it look youthful.

    • @Ayumi649
      @Ayumi649 Před 7 měsíci +15

      @@Arginne I respectfully disagree. Look at pictures of celebrities in their older age vs when they were young. What do you notice? When they're older, their faces become much fuller/rounder. Heather Locklear and Tom Cruise are great examples of this.
      More importantly, it's not all about the 'face'. Even if you have a cute chubby face, if your body is 'fat', you instantly look 5 to 10 years older than you are.
      Personal example: I once mistook a colleague of mine for a teenager when viewing her from the back. My husband was like...."Isn't that your coworker, Karen?" And I was like "Her? No way, that's just a kid".... Then she turned around.... And it was in fact Karen 😅. It was on that day that I realized how being skinny really does make you look youthful.

      @Ayumi649 you are correct. I'm 27 and gained a lot of weight that I'm losing, it's made me look soon much older. Being thin definitely helps with being youthful. Not underweight but a healthy weight

      She’s got an extremely tight jawline/her cheeks are extremely filled. She’s had a facelift & neck lift. A healthy weight is good for skin elasticity but she’s still had work done. Lorry Hill exposes all of this stuff

    • @xenondoro8573
      @xenondoro8573 Před 5 měsíci +2

      @@Ayumi649 Yeah, thinness is associated with youth since the norm is to become fatter as we age. Also, all that fat leads to sagging skin and jowls on face.

      How did your c02 appt go? Are you seeing results and would you recommend it?

    • @Theorist9
      @Theorist9 Před 3 měsíci +2

      @@rbnlb oh my gosh! it is the best thing I've done! I'll try to make this as brief as possible. I went to a plastic surgeon and he actually put me under anesthesia (which is the only way I would do it). He was able to really do an intense session because I was asleep for it. It is definitely a full 2 week down time of nasty blistering, leaking face so if you decide to do it, know that it is 2 weeks of healing. I suppose if you aren't put under anesthesia then maybe the laser isn't as intense and maybe it could be an easier healing process. But I got wonderful results. I'm 48 and over the years I've done numerous procedures (fillers, numerous lasers, botox, sculptra, etc) and there are only 2 things that I will continue to do and that is botox and the co2 resurfacing laser. I'm done with fillers and other lasers. This procedure pulled my eyelids up, smoothed my cheek wrinkles/lines out, closed my pores etc. I continue to get compliments. I couldn't be happier. If you're considering it, I cannot recommend it enough. But go to a plastic surgeon and ask to be put under so they can really give a good intense laser treatment. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    • @Theorist9
      @Theorist9 Před 3 měsíci +1

      @@rbnlb I'm in Phoenix and the cost was $5k but I believe it is around $2500-$3k if you aren't under anesthesia. You definitely need to wear sunscreen and a hat for a while. I'm obviously in a state with intense sun every day so I stayed indoors as much as possible for the first 2-3 weeks. When I walked my dogs for those first couple of weeks, I used sunscreen and an umbrella. Trust me, you aren't going to want the sun to touch your face. Even though it isn't necessarily painful afterwards, it does feel like a sunburn and looks really nasty. After a couple weeks, I switched to just sunscreen and a hat and now I just use sunscreen. I was never great about using sunscreen before but am really being diligent about it now. I had the procedure done Dec 14th so 3.5 months ago and I haven't been wearing a hat for a good while now. I plan on doing the procedure again in another 5-6 years, if needed.
