- The Flamingo Visitor Center is the southern most part of Florida. (not including The Key) It is also the only place in the whole world were alligators and crocodiles coexist naturally.

Awesome! I've wondered what it looks like at the southern tip of Florida. It's very peaceful. Your camera work is wonderful. Going slow and steady and giving us a chance to really get a look at stuff. You're very considerate in doing so and I greatly appreciate it. This is very interesting. I didn't know about the crocodiles being there! I saw the one you pointed out. Thanks for another great video.

The first building was a gas station. I remember getting gas with my dad, it closed in the early seventies.

1:50 - It's almost impossible to tell the difference between a gator and a croc unless you can see the snout. Crocs have narrow snouts and almost pointy jaws while gators have wide snouts and rounded jaws. Contrary to popular belief, you CAN find gators in brackish water. They don't stay long, but can venture into such areas for hours at a time.
Well if that doesn't beat all! I never knew that there were crocs in the U.S. I wonder if they were imported or native. And manatees too! That building is huge and hasn't been abandoned for long. It is just another casualty of Mother Nature's wrath. Thanks for the tour.
There are native Crocs but there's been reported sitings of caimens which aren't native 😬

Years ago, I bought a Nile Crocodile Belt. really gnarly looking with all the bumps & tough ! Still have it.
Hurricane Andrew devastated that area in August of 92. There are freshwater Crocs. Mostly in Australia. Interesting video per usual Chris.
Definitely freshwater crocs in Australia but that species isn't in America.

Wow! Is there anything open at Flamingo? I remember there was a restaurant and gift shop back in '90. Also, blankets of tiny, black, relentless mosquitos!! They aren't kidding when they recommend repellent!!

I think they have plans to rebuild it but unfortunately, it could easily get damaged again being in the location that it is.

I learned years ago from watching episodes of the late Steve Irwin's Crocodile Hunter that they are much more aggressive than alligators.
Manatees arent monstrous at all they may have glandular challenges however they r babies..... lol. That was a great vlog thank u Christof...enjoyed every second

I would go sunbathing here but on the roof far away from any prehistoric reptiles. lol Florida gives me the creeps.
Actually, Chris, alligators and crocs can be found in South Florida from Palm Beach south, not just down there at Flamingo. Crocs can be found in there largest numbers in the waters around Turkey Point nuclear plant.
Yup! South Florida is the only area in world. So cool!
If you want to know if it’s an alligator or a crocodile, jump in the water. The alligator swims away, the crocodile swims towards you. 😁

I noticed something really strange. At about 5:12 in the video, the door handle moves up and down. Unless it a glitch in the video. It looks like maybe a ghost. Tell me what you think?
That was just a glitch or distortion in the video.
Thanks for pointing out the waste, fraud and abuse aspect of government construction. This place will remain ugly for centuries, our tax dollars at work. Meantime the crocs, ospreys and manatees remain blissfully unaware of the exploitation.
